I regret to inform everyone that I did not, in fact, get the job, but, that's okay. They have a high turnover rate and I will be absolutely vindicated whenever the person they hired instead of me leaves :3 (I'm so not mad over this, I swear *chews on concrete)
Do you think you could make or link to a post reliably explaining how to tell the difference between real and fake fundraisers?
I just feel really really frustrated. I could either let child victims of genocide starve or support slave labor. I am met with shame and guilt either way. I know itās selfish to think so much about myself with something like this but it just doesnāt feel fair, you know?
Buddy. I got some bad news. Theyāre ALL scams.
Think about it. If you were really a desperate parent in a war zone and you REALLY wanted or needed help, do you think your first instinct would be to make a post about it on tumblr?
There are no starving dying babies in your inbox. Thatās the good news. The bad news is, the porn bots are now triggering your moral ocd with their bullshit, by pretending to be starving moms rather than horny moms.
But if you want to help REAL starving dying babies, here:

I think it's no secret that I absolutely HATED how the FGs looked at the end of the comic, they just didn't look ethereal or like goddesses, like, at all. They just looked like they were voguing in trash ass dresses. So. I took matters into my own hands.
I made the FGs menacing. And voguing. If Rachel wanted them voguing, then my god I will deliver the actually voguing.
Persphone, Queen of the Underworld
I wanted her to look like the Underworld somewhat corrupted her, her hair is made of vines, and I made sure not to give her those fuckin red eyes. She was based off the Bed of Chaos from Dark Souls 1. In this version, she's not an FG, she was simply corrupted by their power.
Mater Hera
I'm gonna be completely real with you. I had no idea what the hell to do with Hera, but anywho, she was based off of Kos (Bloodborne), Mergo's Wet Nurse (Bloodborne), and Sylvian (Fear and Hunger). Hera's thing is that she's also the goddess of women and childbirth, so I gave her two sets of breasts, I would have given her more, but it would have ruined the look I was going for. I gave her the colors of a peacock because I needed a color scheme and the peacock fit her well. I wanted her to be menacing.
Metis
I also had no idea what I was doing with Metis, she was another hard redesign to do. I made her look fishy because I have no idea what Rachel was smoking when she gave Metis wings and an "indigenous" look. I gave her a third eye because she's enlightened and wise. She was based on Micolash (Bloodborne), Nosramos (Funger), Valtiel (Funger), and Undyne (Undertale).
Rhea the Tormented
Rhea came out exactly how I wanted. I wanted her to look like a tormented goddess, her husband is Kronos, after all. Since Rhea's a mother goddess and her domain is flow, flowing of milk, birth waters, and menstrual blood. I leaned into the blood part because objectively, blood is distressing to see all over someone or something, her skin is white to contrast the red, but it's also like milk. She's based on Lady Maria (Bloodborne), Blood Starved Beast (Bloodborne), and Dysmorphia (Funger).
Gaia, Blood of a God
Fun fact, this is the first time I've ever drawn a pregnancy belly. I wanted to keep this piece calm and sad because she's showing you the horrors Ouranos caused her. She's an example of the horrors men can cause towards women's bodies. What others with vile intent can do. What a society that hates you can do. She's a victim who wants peace. She was based on Queen Yharnam from Bloodborne.

CW: discussions of mental health issues, some of which may be inaccurate, and slight body horror
Her Personality
Minthe is generally calm and collected, but has a tendency to let her emotions get way ahead of her if she doesn't self soothe. She's known as a slightly morose but kind woman. She enjoys being around her friends and going on nature walks, she's also a little bit of a nerd.
Her Fashion
Minthe generally wears modern clothing as she lives in the Underworld, she favors the color black because it just goes with anything. Her favorite clothing combo is a mesh top and tank top with some comfy jeans. She loves that mesh top too much.
Her Background
Minthe was raised in a nice household, she never really had to worry about life, the only thing that gave her much difficulty though, was her BPD. She struggled for a while, losing friends, having uncontrollable anger, and a deep nothingness that filled her entire being, until she got the help needed. She, for the most part, has her disorder managed, but still slips up now and again.
Design Notes
Minthe's design, for the most part, was based on one of my favorite singers, Tori Amos! I was listening to her song Crucify at the time when I made the first image, and I had to go with Tori's looks to pay tribute to the fact that I sorta based her off the song Crucify. I also somewhat based her off my step-sister who has BPD. I made her look more fishy and green to 1. Go with the actual myths 2. Because mint green for Minthe funny. Red hair was there for the contrast and to pay ode to the best LO character. I'm going to try my best to depict her BPD as accurately as I can! When she's actually, legitimately pissed off, she can go into her primal goddess form, which is based on a skorpina fish!
What else should you know?
She uses she/her and can't drink alcohol because it messes with her medication. She isn't a villain in my story, she's gonna be a more realistic, down to Earth character who we pop in on a few times! She unfortunately still gets turned into a mint plant, but by Demeter. Why? I'm thinking that during a particularly bad episode, she runs into Demeter, she gets slighted because Demeter accidentally knocks her over or something like that, in unadulterated rage, she lays out incredibly harsh insults that have some truth to them about Kore. Demeter gets insulted on her daughter's behalf, and turns her into a mint plant. It gets reversed and Minthe goes to therapy. I don't know though, suggestions would be pretty cool as I only have surface level knowledge but I am doing deeper research. Idk.
A rant by someone who just finished EP. 98 and is incredibly furious
Cw: Mentions of S/A, it's effects, too much swearing, ED mention, personal stuff that happened to yours truly, lots of other stuff too, just no idea what to tag it as
Don't read this if you're not mentally doing well, I don't want you getting hurt because of my post, I love you, feel better soon
Boy. Oh fucking boy. I just got through episode 98 of this shit show and, I'll just say, I am beyond furious. Livid, in fact.
For context, I am a survivor or sexual abuse and mental abuse, I have dealt with those who act sort of like Apollo, I was never raped, but I was molested as a child. I, as a survivor, feel nothing but rage at how Rachel portrayed Apollo being a rapist. The way he acts is incredibly unrealistic for an abuser, as somebody who dealt with two abusers with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (I'm not saying everyone who has NPD are villains, I'm just saying what I went through), I see what Rachel was trying, but oh so tragically failed, to do. He tried to control, manipulate, and gaslight Persephone. Only for none of it to work, that's not how ANY of it fucking works!
Where is the fucking control, other than just fucking raping her? I get he wants to take the power away from her and be the one to control her, but I've seen none of that! I get she has PTSD over it (I'LL GET TO THIS POINT AGAIN). I NEVER GOT THE SENSE THAT SHE WAS POWERLESS EXCEPT FOR THAT ONE SCENE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN HER QUESTION IF THAT WAS HIS INFLUENCE PICKING HER DRESSES, OR FUCKING EVEN HER FOOD! WHEN I WAS LIVING WITH ONE OF MY ABUSERS, SHE'D PICK OUT MY OUTFITS, ONE'S I HATED, AND I STILL CHOOSE SOME OF THOSE OUTFITS, TO THIS DAY! WHERE WAS HER LOSS OF CONTROL? SHE NEVER FELT ISOLATED, SHE NEVER FELT LIKE SHE WAS TRAPPED. YES. SHE WAS TRAPPED IN THAT ONE ROOM WITH HIM, BUT EVEN THEN! SHE HAD LEVERAGE OVER HIM WITH THE FUCKING LYRE. Ugh.
About her realizing she was raped, um. Excuse me? A lot of victims don't realize they were raped or abused until like, months or years later. I'm glad for the ones who instantly realized it, good for them. Given Persephone's personality and experience with the world, she wouldn't have known it was rape because she's not accustomed to dating and sexual culture. On top of that, she isn't really seen actually distressed when she remembers, oh, and lets not forget that she WAS FUCKING FINE WITH TOUCH AND PHYSICAL FLIRTING DAYS AFTER HER ASSAULT. Let me remind you that I have been through this thing myself, you do not just omg I was just assaulted! time to go let someone touch me! Nonono, you spend years jumping when people touch you, years of moving when someone tries to grab your shoulder, years of pushing someone's hand off your arm, years screaming when you get a hug. And then, maybe from flashbacks, maybe from googling things, you discover you were molested! And then it alllllll makes sense. I understand if she became hypersexual, cause same, but that usually doesn't set in until a good long while.
I also hate how Apollo is written, he should have stayed as a shitty ex boyfriend or whatever the fuck Rachel was gonna make him, he just comes across as a cartoonish villain than an abuser. The man just fucking rubs his hands together and fucking goes I'll get you next time my pretty! I fucking HATE his writing so goddamn much. I understand wanting to make him pushy, egotistical, and insecure, they're some of the hallmarks of the pushy nice guy she was going for. But when it comes to him being abusive, it's like watching a bad joke. Rapists don't usually, you know, CATCH FEELINGS FOR THEIR VICTIM (correct me if I'm wrong), unless it's to lure them back in to hurt them again. She made him so obviously evil it hurts, abusers don't usually act that way, they put on a pretty smile, act kind, and behind closed doors, act shitty. I respect 97-98 for getting that part right, but too many times, too many fucking times Rachel has gotten that wrong. I have dealt with this myself, my mother did this exact thing, she even put on the pretty smile for me so even I, somebody who knew he was being tormented, questioned whether or not I was being abused! We never see this with Persephone! We never see her getting gaslit with this, she never questions her reality! She knows everything that's going on for sure! I know what Rachel was aiming for, and she failed miserably!
God, on top of this, we never really get to see Persephone's PTSD unless the story fuckin says Apollo's here! She's never really fucking affected by her rape, we don't see her jump from touches, refuse sexual advanced from Hades, yeah, sure, we see her afraid of camera flashes, but that's about it!!!!!!!! She never really experiences the effects of s/a! I developed an ED and agoraphobia from my abuse! Where the fuck is that?! That would have been a lot more fucking interesting than the slop we fucking got!
I know I've missed some things, but I need to calm down before I pop a blood vessel. I might revisit this post when I'm less angry, I just needed to rant.
Hecate is wise, distinguished, and independent. Her attitude shifts with the moon's phases, the Maiden (new to waxing) is strong headed, fierce, and naive, the Mother (full to waning) is caring, loving, and proud, the Crone (waning to new) is wise, spiritual, but forgetful in her old age. They have lived many lifetimes and have gathered so much information from that, but she has seen many injustices and has a bit of a pent up rage because she's seen the same thing over and over again.
Her fashion
She favors mostly loose modern clothing, it only changes into ancient wear when special events show up.
Their background
Hecate was cut out of the night sky by her mother, Asteria, who she lost early in life. She lived out her early life on the island, Delos, and befriended Apollo and Artemis. They later learn about their mother's sacrifice for Leto and Zeus's pursuit of her, and vowed to never let that happen to any other woman or person. They use their magic and spells to protect those from evil, she's also known to help guide the undead down into the Underworld in her Crone form.
Design notes
I wanted to lean into her space and nighttime theming more. I didn't like how Hecate looked in LO because she didn't feel like the goddess I used to worship and I hated that she was relegated to an assistant. Hecate is their own person here. I went with her holy color (blood red) for her clothing to keep that element of her. You can also tell if she's Maid/Mother/Crone by the stage of the sun on her face. The Maiden has an average star, the Mother has a red giant, and the Crone has a planetary nebula. It has a blood red moon on its forehead because I needed to put SOME element of the moon on her SOMEWHERE. The constellations have no meaning, I just put them there for pizzazz. She is also a low-key Eldritch horror so that's why she looks like that.
What else should you know?
She uses she/they/it pronouns and enjoys brandy. When she's mad, her sun turns into a black hole. They enjoy anything their aunt Leto cooks, but they love her spanakopita the most. SHE'S THE HARDEST CHARACTER I HAVE TO DRAW. HER LACK OF TRADITIONAL HAIR THROWS ME THROUGH A LOOP EACH TIME.
Thanks for reading!
[I allow fanart of my redesigns if that's a thing you wanna do since I've seen a recent up tick of people liking my stuff.]
... but remember that scene in S1 depicting Eros and Psyche having sex in a very SFW but plainly obvious and intimate way?
Like it's so simple, the characters aren't colored in, the final illustration is basically just H x P sketches with watercolor thrown on top, and yet it's 10x more dynamic and intimate and beautiful than anything we've gotten in the last 2 seasons of LO. Seriously, how is this scene of Eros and Psyche somehow more impactful and intimate than the literal WEDDING NIGHT between Hades and Persephone?
Like, seriously, what happened here? They spent twice as much time on the H x P wedding night scene as the Eros x Psyche scene and yet it accomplished jack shit compared to the former. Did Webtoons get a lot more strict in what Rachel was allowed to depict? It still got the YA rating anyways so I don't understand why she couldn't give H x P's long awaited wedding night even a fraction of the same warmth and intimacy that Eros and Psyche got. By comparison the H x P wedding night feels clinical and lifeless - like the crime scene of a murder - and I don't know how we got to this point.
This is why people are constantly meme'ing on LO's writing with jokes about how it's been replaced by a ChatGPT bot, or that at some point during LO's development Rachel got replaced by an alien who doesn't know how humans talk. There used to be actual emotion and tension behind the characters' words and how they talked to each other. Now it feels like they're just plainly reading off a script that's trying WAY harder than it should be to sound 'deep' and it's ironically making it sound worse compared to the first season that had simpler - but way more meaningful and human - dialogue.
The dialogue makes no fucking sense, no married couple on their honeymoon would speak to each other like this, let alone take this long to fuck if they're *that* excited. On top of that, the dialogue makes no fucking sense from a scene standpoint, yes, there's a goofy little moment to resolve some tension, but then she starts talking about *rain?* Fucking *rain*? Ok then! Go off queen!
Let's talk about the art. Oh god the art. NONE OF IT FEELS INTIMATE. AT ALL. WHAT SO EVER. I'VE SEEN INTIMATE PORTRAYED BETTER BY A SIX YEAR OLD WITH CRAYONS THAN WHAT EVER THE FUCK RACHEL HAD GOING ON. The build up doesn't even start til halfway into the scene, even then, it feels rushed and clinical. I'm not watching two newlyweds having sex, I'm watching a doctor autopsy a murder victim. The coloring is disgusting, the shading is subpar at best, her dress makes no sense and looks gross in certain shots, there's nothing depicting the intimacy they're supposedly sharing in the last shot other than just shadows... Fucking... Shadows? I've seen Derpexion do better with subtlety than whatever this is.
Rachel and her team need to get their shit together, I've seen them do well before, but this? This is just a disgusting waste of talent and energy.
Hades is known to be a stubborn and grouchy god. When he's with friends or family, he's a kind and inquisitive man who really enjoys philosophy and thrifting.
His fashion
He dresses very modern to fit in with the new souls coming into his realm and to ease them into death. He generally wears goth fashion or anything formal looking, most of what he wears is thrifted. His hair is usually long and worn up in a ponytail or bun, when short, he usually has it down.
His background
He and his brothers (Zeus and Poseidon) come from the titans Kronos and Rhea. He was swallowed by Kronos when he was a wee lad, and is forever (mentally) scarred by it. He later becomes king of the underworld. He has a strained relationship with Zeus and a neutral relationship with Poseidon, he's on decent terms with Hera, and is neutral to Hestia and Demeter.
Design notes
I wanted him to feel more lax. I also wanted him to be both feminine and masculine to offset what the hell we got in LO. The white streak in his hair is from stress. I also genuinely could not, for the life of me, decide what color his shading should be, so it's inconsistent as balls. His color scheme is primarily his holy colors and blood red. The Hades in the second picture will never be seen again with that hair cut because it's way too close to my dad's hairstyle and I don't want to think about that. Unless the people who love it beg me to keep it, it's never happening again unless I made it plot relevant. Fun tidbit: him and my DnD character share a design!
What else should you know?
He uses he/him and collects thrifted clothes like a crow with shiny things. He likes pomegranate wine, snowy evenings, and dolmades. Him and Kore are about the same age. His brothers also stressed him out to the point where he got his grey streak.
Hades & Persephone's relationship is canonically a loving and quite healthy relationship in the context of Greek mythology which represents a form of balance for the world through the cycle of the seasons. Persephone is not a victim of Hades either... Anyone who has studied Greek mythology can actually explain it to you.
That's a bad vision of the original myth due to a too modern interpretation. It's not the modern era that romanticizes this basic relationship. This was already the case in Greek times...
It even seems to me that Hades and Persephone were often represented on the vases given to newlyweds (pretty crazy, since Hera was literally the goddess of marriage) because they were always described as having a loving, supportive and harmonious marriage.
And if you're looking for a real culprit in the union of Hades & Persephone, there's literally Zeus, who authorized the marriage between the two after Hades came to ask him. Hades didn't kidnap Persephone as soon as he saw her. He first asked to his father, Zeus, for her hand in marriage, as in the Greek traditions of the time.
In some versions of the myth, it even seems to me that Aphrodite is the one who provoked Hades' love for Persephone by sending Eros to plant an arrow in her after being upset by a refusal. But for now, I'm not sure of Aphrodite's real involvement.
But regardless, in the original myth, the one blamed is actually very clearly Zeus. He is the one, once again, having authorized the kidnapping of Persephone, which in Greek traditions translates into an engagement, and who has caused the whole messy situation with poor Demeter.
As for the grenade episode, it doesn't seem to me that we can know the original version. So the whole "Hades forced Persephone to eat the pomegranate" thing is also bullshit.
There doesn't even seem to me to be any indication of Persephone having been mistreated in any way by Hades in the myth. It's again bullshit.
I'm making this post because I've had yet another person explain to me that Persephone is a victim of Hades and that our modern age romanticizes the relationship between the two.
"Yes. Like Persephone gets bastardised. Persephone was Hades's assault victim. People try to "modernize" her by making her want Hades (all while making Demeter to be in the wrong). Mina was Dracula's assault victim. People try to "modernize" her by making her cheat on Jonathan for Dracula."
Except no. Persephone is not a victim of Hades in the context of Greek myth. That's a stinking modern vision. Kind of ironic, when you argue that it's the modern view that stands in for the real version of Persephone being a victim of Hades when... well no. It's the modern era that makes Persephone a victim of abuse at the hands of Hades, (this all reminds me of how people make Rhaenyra a victim of grooming in her relationship with Daemon) while that is not the case in the context of the original myth. As I explained above, this interpretation is modern bullshit. And it is very important to transcribe the myths in their ancient context to understand their various messages, otherwise you will miss the point.
But I won't elaborate further because @cthonisprincess has already explained it very well. I invite you to go and see these reblogs below which detail the whole affair of Hades and Persephone in much more detail :
Zeus was not, quote, ābribedā not to do anything. In fact, everything that Hades did in the myth was legal.
Ancient Athenian wedding prepar
I even recommend this video :
My god, I can't believe that in 2024, people are still at the stage of demonizing Hades, even though he is one of the rare decents gods, and still claiming that Persephone is an assault victim of Hades... This is a shameful distortion of the original myth and a real bastardization of the goddess Persephone.
Also... we're literally talking about a myth. The goal of a myth is to be reinvented according to the times. So what does it matter that there are adaptations of the myth that differ from the said myth, or rather from the biased vision that some have of making Persephone a poor victim of the evil Hades ?!
Persephone is a victim of patriarchy, Zeus, and Hades, but eventually grew to love Hades. People seem to forget this. Her kidnapping is what happened to Greek women at that time, it was normal, doesn't mean it was correct, but it was normal. We seem to forget this in our modern times. The Hymn of Demeter tackled this issue of mothers missing their daughter because they may not get to see them again, ever. People also forget that Hades and Persephone had a healthy relationship for those times. Our modern views tend to muddy the contexts of those times, it's 2024, let's have more media literacy.
Kore is enthusiastic, a go getter, smart, and flirty. She's known to be very kind and inquisitive but also has a very dark side to her.
Her fashion
She dresses mostly modern with a splash of traditional, she favors chokers and the colors black and gold. Her hair is worn typically short as she does a lot of garden work, but it can grow out either at will or when she's nervous, she only wears her hair long when she feels like it.
Her background
She's the daughter of Demeter, Demeter formed her out of flowers, meaning she has no father. Her and her mother have a stellar relationship with, of course, the normal hang ups of a mother daughter relationship. She hails from the country but has always been caught up with the world via the Internet. She's friends with Hecate, Hermes, Artemis, and of course, the nymphs that live close to her.
Design notes
I didn't intend on her being black coded, but I went with it anyway as I feel there needs to be better black/brown representation in LO (and that's just according to my pasty white ass). I wanted her to be more sexy and flirty in a more "I'm a mature and sensible woman" sort of way instead of born sexy yesterday. Yes, she's still sort of naive, given she grew up in the country and is adjusting to city life, but she isn't a dumb little damsel. I went with some of her holy colors for her color scheme.
What else should you know?
She uses she/her and enjoys sparkling grape juice. She's vegan, enjoys beer, and likes seaweed snacks. She's also pierced to hell and back, but she leaves her jewelry out sometimes because she blows through aesthetics.
I'm an artist and rewriter, this blog is dedicated to being a project place for my rewrite of Lore Olympus.
About me:
I used to be an LO fan, til the Apollo assault scene, it made me leave because it triggered me. My knowledge on most of LO's story comes from Reddit and Tumblr
My autism will not allow this transgression of a comic to ruin my hyperfixation on mythology
I really hate the designs for most the characters
I can and I will be driven by spite to fix this comic
Why am I doing this? Pure spite and a hatred of bad writing.
What to expect? Art. Lots of art if I'm well enough along with some ideas I have in mind.
