I just finished my first two days of work and it was definitely different. In a good way though. I’ve never worked in a professional kitchen before. Not to mention they only use the best ingredients so everything is amazing. Everyone has been really nice and welcoming and my trainers have been so helpful and patient with me because I can be so slow when it comes to learning policies and procedures. So overall I can tell I am going to like working there. I will say, however, I am very glad to have the next two days off. I don’t have my official work shoes yet so my feet/ knees/back are killing me. But hopefully they will be here soon! My friends are going back home to visit family for the week so I have the place to myself :) I seriously need to go grocery shopping tomorrow…anyway thanks for reading all my random, exhausted late night thoughts. I will update again soon. Love you all!

So today was my friend's birthday. We went and got her presents and we brought her back Starbucks. Then her mom paid for all three of us to go to The Melting Pot. It was so cool! We got to make our own food and the fondue was amazinggggg lol we got spinach and artichoke for our appetizer and the for dessert we got dark chocolate mixed with white chocolate. I definitely want to go back soon. Tomorrow is my first actual day of work and I'm so excited!!! I'll update you guys when I get home from work :)

9/27/2014- Just a little reflection...

You know, I'm finally starting to feel homesick. I expected it but, it's all hitting me a once and I hate the fact that it makes me question my decision to come here. I am constantly reminding myself of all of the reasons I completely dropped everything to move to a new place. In California it is beautiful and my heart will always, always, ALWAYS want to be there and there is no doubt in my mind that, no matter what, I will return home but, I needed to do this. I cannot explain how much I love my family and they will forever be within my top priorities however, I'm so done feeling like they were taking me for granted and taking advantage of my kind heart. Talking to my grandma today really reminded me of that. Absence makes the heart grow fonder so, I'm hoping that in this case my absence will show them how much I did and how much I cared and why it was literally killing me. I'm way too young to have to take on all of the stress and chaos of every person I love and care for. I need to focus on myself right and find out who I truly am before I can even think about starting my life. It's going to be extremely hard. I know this journey is going to challenge me in every way possible but, honestly I'm so ready for it. I know better than anyone that nothing worth having or wanting ever comes easily and I know there are going to be times where I'm going to hate the steps I'm going to have to take. But, the struggles I've gone through in life always ended up reaping my greatest rewards and I'm a stronger person than I've ever been because I know that. I will never understand why God called me out here of all places but, I also know that I couldn't be more excited for all of the possibilities this place offers me.

Woo! Just did a trial run on my new bike! It's definitely going to be fun. I also looked at a couple of rooms for rent. Just to have a space of my own until my friends and I can get our own place. I'm hoping they call me back soon. My first orientation for work is tomorrow and I have a feeling I am going to enjoy working there and meeting new people. Love you all and thanks for reading :)

I think in the next two days I'm going to go pick up a bike. I cannot wait to start riding around in the fall. The leaves will be changing soon and falling off the trees. Everyone tells me I am going to hate it but, I am ecstatic to experience living in the snow for the first time. I love the cold and the layers it requires. I hope everyone is doing well! Hello all,

I've been in Boise about 2 weeks now. It is definitely interesting for a California girl, born and raised, to step outside of the conventions and move to a place as different as it is here. But nonetheless, I am eager and willing to learn all about living in a new place. I'm also enthusiastic to start meeting new people and start my new job at Whole Foods. My friends have been so accommodating and understanding of my reservations, in fact they pride me and remind me of my sense of adventure and willingness to try new things. I hope to start school eventually, whether it be at the state university or community college. Either way I just want to start my education! Please stay tuned because I intend to update this blog as much as I can with entries and pictures alike! Love you all.
