Pearlet Fic(Living On The Highest Shelf)-The Last Chapter
Ā When Violet woke up the first thing he smelt was Pearl. Pearl, lying next to him on the couch, his arm draped on top of Violet. It felt amazing. It felt amazing to have this great boy wrapped around him like this again. Heād missed this. Yet he wanted to get up. Heād had an idea, and he wasnāt going to let it be spoiled by his current incapability of moving.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Somehow, he managed to lift Pearlās heavy arm off of his torso without waking him up.It was honestly a miraculous feat that Violet didnāt think he was capable of. This is harder than winning drag race, he thought. Then, Violet lifted himself up to a sitting position and tried to sort out the kinks in his neck (which were a consequence of sleeping on the couch). This is when his laziness set in, and he had no desire to move. He had to force himself to finally get off the couch a few minutes later.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Through the night heād decided that the next morning he would make pancakes for Pearl. He figured this would be cute and slightly apologetic as he was still not over the fact that he didnāt tell him about his teenage years. He looked up a recipe on his phone and tried to get to work.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā To cut a long story short, there was a reason why Violetās parents had banned him from cooking in their kitchen. Almost everything went wrong, and around an hour later, Violet realized that pancakes werenāt an option. So, he decided to do the next best thing: pop tarts. He popped them in the toaster, and they were ready before 3 minutes were up. To make everything look at least slightly more home made, he squeezed some orange juice out of the 3 oranges remaining in his fruit bowl. Somehow, Pearl slept through all this.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Violet grabbed a post it note and scribbled something on it to complete the tray heād fabricated for Pearl. Then, he brought it out to the living room and set it down on the coffee table. He knew that Pearl would sleep through the entire day unless he did something, so he acted in a way that was a surefire way to make Pearl hate you; he woke him up.
āWake up, Pearl, wake up.ā Violet laughed at the joke as he shook him to consciousness. It took a few more tries to fully wake him up, but eventually, his eyes opened to shoot death rays at Violet.
āUgh Violet, Iām going to kill you.ā Pearl mumbled through sleepy lips.
āPearl smash!ā Violet said, mocking the practically helpless queen. Very funny, Pearl thought. Violet lifted him so that his back creased the pillows, and then handed him the (now cold) tray of pop tarts and orange juice.
āAw Violet, you shouldnāt have!ā Pearl said as he sat the tray on his lap. The first thing he did was try to take a bite of pop tart, which ended up being completely burned on the back side. Pearl looked up at Violet, turning the charred pop tart so that he could see it.
āNo really, you shouldnāt have.ā he said, earning a laugh from Violet.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Violet may have hid it well, but she was nervous. Nervous when Pearl took a bite out of the pop tart, and down right terrified when he lifted the glass of orange juice to his lips. Violet watched as Pearl took a sip and tried to set the glass back down before noticing a small post it note stuck to the tray under where the glass was. Pearl lifted it to his face with no hesitance, reading the note out loud.
