Its going to be a “Blue Christmas!” (No im not referring to Elvis Presley.) Im referring to these DIY decorations! Every year, my family and I come up with either a theme or a color to celebrate Christmas. The holidays are very special to me. My family usually gets together and we cook, drink, and enjoy each other company. However, everyone has their own traditions and plans for the holidays. An example of this would be that in my culture, we celebrate Noche Buena which is on December 24th, also known as Christmas Eve.
Paint (different shades of blue and white)
Different Shades of Blue paint (I usually use paper plates to do arts and crafts its inexpensive and easy to clean up for adults and kids)
Dry and fully opened Pine cones
Step One: Debug your pinecones (ahead of time they take a while to dry) if they aren’t store bought, my complex has plenty of pinecone trees so I just went hunting for them with my daughter. To debug the pinecones I submerged them with a mixture of Luke warm water and white vinegar, leave for 45 min to an hour. Remove pinecones and spread to allow them to open up again, once they have fully dried up, on a flat baking sheet covered in aluminum foil spread your pinecones and put in oven for 250 degrees for about an hour
Step Two: For your gold hooks you will need a set of pliers to be able to really get the screw part of your hooks into the pinecones.
Step Three: Make sure you lay out your plastic covers on the area that you will be painting your pinecones. Separate your paint I used plastic plates because there way more affordable and easy to cleanup, once you have separated your colors you can start painting your pinecones.
Step Three: Allow your pinecones to dry for at least 2 hours if you want to add a little sparkle like I did to my white pinecones try to apply glitter before they fully dry. Once they have fully dried you can take your ribbon put it threw your gold hook. I use two different color ribbons since I use different shades of blue and white.
Once Pine cones are dry Its time to paint!
Let the pinecones air dry and retouch.

Step Four: Lay out your garland and start tying your pinecones as you would like them to look on your garland and place your finish project over your fireplace (or anywhere else you would like to put your garland)
