Was for the 4 panel thing for twitter but I'm not gonna bother on here
Nico reaches for Livio's face with both his hands, cupping his cheeks, calloused thumb grazing his cheek bone. " You're as beautiful as the day I lost you... " he smiles weakly, doesn't even give a fuck that two gun barrels are pressed upon his chest.
How long had it been since the last time he felt those hands on his face? How long as he known those grooves, every rough pad. Even down to the hint of cigarette smoke. It was all so familiar...this man.
His face, his voice....that touch.
A thousand memories splintered through the screams.
A soft gentle laugh, a hand holding his own, tan and tender, gunfire and a flare of bullet holed curtains. A wedding ring band tumbling, glinting through dusty soil. A hand through his silver hair, quiet chocolate eyes watching him protectively. And a caress over his chin, thumbing away tears with that same texture. That same rough tender brush. Just like before.
Just like now.
The gun stayed whirring furiously, pressed hard against a beating chest, but the trigger wouldn't squeeze. Even when his entire body told him to shoot, to rid himself of this man for good...he couldn't do it. Red eyes shimmered dangerous, a hint of gold splashing in seas of molten crimson.
"...N-Nico...?"
"Wolfwood...."

✟ ― Wolfwood doesn't shy away from the pale tentative hand that moved to clasp his, only acknowledging with a gentle squeeze back. But he kept his pensive gaze towards the glowing pale moon in the sky with the trickling images of his recent dream still vivid in his mind's eye.
It's been a year or so since the two had been on the run, running from the so called hand of mercy trying to bring them both to justice for their sins. Though, so far they've managed to dodge their fate at every turn. For a year or so that was all the life Nicholas knew with Livio ― running, killing, making love and having to try just to survive at the end of the day. All he knew was survival. But being here now, back to ground zero where they'd both had to start all over again, sometimes Nico has to pinch himself every now and then that they've mostly been allowed some relative peace by whatever god there was looking down upon them from heaven.
Wolfwood doesn't want to seem jumpy around his partner, but he does find himself a little spooked every now and then, looking over his shoulder for signs of danger, cuz fate just might decide to come back to bite them. The nightmares were a little more harder to hide. "It's nothin, I'm fine." Nico waves his other free hand, cigarette clamped between two fingers. He hesitates to divulge any more, but he doesn't wanna leave Livio hanging. "...Just been havin the same dream every night is all."
"Is it the one where you're running and your pants fall." Livio teased, hiding a soft giggle with his free hand before putting it up in mock surrender. "I'm joking, my love. Besides if it was that one I'd know by the girly shriek you'd make in the middle of the night." Another soft chuckle before he'd shake his head.
He was doing his best to lighten the mood. In his time on the run with his beloved, he'd come to grasp a better understanding of humor better than before. All his life ever since Nico left him alone and empty he had dedicated himself to simply becoming stronger, colder, feeling nothing...being a monster the Eye would praise.
The Doublefang and nothing else...
But now with his Nico, humanity had slowly oozed itself back into his heart, where he could laugh and smile in a way he had only known before as a child. Right here just like back then. Right next to his big brother.
Livio watched his lover with curious eyes all the same, scanning his facial expression for any sense of anxiousness but he'd stay quiet all the same, simply being the rock to anchor himself too as Nico had been for him many times before. If he chose to speak up then he would do so, patience was all it took to get to the bottom of whatever was eating Nico up inside.
"A dream...or a nightmare?" The silver haired brother would probe hesitantly, cocking his head to the side in a way that made silver locks stray from their place tucked behind his ear. His snowy strands would sparkle with the moonlight, giving his nickname Moonshine seem far too accurate to his gentle features in it's glow.
Welcome back crybaby
"You should be asleep..." Livio's voice was soft behind his elder as he stepped out into the midnight glow of the moons shine. Their cabin was a quiet one on the top of a desert hillside, far from wandering eyes and far from any city. Here they had started again, a quiet isolated cabin where they'd had known peace for the last year or so. However his poor Nico still seemed to have a hard time sleeping. This wasn't the first time he had frown his lover upon the steps of their resurrected home. Leaning against the doorframe, Livio would brush back his long silver locks, watching his mate with a faint smile. "Everything alright...? Vash call or something?"
✟ ― Its the dead of night and Livio would find his missing lover out on the yard, perched upon the the ruins of a bullet torn wall that almost looked like its about to crumble. From the back, Livio would be able to see a lazy trail of smoke coming from Wolfwood, reaching up to the heavens and forming a string towards the silvery glow of one the 5 moons. Nico doesn't even flinch when he hears Livio chime right behind him. He has his jacket off, barefoot, shirt rumpled from sleep. "Go back to bed, moonshine." Wolfwood sounded gruff, voice still thick from sleep. He flicks some of the ash from the end of his cigarette. "I'll be right with you... Just gettin some fresh air, s'all." He'd woken up from a dream he'd rather not remember, leaving the blankets strewn and bed cold where he had left his mate all alone. @livio-the-doublefang
His darling Nico...
So much had changed and yet so little all at once. It had only been two years now since they found eachother again, had come to understand what their bond really was. Running from the Eye, from who they use to be as bloodthirsty assassins, investing in living peaceful lives and hiding away-...it was a lot. A long journey, one he had hoped Wolfwood had recovered from by now. But with every other night finding his love out here in the cold he was beginning to wonder if he ever would be back to his old self. Was he as alright as he claimed to be? As much as Nico would've wanted him to go, the sunset eyed former assassin didn't move from his spot, contemplating more if he should move to his side or give his big brother the space he wished for.
"You're a fool to think you can get rid of me so easily, Nico." Livio tutted softly before finally making his mind and padding over to his side, coming to carefully sit down on the stoop besides him, his own golden stare rising up to the dancing sibling planetoids circling their home like a divine halo of celestial objects. It was beautiful here. Quiet. Peaceful.
"Something on your mind big brother? You've been coming out here at night more than just a few times." Reaching out, the younger would grasp his lover's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You can always speak to me y'know. If-If something's bothering you-..."
Filippo Palizzi, Luna mancante avanti l'alba 1871
"It's been a long time..."
"Nothin' like losing something to make ya realize it was important. Where you been, little brother."
"Nico....big brother, it-...it has been awhile." Livio looked away, rubbing at his arm. "Forgive me for vanishing."
Have a silly lil meme
Wolfwood: Hey bro what do you want to eat.
Razlo internally: THE SOULS OF THE INNOCENT

Nicholas would grab for his shaking hand and he would squeeze it firmly. "Hey... Hey, eyes on me, Liv." They're in the middle of a crowded marketplace, surrounded by a barrage of noise, sights, sounds, and smells. There were children playing and running around, shoppers haggling and milling about and vendors shouting their wears. A kaleidoscope of human activity. They've only just arrived in this bustling town.
Wolfwood had been hyperaware of his partner's unease and slowly building anxiety right by his side. Tsk. He'd seen it before. Seen how Livio's lips would worry and his hands would tremble. They've only been on the run for only a day. "Don't let go of my hand, ok? C'mon," He would then weave their way through the throng, leading them to a more secluded place, an small dim alleyway, away from the crowd and prying eyes. He'd lean the Punisher against the wall before taking Livio's face into both his hands. "Shh... I've got you. Focus on the sound of my voice. Just focus on me and count to three..."
Livio thought he was ready for this by now. He thought he'd be fine. Thought he'd be okay. After all if he could manage to mow down armies of men, going into a town of normal people should have been the easiest thing in the world....and yet he found out quite fast that no. No he couldn't. Livio stood in the middle of the market place they had strode into for supplies and he knew almost the moment he walked in that he wasn't actually ready to mingle with normal society yet. From the noises all around them, to the way Nico's words as he spoke over his shoulder to him sounded suddenly distant and under water. like an echo, all he could do was stand stiffly still and ball his fists at his sides as people carried on all around him, shouts and yelling, soft conversations between couples and the laughter of children. So much noise, too much noise. All louder than a hailstorm of bullets'. It was just too much. SSo much. The flashes of his past would only make things worse. He could see himself and Nico running through a market just like this, then it would flash to himself older, shooting down a target in a similar location, laughter turning into screams of terror, the sounds of passerby's becoming pleads of begs for their lives, giggling becoming crying. Too much. So much.... Nico calling out to him at first sounding as he use to as a child, running up to him as he was crying and gently shaking his shoulder but when he opened his eyes again he was in there here and now, Nico actually was shaking him, older now and with a worried expression. All this coming to an end the moment Wolfwood took the younger by the hand to calm him. As he was ushered away he kept an iron grip on Nico's hand as ordered and finally when they were away from it all he could shakily grip to his big brother's suit jacket and try to breathes. "S-Sorry, sorry....M'so....." Livio whimpered out as he held onto him, shaking and quaking and leaning into the elders sturdy grip. Slowly but surely, with his lovers quiet cooing and assurance he'd calm down, taking deep breaths in and out and counting down as told to do so. Within minutes his death grip on the brunette lessoned and he'd lean back against the wall. running a trembling hand through messy silver stands. "....I'm okay, m'okay I just...I wasn't as prepared for this as I thought. I'm sorry..."
