As we wrap up #womenshistorymonth let’s talk about #strongwomen inspiring strong women characters. Grandma Charlotte from In the Shadow of the Lark, was inspired by my own grandmother, Brigitte. For all of you to get to know her a bit better, I asked her a few questions. Read on to see her answers! 1. What strong woman in your life or throughout history inspired you? The strongest woman to grace my life was my mother. She was a workaholic, lived through a war, worked to help support the family until she retired for medical reasons. She worked long grueling hours that took their toll on her health. She kept a spotless house, cooked wonderful meals and deserved far more from us than she received. I still wish I had it in me to do all the things she did in her life an d do them all as well as she did! I really miss her! 2. What do you like so much about fairies and magic? I love fantasies, fairy tales and fairies. Anyone of them can take you to a place that only exists in your imagination. One can get lost in a fantasy daydream. You can take a friend or you might go alone. Either way, for a short time you decide what that world will look like. 3. How does it feel knowing that you inspired Grandma Charlotte in my novel In the Shadow of the Lark? I was taken by surprise when I found out I was your inspiration for your book. It's quite an honor!
