all these transparent as fuck ppl in teen wolf fandom who blatantly come from spn which raised "turning justifying ur bullshit problematic show into social justice" to new heights along w/ joss whedon enterprises
teen wolf thoughts
peter's.....there.....????? why does s1 matter now lol. its like s4 spike in btvs, actually EXACTLY LIKE THAT WOW, but no intervening explanation abt why hes not killing everyone. hes just there and god i dont care about peter at all. who cares about peter. also remember when he like possessed lydia but now hes just there, hanging
it feels like there was an intervening season that put all of the characters' dynamics in these places, specifically the group dynamic where scott and derek are kind of co-alphas
theres also the vague lydia & stiles & allison thing that they say theyre gonna develop but thats also like. ????? i dont know they already showed them being friends but they weren't really FRIENDS not even after the night school of terror bonding experience, because LYDIA didnt know she was on a werewolf show.
ive enjoyed derek when he isnt trying to act like allison is the villain of this story (lmfao, derek) which is like, no, hes still terrible, nothings CHANGED but theres just this unearned levity in his scenes. ps. no one but scott cared that he created a hot teen werewolf army until THE SECOND EPISODE OF ANOTHER SEASON. fuck is this
anyway tl;dr is that ALL of this is unearned and weird like they found a fic i havent read and decided its the intervening summer's canon. things that are definitely good are scott trying to be a doper person (scott!!!) but other than that its like. i feel like i missed episodes but theres no episodes there. get it together, wolf teens. previously u did things happening in sequence!!
IF I MAKE TEXT POSTS ON MY MAIN BLOG IS THIS MY SUBTWEET ACCT
got catching up thoughts
oona chaplin was so wasted but its hilarious to watch all the scenes that ppl thought definitely meant she was gonna be to spy knowing its all coming to the lowest common denominator ie. her getting stabbed in the damb WOMB. by “hilarious” i mean im gonna kill u
everything w/ arya kills it like all the time. gosh, maisie williams is so good, and consistently is the center of the scene even with actors who are like a bajillion times her age (precise mathematics equations)
all the sansa scenes just make me SAD and we are so rarely allowed her perspective, even if u can’t say enough how great and talented sophie turner is at projecting all of sansa’s narrative. all of her scenes tend to be about things sliding around her. its awkward.
i love cat & michelle fairley & im so mad. what was that jon snow speech????? so mad. at least i know shes gonna get her moment during The Wedding but if ur not even gonna end it on [a book spoiler] then whats the point.
ros’ death scene. u can go fuck urselves.
im really into jaime and brienne’s stuff but jaime’s a dumb jock with bluth family complexes & brienne is like on such a higher level but i really enjoy it. gwendoline christie and ncw are truly great together. id watch their 40s slapstick detective movie
I FEEL LIKE HBO MIGHT NOT HAVE GOTTEN THE DANY IMPERIALISM MEMO but "i speak valyrian" was straight up amazing
im watching episodes on hbo on demand and there was a huge “behind the scenes” thing after the episode w/ the scene where talisa writes a letter like “this where robb starts to believe again and it comes together with wanting to protect his family, a turning point into something brighter” or whatever HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT SHIT WITH A STRAIGHT FACE oh my god. oh my god. shit

yeah dude I am pretty radical-as-an-adjective but I can’t even say that because radfems.
I FUCKIN KNOW RIGHT so i gotta be a radical babe feminist instead. these are the problems we all deal w/
jesus christ i hate radical feminism. i thought that was a cute look for a min as a young relatively privileged girl w/ internet access but it wasnt.
teen wolf spoilers
CONFESSION: i really really enjoyed the first episode of season two then they killed the new girl off (apparently?) and its like ugh whatEVER especially bc i was thinking they would kill her off much earlier. aside from that being GROSS she rode on a motorcycle thru awful cgi to save damsel in distress isaac, like, u give that then take it away. w/e.

it made me do the “ha ha ha this is so funny oh man i’m in pain” laugh but i also agree with you. COMPLEX THINGS, YO. (*whispers* gotcha)
YO I FEEL LIKE KIND OF A JERK BC ITS NOT THAT COMPLEX ITS AN ANGSTY GIF SET. im just projecting ALL MY ISSUES ON IT. its ok. im ok.
i hate that one gif set w/ amy as the tardis hologram b4 eleven regenerates even though i wouldn't be surprised if it, or something like it, happened because it's so sad and dumb. and empty, with eleven looking for an echo of amy. like i guess the show kind of took it there, but what makes s5 so great are the themes of hope, and past sadness not negating that. s5 is the perfect season of doctor who for me bc it is literally ultimately about everyone accepting that they have no fucking clue what is going to happen, and they (eleven and amy) have been burned before, but they care about each other and they are going to have fun. im sure moffats going to do prophecy shit and make everything sad but my very ideal eleven departure would have him going out w/ a "geronimo"
ppl who i dont even follow back trying to correct me on this tweet

HOW ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME
I AM NOT THE DROID U WERE EVER LOOKING FOR
YOUR FIRST PAGE IS ALL CAPS SO I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD WRITE IN CAPS BUT REALLY I JUST CAME OVER HERE TO CAMLY ASK YOU YOUR OPINION OF THE ELEMENTARY FINALE
i dont even have to check to know that my first page is all caps, ur correct & not lying. BUT!!! i loved it, OBVIOUSLY.
i have a lot of thoughts abt how it illuminated how the show works structurally which im planning posts on!!, and also some initial reservations abt how they adapted irene adler which i talked out on twitter. ive seen some pretty good posts rebutting my irene adler issues, but idk. while she definitely slots into The Woman Who Beat Holmes, i would have found a straight adaption of her satisfying, or if the reveal had played more that moriarty was irene. as it stood, irene was an alias invented by the figure of moriarty, who may or may not exist (which is itself a good way to deconstruct moriarty, bc it acknowledges, even just subtextually, his level of power/privilege; i was hesitant abt the idea of him not being a rando old guy just bc i thought it might not be pulled off this well). u can frame it another way but that is how it’s presented, which is not (especially considering how they played it) necessarily a problematic decision or even a bad adaptation choice, but it is that. i was also a little eye-rolly at ppl saying they called the moriarty reveal because, like, ok, WHATEVER I DONT CARE. elementary ain’t about twists; it’s about the emotional payoff.
irene is kind of a robin hood type in the original acd; you admire her tactics, they come from an ultimately moral place, and she is essentially another protagonist instead of a real antagonist. making her a villain instead can thus be gross especially if u don’t examine “The Woman” stuff critically at all. ofc elementary avoids all of that, though, and sets irene up as this ideal, this one woman who was the exception to sherlock thinking all women are pillowy diversions or whatever shit he was on, then it turns out that was as much of a lie as his other stupid issues were and just reinforces how important watson is for him and they are for each other. it’s also amazing that irene, as a constructed identity, literally bested holmes; the great thing was always that she had already beaten him by the time we met him. it also pays off all of the running stuff in this season with watson - “perhaps in time i’ll solve that as well,” “just a woman with a crazy story,” etc. it was really, really, really great. REALLY GREAT, even if i would have also enjoyed other adaption choices for irene-as-moriarty.
I DONT THINK THAT PPL UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN I MAKE FUN OF HANNIBAL IT AINT WITH LOVE
