Totally Normal - Mirhawks
It’s totally normal…totally and completely normal to casually meet up with someone for coffee on your lunch break. There’s totally and completely nothing wrong with that.
So why is Jim sitting at a table by the window practically vibrating his leg is shaking so much? He considered telling Boo about the crazy night he had when he got home, but thought better of it, considering everything about what happened.
He ordered a spiced hot chocolate, and took a sip way too quickly because he was too impatient. So when Liza finally walked in the door, he was nursing a little burnt patch on the tip of his tongue.
He sat straighter, chewing on the inside of his cheek, “hello again.”
Liza was running so so late. Considering she had been asking her students to take advantage of office hours since the start of the year, and none of them ever had, she had expected to be able to get away at 12 sharp. Instead, Matt (one of her least favourites) had kept her around until 12:15, at which point she told him she had a meeting and had to leave.
She saw him, the second she rounded the door to the cafe, and thankfully saw nobody else she immediately knew. As he had ordered, she knew she didn’t have to, and took the seat opposite him with a smile.
“Hello.” She replied, “It’s good to see you. How has your week been?” She asked, eager to find out. She had been thinking of little else the entire time since they last spoke.
