when people tag posts "unreality" it's a signal to people who struggle with discerning reality that a (likely scary if believed to be true) post is not real even though it's written as if it was. it's also a filter tag so those people can opt out of seeing posts like that entirely. many people who rely on the unreality tag are psychotic and struggle with paranoia alongside (or because of) the struggles discerning what's real. posts that these people interpret to be real can lead to incredible distress and compulsions.

when someone tags your post "#unreality" and you screenshot the tags and say "what are you talking about? this is real" because you consider the post easy to discern as not real and find this joke funny you're actually just causing paranoia for people who now feel like they can't trust the unreality tag. not everyone has the same reality discernment skills as you. what's "obviously" a fictional story to you may not be obvious to other people.

I don't think most people make this joke maliciously. I think most people making this joke don't even realize why the unreality tag exists. anyways, if you've made this joke or have the urge to make this joke then consider not doing that.

*politely* correcting people is fine. this post is pretty explicitly about sarcasm. if you're not being sarcastic then it's fine to correct people. this post is only talking about sarcasm. people not being sarcastic about this actually helps you because people feel safer trusting that you're not making a joke

and if you think your annoyance at your post being tagged #unreality means that the tag shouldn't be used at all you need to get your priorities straight. be kinder to psychotic people thanks.

i SWEAR i have more but when your ask came all my thoughts left the room but here are the ones i wrote down since then 💔

this first one requires a vulcan hc for it to make sense so i'm just gonna get it out of the way : vulcan youngins aren't allowed to cut their hair until they pass the kahs-wan

・↑ with that being said spock was the last of the children to get his hair cut, which is one of the things that he was bullied very often for

・has always been very susceptible to nosebleeds given the dry and thin atmosphere of vulcan

・wrote a fic for this one but he gets kind of idk cranky in the cold (65 degrees 😭) the same way an angry puppy would

・sleeps like a FUCKING maniac as in clamoring over nothing and ending up sideways and shit + will LIE about it

・↑ unless accompanied then it's just the clamoring over whoever👀 or whatever it is + will STILL lie about it

・this is more of a vulcan headcanon but i'm sure we're all on the same page of vulcans are cats and purring spock but i hc that the purring is not only in means of affection but also to produce more body heat and keep warm

・↑ BUT since spock is away from home he purrs whenever he's feeling homesick and wants a similar warmth like vulcan has (like drinking tea ykwim)

maybe i'll think of more but that's all i got for now ngl
