after seeing an instagram confession im fucking mad and am gonna go off.

STOP USING LIZZIE SALTZMAN'S MENTAL ILLNESS AS AN EXCUSE TO HATE ON HER. it's bullshit. im so fucking tired of people saying she was awful in season one when no, she wasn't. she was a girl dealing with problems that everyone continued to ignore or were ableist about. her own sister said she should just take her pills and everything would be fine. like no bitch that's not the problem here! plus her dad is absent as shit until there's a life threatening situation. she had a right to be mad at hope based on what josie told her happened when they were kids. literally 95% of lizzies problems with hope were because of shit josie lied about for years because she didn't want her crush to be revealed (but oh lets just forget that because hosie and shit). if i see one more person refer to lizzie wishing hope wasn't born as "murdering hope" i will scream because that's not it at all. lizzie just wanted to have her dad back because alaric bitchass saltzman CONTINUALLY IGNORES HIS DAUGHTERS (like...come on). she thought not having hope there would give her her dad back, that's all.

and people think lizzie deserved to get laughed at at her own funeral? WHAT KIND OF FUCKERY IS THIS. the episode before lizzie literally sacrificed herself/safety to do the merge with josie, she did that to protect hope and the school like COME ON. in season one she just wanted to be the hero, to be the good guy - and she wasn't allowed that. she protected pedro form the gargoyle. she held hope as she cried at miss mystic falls. she changed the talent show thing to give josie the spotlight. and again in season two she is trying to help and save people. she wanted to believe that sebastian could be good and had faith in him.

this girl literally helped so many people at that goddamn school (THE SEWING CLUB BITCHES) so that they could be happy there and make friends but they constantly treated her like crap which only made her try harder but no they never saw the good parts of her because she can be a little self involved and sarcastic. they labeled her the mean girl when she's not.

so no, lizzie is not the reincarnation of evil - she never was. everyone paints her as a villain (mainly for season one and getting in the way of precious posie *ugh*) when that's literally not true. im glad that the school finally is going to start getting over the little 'bad' things (which...come on, she hasn't done anything) she did and appreciate the many amazing things she's done for them all. i just wish this toxic fandom could do the same.
