unironically i think sgu was an early victim of whatever media landscape we are in right now. They got two seasons, getting better with each episode, and already in these two seasons we got some absolutely fascinating character development to an extent that, with all due respect, we might not even have seen in sg1 or atlantis. We had really interesting dynamics, mostly platonic, as well as family dynamics of a depth that, again, we don't really see in the two previous shows. and then it got canceled on the biggest cliffhanger in the universe (hah), and all the growth that the character and the show had experienced for two seasons was kept dangling in eternal limbo
