Another abandoned body, just another day in Dock Town, and Neve Gallus is used to working alone on the cases the guards don’t care about. But when she finds herself burdened with a sidekick in the form of an overly chatty dwarf, things get more interesting as one body quickly leads her towards a potential serial killer. Neve and Varric already knew each other during The Missing, this is the story of how they first met.

Man 2025 sure was a year, huh. Not my most productive year, artwise, but I made some finished pieces I'm damn proud of. I also took part in the Dragon Age Big Bang for the first time, and had a really good time (Go read Into the Abyss!!). I also drew a few things for theme weeks, which was fun as hell. Should do that more often tbh.

I must admit I barely did any art in November/December, partially because this year has been So Much and I just ran out of steam, but mainly because I decided it would be a great idea to knit a million socks for Christmas presents. I am now fucking great at knitting socks. I also didn't finish anything last January, probably because January always sucks. Ah well.

Man. I really didn't draw anything but Dragon Age, did I? Maybe I'll try for a little more variety in 2026 XD

Herald!Lorant doesn't have a lot of opportunities to make age appropriate friends, on account of being surrounded by adults who mostly don't know what to do with a child. Luckily, Morrigan shows up with Kieran and they proceed to become besties. They can be Occasionally Ominous Preteens together. I think they're both the kind of kid who likes 'weird' animals, bugs and molluscs and all that. Lorant will pick up a weird bug, Kieran can tell you 20 upsetting facts about it.

A little outfit lineup for Herald!Lorant, featuring design choices I can no longer explain because I drew this like 6 months ago. Oops. I think I was thinking of clothes in terms of a modern AU we've been kicking around since forever, hence the little wellies. Also. Cute.

Fun fact: Arthyr Lavellan is in fact still the Inquisitor in this AU despite the Herald of Andraste being someone else. He accidentally appoints himself Lorant's guardian/tutor after he realises no one in this bloody Inquisition knows how to look after a child, and Creators know he don't trust the shem to treat this poor baby elf right (or teach him any useful magic). Arthyr is a mage also in this AU, so he gets to be the First, and also a Knight-Enchanter.

He does all the fighting, but the Herald is usually the one starting the fights by being a little shit 😌 no one can make him stop when they need his magic hand 😌

More of my AU where the Herald of Andraste is a horrible little gremlin child 💖 here Lorant is asking Solas questions, which as we all know is a great way to raise his approval!

My wife and I have a fun(?) little AU which came from me going "huh, we couldn't really do a Roleswap AU for our canon Inquisitor & Rook, because my Rook would've been an actual child"

Anyway, then we were like... well, what would happen if the Herald of Andraste was a kid? How much harder would it be for the Inquisition to not look like an absolutely insane cult?? Does anyone in this organisation know the first thing about childcare???

So, this is Lorant, aged 11. They were part of the mage delegation along with a couple more of the most innocent and harmless looking apprentices they could find to be a visual reminder that Hey, We Mages Would Love To Not Be Murdered We Have So Many Kids In Our Midst. They obviously wandered off (this child has ADHD) and, well. The rest is history.

Cassandra was fully sure this was just a small adult elf until she heard the voice and got hit with the 🥺 face. Congrats, Cassandra, you traumatized a child (more)! Poor little guy.

If you're wondering why their hair changes colour so often, it's because there was an Incident with a broken Mirror of Transformation in Arlathan forest. Their hair just does that now. Oops.

POV you are Solas and the two guys whose lives who ruined have very different approaches to stopping your bullshit 🥺😡

I refuse to believe the Inquisitor wouldn't get involved in the fight against Elgar'nan - Arthyr certainly tries, but got too injured in the fight to retake Minrathous (sorry king, only way to stop you). Arthyr is Certifiably Normal about Solas, and even at the end he truly, honestly believes that his friend will do the right thing. Lorant respects the Inquisitor enough to give the egg one (1) chance before they start biting.

The last piece! I love all these guys, @lunastarhawk gave them all such distinct voices and fun to draw designs. I had a great time drawing them fighting the Nightmare Demon. Turns out armour is really satisfying to colour and shade!

Okay so I love the Architect, I am a certified Architect Enjoyer™ and a not insignificant part of what drew me to this prompt was the idea of tying together all those loose threads from Awakening with the Fade stuff in Inquisition. @lunastarhawk did a great job making my guy the Architect sinister and weird and up to no good, just as the maker intended.

The second piece I did for @lunastarhawk s big bang fic! Yeah, I just wanted to draw snogging and Favian's powerful tits out look compelled me. Besides, I love drawing Dorian's arse. It's a great arse.
