“It’s nice to meet you, Liz. Well, I got a little tired of my fame in Nashville, had some weird breakdown so my manager and I both decided it would be best for me to take some rest, and here I am, back in Southport.”
“We’ll see about that. Tired of your fame? What was ... well, what is your job, anyway? Welcome back to Southport, we hope you enjoy your stay.”
“Good, well, I am Michael. Yet? That’s good for now, I can live with that.”
“And I’m Elizabeth, but it is too long of a name, so you can call me whatever floats your boat; Liz, Lizzie and all that jazz. Why’d you come back?”
“New face, or else I am a dick for not remembering we have ever met.”
“Well, I don’t remember having met you before, so I wouldn’t consider you a dick ... yet.”
“When you spent seven years in Nashville, it sure feels a bit weird to be back in Southport, but I have actually missed this town so much. I bet there are so many new faces, but I hope to see some old ones too..”
“Am I considered a new face or an old face?”
“I know.”
“So, got a boy toy yet or still a lone wolf?”
“That’s me, I try and make everyone’s day great.”
“What a beautiful ball of sunshine. ”
As soon as Amy was done hitting the car, she jumped from the car. “See… I told you. I am glad it did.” She chuckled, truth be told she didn’t do ever since she’s came back here. “God I really miss this.” She said with a humorous voice.
Elizabeth dropped the bat, making sure it didn’t fall on her feet. “I might have to use this a bit more often, if you don’t mind.” She added, letting out a tiresome little sigh. “When did you last do this?” The girl asked, raising her eyebrows.
“And you’re pathetic. So glad we had this chance to catch up.”
“I really needed to have this conversation with you. It kind of made my day.”
Nice guys still have to work out you know. Uh… coffee sounds so much better than kicking something. Starbucks?
“True, you do have a point there. I guess it does. Starbucks? Yes, please!”
“I mean, it’s at home but yeah if you’re dyin’ to beat on something.”
“Exactly that. Turns out boxing was useful enough, even though my dad was like it’s not included in martial arts and blah blah blah. But, yes, I need to kick or just hit something.”
“Yes but it isn’t something I exactly have on me right now.”
“Can’t you take me where it is?”
“Oh… that isn’t too useful. I bet he does. It’s a guy thing to have. Yeah… Dont break your leg though…”
“He claims to be the nicest guy of all, though. Don’t think he’d have one, but I hope he does. I’ll be fine, but I could skip that and get some coffee. Do you know where to get some?”
“No problem. I know what’s to be like really, really angry. It’s hard to make me angry though but still.” Amy took the bats from trunk, handed to Lizzie. Then climbed on front of the car as smirking. “Watch out the glass.” She hit as hard as she could.
Elizabeth grabbed the baseball bat, holding it tightly. She held it up for a moment and then hit the car with all the power she had. “Now, that ... felt really good.” The girl muttered with a soft grin appearing across her face.
“Oh, a threat. Well, a half-assed one, nice try. Well ain’t that just peachy.”
“You’re just as wannabe-ish as I remember you.”
“Ouch. I’m so hurt. Dead, thanks for asking. What about yours?”
“I was just giving you advice, you’re hurt so easily, babe. Good to know, I could arrange you guys a meeting, if you want. They’re perfect.”
“Solid reason. Let’s go to the backyard, we have my dad’s old car, it’s a junk. Follow me.” She said as walking to the backyard.
“Thank God. And thank you as well.” She replied with a soft nod before beginning to walk towards the backyard. “This is the second time I’m saying thank you this week, wow, this place has ruined me already.”
