It took a while for my moms to start calling me Rakim. It went from making sure I got the garbage out everyday and feeding the dogs where she started seeing that I was taking care of my responsibilities and trying to mature with it. She started respecting it once she seen I was getting more mature and doing what I was supposed to do becoming a man. After that she started calling me Ra man and it was a beautiful thing. My moms is strictly Christian but once I got knowledge of self and started reading she used to love when I would sit there and tell her some of the things that I learned. It gave her an open mind to where she started believing in the most high. Thatās what she started calling it after awhile. She took the name off of it because she used to tell me itās the same God but it just has a different name. So she called it the most high. It was beautiful man. My moms passed away last year. So going through that and getting that respect from moms was gravy on the potatoes man.

How Much A Dollar Cost Ā Kendrick Lamar
BEHOLDER MAKES THE VALUE
This is Kendrickās take on running into God in the form of a homeless man at a gas station. Throughout the song, Kendrick recounts his interactions and feelings towards the homeless man spanning guilt, sympathy, and resentment.
Kendrickās selfishness, to which he attributes his success, eventually comes out most in his interactions with the homeless man. At that point, the man reveals himself to be God.
This song highlights Kendrickās struggle with his fame and the environment that made him. While it may be true that Kendrick paved his own path and arrived at where heās at on his own accord, his success begs the question of whether he could have made it without having grown up where he did.
But having now made it, what should Kendrick do with his fame and power? Should he continue on the pursuit to more fame and money or should he use his platform to make a statement, give back?
YOU MAKE MAJOR CASH AND GIVE IT ALL AWAY, AND YOU MAKE THE PEOPLE DO SOMETHING FOR THE DOE.
