speedrunning drawing eva stratt on my lunch break i love you eva
New Aroace Ryland Grace propaganda I just thought of. Right after he gets the memory of Yao telling him he just needed someone to be brave for, Grace is writing on his whiteboard again and on there you can see he wrote "made friends on ship?" (Or smth close to that).
He assumes that if he was gonna die for anyone it would be a friend. And he's proven right soon enough.
whatever happens next, i do not think it is to be feared. 🌌
my second outer wilds sticker design, this time inspired by echoes of the eye! i wasn't sure of the direction i wanted to go for this one, but i'm happy with it in the end :) ✨

Grace: You're very mysterious.
Stratt, who just very openly shared about being in an Eastern German Youth choir: No I'm not????
I’ve been thinking about the differences between Eridian Radar and human sight and the things that Rocky and Grace would find amazing about the other’s abilities.
Rocky’s radar is amazing because he can “see” through walls, he can “see” the insides of bodies, and his sense is full 360 degrees all the time, unlike eyes which have to be pointed a specific direction. He has a much better sense of space and can easily find hidden objects. When eridians “watch” each other sleep, it’s different from humans watching something because they don’t even have to be in the same room as someone in order to watch them. Rocky could be in the next room, working on stuff, and still have sleeping Grace fully within his scope of radar.
But human sight! Sure, we can only see the surface of things, and if the light goes out we’re useless. But!!! We can see things that are 2D. That’s crazy to Rocky, that we can see things that can’t be touched or heard. We can see color, which gives us a wealth of information about things that eridians are entirely unaware of. Grace explains that humans can walk through a forest full of thousands of textures and easily spot out edible fruit because it’s a bright color. And the distance on sight! It’s incredible. Grace explains the concept of lighthouses, and how one small light can guide ships from miles away through a deafening storm. No eridian could hear that far, and even if they could, the noise of the storm would drown it out. And then there are the stars. Humans can see stars!!! Erid only learned about stars recently but humans have known about them since the very beginning because they can just look up and see across the vastness of space with no technological help. They can see the other planets in their solar system. They can see their own star so powerfully that they can’t even look directly at it. No eridian can hear their own star. And when they’re in space, Rocky is totally blind because sound doesn’t travel through a vacuum - but light does! Grace can see just as well in space as on Earth!
Also, and this is a big one: humans can turn off sight. Grace doesn’t think it’s that cool, but Rocky explains that there’s no way to stop using radar. There’s no way to block out sound completely. Humans can cover their eyes and see nothing if they want to. No distractions, no stimulation. That’s amazing.
I also love the idea of Grace explaining the concept of “see-through” to Rocky and telling him about all the types of transparent materials earth has developed over the years. And there are naturally transparent materials, too! Rocky is very excited to learn that water is transparent.
God I just love the fact that Rocky is just as amazed at human biology as Grace is with Eridian biology.
Thinking about how terrifying space must be in Eridian culture.
For humans, we’ve been looking into space for as long as we’ve existed. We’ve watched and studied the stars, the planets and the sun. We’ve created whole mythologies around them. We didn’t always understand what they were, but we always knew they were there. We can see what’s up there and still the vast emptiness of space scares a lot of people.
Eridians had none of that. But they must have wondered what would be up there if they kept going up, the same way our sailors wondered what lay beyond the horizon. So like we built ships to explore the ocean, they built up higher and higher into the sky. As they get higher and higher, it becomes harder to hear their surroundings. There's less ambient noise and even deliberately created sounds don't travel as far. Then at a certain point there's nothing. A totally silent void.
It's as if our sailors had set out and found that there was an edge to the world, with nothing beyond that.
Maybe by this point they've built instruments to detect electromagnetic waves, but maybe they haven't, or it just doesn't occur to them right away once their own senses fail them that there might be other signals to measure up there.
But from an Eridian point of view, the world simply ends when you reach a vacuum and that's terrifying. Even when they do start to observe the stars and the rest of their solar system, it's still not something they can experience for themselves. For them it's just a dark void of nothing.
As soon as the Blip A set off, the Eridians on board would have become totally cut off from Erid, their entire observable world confined to the ship. Rocky spent 46 years alone with that, only being able to read his surroundings through measurements on a screen. I can't imagine how terrifying that would be.
oh Olesya Ilyukhina how you will be missed
You're very mysterious. No, I'm not.
EVA STRATT | PROJECT HAIL MARY (2026)
Child Grace staring out his window wondering if aliens are real while Rocky was already waiting on that ship, pressed against a similar wall wondering when someone would come
More burns. Part 1
“Our curiosity goes with you on your journey. You walk in the footsteps of those who came before you, and your path guides those who will follow later.”
This is so stupid…
You know when Stratt gives three hours for Grace decide what he thought it was "go in the mission or not", but actually was "go by his own will or go screaming and kicking"?
I think she did this for herself. She was hoping he would volunteer, trying to give herself a chance for a clean conscience at least on this matter. She would never admit it, but she wished so hard he would make things easiest for her. That he would give her a chance to say a proper goodbye. Because, after all, she cares about him (at least on the film, I didn't read the book yet)
In the draft script Stratt acc got Grace a whole ice-cream machine 😭😭😭 Anyways had to draw
