Benefits of using multi-camera for a soap

The benefits of using multi-camera on a soap set is that it will save a lot of time because you wont have to act out scenes more than once as the multiple cameras would get different angles at the same time.This can be helpful on a soap set because they usually have tight schedule so this will give them more time on the acting and editing.

Furthermore, having a live audiences reaction will be beneficial as it will provide feedback to the writer, for example if the audience laugh then it will show to the viewers that its funny and boost the actors confidence.

Finally there would be less continuity errors whilst using multi-camera because the scenes will all be acted at once meaning there is less chance for someone to move or change there appearance.

Benefits of using multi-camera for a news report broadcast

The advantages of using multiple camera on a news set is that you will be able to switch from different cameras to get different viewers of the set. for example if you wanted to go straight from a news story to the weather then you could switch to the weather cam without any time being wasted on trying to set up the camera. The weather report would have to be on a green screen so couldn't be on the same set. 

Another advantage for the use of multi-camera is that some news reports will be done live so when they need to switch from different camera to see other angles they will be able to do so with no bother of setting up new cameras. This again will save a lot of time on set and for the viewer watching the report, if it was to take to long to which angles then the viewer might switch channel and the news station will then lose viewers but will multi-camera this shouldn't occur.

Finally by having multiple cameras on set it will allow them to use there imagination to make the news report more interesting to the viewers by using different camera shots and different angles

Benefits of using multi-camera for a game show

The advantages of using multiple cameras on a game show set is that the reaction of the crowd and players will only happen once and if they didn't capture it then they might not be able to use the shot if they used a single camera , however if they have multiple cameras they will be able to get multiple reactions and then use the one they they found the best. 

Another advantage of using multiple cameras is that it will save the camera crew a lot of time as they will be able to get different angles at once without having to move the cameras around and only have to act the scene out once. Normally multi-cameras can take quite a while to set up, however with it being on a game show the set will stay set up so you wouldn't have to worry about this issue.

Furthermore the editing will be made a lot easier because it will have already been done during production using a vision mixing desk, this will again save more time and keep continuity. By saving time on a game show it will be very beneficial as they normally work on tight schedule.

There will be less continuity errors by using multi-camera as the scenes will be acted as one and wont be stopped. When the filming stops people can change positions and this is what causes continuity errors but will multiple cameras there is less chance of this happening rather than single camera.

Head writer

The Head writer will control and oversee the writing team for the certain production that they are writing for. Their responsibilities will be to make sure that everything is on schedule and that it is done to a professional standard so that it will be appropriate for television and radio.

Researcher

The researcher will research all the relevant content that they need for the project ahead of the shooting time so that they are prepared for recording, by them gathering all the research they will increase the truth and have more knowledge on background information. the researcher will report the information to the director, producer and writer so that they have relevancy to the event that they want to portray.

Set designer

The set designer will work with the director and other members of the production team to create an environment that the production can work in, they will work with the director and producer because they will need to convey their ideas into a real life set and make sure that its shown how they want it to be.The responsibilities of the set designer will be to make sure that all the props are set up correctly and that the design of the set suits the scene.

Producer

The main role of a producer is to create content for the show and to make sure that it is completed right the way through to the end. Their responsibilities are creating ideas and making them ideas real, they will also make sure that the script has all come together to suit the screen play. They will see it thrown until the end of the prerecording  or the live show to make sure everything went to plan.

Assistant producer

The assistant producer will set up the scene for the part that they are filming, they will work with the researchers, director, executive producer, script writers and presenters. They will all work together and start with an idea that they want to do and then and then mold it into something that will be a finished film. An example of a Assistant Producer is Gavin Whitehead who works with Top Gear and explained his responsibilities as making sure all the cars are ready for filming and that they are ready for any guessed interviews that they have planned.

Multi camera is a method of filmmaking where there will be several cameras set up to record a scene or a shot. The reason why people will use multi camera is because there is less chance of making continuity errors because you can film everything in one go rather than stopping and staring like you would with a single camera.
