How Strong Is My Team?

I constantly find myself evaluating the people I spend the majority of my time with, not like the investigative judgement based type evaluations, but just a quick check to see if my social circle is serving me in a positive way, and consequently whether i'm doing the same.

When it comes to the people you work with, these evaluations become even more important. Starting a business venture with just a few friends, you learn quickly how to perform many different roles and responsibilities, but most importantly you learn you CN'T do everything alone.

When family and friends offer their energies, take it. Spend time with ya folks and identify things they're good at or passionate about, develop these skills and relationships in a very mutually beneficial way. Of course, it's important to not always hire friends and family, but in the early stages of your venture these early adopters are crucial to long-term progress.

Our family at About That Gap is a reminder to us everyday how important it is to have a strong team, by all means, show some love as she does some amazing things.

On my first half marathon, I tied Yusuf’s best half marathon time. He stepped up his game after that. Although he’s not here physically, his spirit is with me every time I lace up my shoes and run. Running keeps me looking great physically and with the stress and demands that life puts on me mentally, it has become my therapy.
