silverining:
Haeri’s fighting laughter, for many reasons. One it’d be impolite and she’s more than that person who would have outright laughed a few years ago. She’s like, an updated version of her own software, you know. Microsoft has stepped up, Apple has–somewhat done the same, ugh who is she kidding. She’s not a computer, a program or a software, that’s her strength, she’s human! She has emotions, feelings and sometimes they just simply disagree with everything a painter wanted to put in his painting, it’s not a bad thing.
It’s human, there, the absolute perfect reason to open her mouth and speak frankly, freely. As Haeri should always do.
“Whatever the intention, they should just accept that some people, me for example, are going to be looking at this piece of–art–and judge it by the things it reminds them of, because what the hell kind of white is that, I’ve never seen this shit in my whole goddamn life and I’ve played around with white my whole goddamn life. Lexi, Lexi!”
The name is repeated after the rambling with Haeri lightly tapping Lexi’s arm, but then the nudge gets a bit rougher and rougher until she’s grasping it and then tugging her closer to her side, “This isn’t worth it. I know better places, with cheaper but much, much, more interesting artists to spark a little something in your not so little mind.”
Lexi’s not an expert on the stuff, sure she can talk a little about it, and she can even produce her own mess when she’s ready but that’s brain stuff. That’s subjective stuff. What isn’t subjective is when something just - isn’t making sense and it’s not a brain thing. It’s not a matter of understanding it’s just people making a living. At this point a name gets them a few grand and whether it’s good or not she has to stare at it and pretend it is. Well - she doesn’t have to but she promised she’d work on her etiquette.
The gallery isn’t that full though, and she hadn’t let it slip that she was coming here. Hadn’t posted on her instagram or anything about her whereabouts. So if a little slip happens she wouldn’t be in trouble, in fact she’d feel more relieved, which prompts:
“I’ve seen the color before - it kinda looks like he let his load out all over the canvas. Which I mean - I can’t think of a scenario where I’d accept that. It’d make for a interesting album cover.” It’s lewd and premature and it’s exactly what Lexi likes to be. She feels the comfort slip in almost instantly and the worries slide off.
“I could see Dean doing that.” She says that as an afterthought though before her laughter finally follows Haeri’s, body falling prey to her movements and suggestions all at once. “Okay okay lead the way Haeri the All-Knowing!”
