Labyrinth is still the perfect movie. It’s still my favorite, my absolute comfort movie, the pinnacle of shitty wizardry. The perfect narrative - a flawed girl solving a mystery/puzzle/curse that is also a metaphor, and unlocking some secret power of adulthood inside herself at her journey’s lowest point. Also there’s a hot wizard animus shadowing her steps who is fighting her??? But whose influence is absolutely necessary for the girl to journey, to learn to see herself in the mirror, to learn more about herself and grow and change???

Am I talking about Labyrinth, Beauty and the Beast, The Last Jedi..??? I don’t know, the narrative is perfection and the movies that use it are my favorites forever
