But it’s what I do. I’m not sure how the light in your smile would be about myself anyway. The compliment is never for me.
What you do is not necessarily who you are, it’s a mask.

Perfect. I will for sure keep that in mind. And I will see if I can find any classes around for them. If push comes to shove I am sure there are some videos or live streams.Â
I have a little workout studio in my home, you are welcome to join me anytime.

Quinn’s brows raised in a look of disbelief. She hadn’t realized Rachel would have said yes to such an arrangement– but then again, looks could be deceiving and so far, Rachel was throwing surprises at her at every turn. She grimaced lightly between bites of her food at the image of a young Rachel being treated like that. She purposefully nodded too, to make sure the girl knew she was actually listening and not just here for the ride and food. “Alright.” She started, instinctively rubbing her hands together over her food, to get rid of the bits of crumbs. “First, that director was a bag of dicks. And more important than that, was he at least cute? I mean..” She paused, making a face of discomfort. “..I can’t help but think you got, like, taken advantage of, in a way. Your naivety, I mean.” She clarified at the end, “Regardless, that sounds hard. Are you..okay? I know that’s a weird thing to ask..considering everything.” She sheepishly asked.Â
“I wasn’t naive, I knew exactly what I was doing.” Her obsession for attention had gotten the best of her, hell that was the very reason she was now a stripper. She had to be in the spotlight, she didn’t know how to live without being noticed. Laughing she nodded. “I mean, I kissed my dream goodbye for the meantime at least I’m sure at some point I may be able to go to the West End without a problem but I’ll never be able to go back to New York. Maybe I’ll join a tour company.” She shrugged. “I’m okay though, I have a job that I actually like and I’m making good money. I’ll be okay, I’ll always be okay.”

Quinn listened with rapt attention, eyes focused and not hooded with being severely fucked up for once. She turned a bit in the car, her body sort of facing Rachel’s direction, a leg tucked under the other with her food settled on top for her to munch on. She narrowed her gaze at the girl– she was far too nonchalant about this. There was more to it– but she wouldn’t push. She knew how it felt to be bothered about something and not want to be pushed about it– especially when it came to people she wasn’t close with. “What?” She gave Rachel a look of disbelief. “That’s crazy. You don’t sound like a laughing stock, Rach. Just continue. I’m listening.” She pursed her lips before adding, “Really, don’t stop. I’m already invested.” She joked a little.Â
She laughed lightly and twirled the end of a strand of hair between her fingers. “So things just sort of continued, he got what he wanted and I was a star of my dream role. The entire thing was mutually satisfying so it wasn’t like it was all about sex on his side so it was whatever after a while. However...” Rachel said as she took a sip of her drink. “When award season came and we didn’t win anything he sort of lost it. He ended the show and outed me to all the big wigs of Broadway for sleeping with him to get to the top. So blackballed from getting any sort of role ever again I came back to Europe. My dads are still a big deal in the West End so I didn’t dare go back to London, even if they thankfully don’t know, and moved here instead.”

Quinn let out a soft chuckle at the mention of her story. She recalled their text conversation from about an hour ago– the brief little taste of Rachel Berry’s supposed eventful backstory– particularly, the sexual sabotage. At the very least, Quinn was intrigued. Rachel was attractive, yes– but she had such an innocent vibe around her that it was hard to imagine anything otherwise. “So I guess we’ll build up to the uh..” She paused, “sexual sabotage, you mentioned?”Â
She cleared her throat and thought of where to begin. It was quite traumatic when she thought about it and honestly if she hadn’t stopped giving two shits months ago she would probably be in therapy. Instead she chose to give in to her new rep and need for applause to live and chose the complete opposite and chose a new career that made sense to the new her. “So I moved to New York when I was 18, fully prepared to live the American dream on Broadway but it wasn’t happening. When auditions for Funny Girl opened I was first in line. I was a shoe in for the part but the director saw me in a different light.” She shrugged taking a breathe and putting her mind into savage mode to not show emotion about it. “It was fairly simple, have an affair with him or have no role.” Rachel looked at Quinn and shrugged again. “Should I stop? I probably sound like a laughing stock already.”

Less than 7 hours of sleep a night can decrease life expectancy.Â
So, maybe you should try get some more, be that in the morning or evening.
I am incredibly healthy, but thank you for your concern.
poppypierce·:
... I make up for that time in the evening when I assume you’re long in bed, love.
That is where assumption can get you wrong. I am usually getting home around 1am and then I’m getting to sleep and I’m up at 5:30 sometimes 5:45 if I need an extra lie in.
poppypierce·:
Not if you specifically choose later classes and skip all morning lectures and watch them online instead.
I still don’t understand how one can just not be up in the mornings. You’re literally wasting time.

“Why’s that?” she mused as she mulled over what she’ll be getting. She wasn’t too hungry at the moment but she knew the munchies would kick in at some point, so she wanted to make sure she at least got a snack. “Um…anything with bacon. Tacos with the most bacon on it would be ideal.” She let out a breath, winding down from her high a little more. “Thanks.” She added.Â
“Oh yes, I suppose it would be time for my story.” She mused as she went through the drive thru and ordered what appeared to be the best thing for Quinn and then something vegan oriented for herself. Pulling off to the far end of the lot she parked and turned towards the pink haired girl. “It’s not a problem, really but you are welcome.”

I’ve written books, series, novels, and books of poetry. Speaking of the beauty in the world is what I do.
Okay, sure but that’s not exactly about you but what you make up for an audience.Â
poppypierce·:
I was a student, babe.
Pardon my confusion as I didn’t do any post schooling, but I’m fairly certain classes start early.
poppypierce·:
Oh, dear god. It gets worse. I haven’t seen earlier than 9am in oh so many years. And 9am is still a very rare occurrence reserved only for examinations.Â
How is that even possible?
finbecks‌:
I’m a writer.
That’s not exactly much of an explanation.Â
poppypierce·:
You work out daily?Â
I can’t imagine ever moving that much. Most exercise I’ve ever got is walking to the nearest form of public transport in toon.Â
Of course I do! 6:15am every day.

Quinn nodded in understanding slowly. “Yeah, yeah, I guess you’re right.” She looked over at the girl. “That isn’t something you should have to get used to, though. But..yeah, totally get it.“ She gave the girl a bit of an incredulous look– her brows quirked and lips in a small grimace. “I’m sure you’re glad to be out of school then, given all that?”
“I was more than glad to be out, I headed for America, which thinking about it now I probably should have just headed for the West End for my career instead.” She mused as she turned into the Taco Joint. “What will be your food of choice? My treat of course.”
poppypierce·:
I can imagine. Yeah, you do that, babe. I hope your ankle is better soon too.
Thank you, my ankle was much better after the proper heat and ice care over the course of about twenty four hours. It was very unfortunate because I couldn’t do my daily workout but I managed.Â
