Catching a Raider was one thing, but having them willingly help you was another.
After Team Akuta and Team Child successfully crash landed out of the Raiders trash beast, Fu's been stuck to the hip with the group.
To say that you weren't also getting attached to the nervous wreck of a boy would be an understatement.
You quickly grew to enjoy his quiet company and even offered to tag along with the groups or teams he would be assigned to join until he was seen as an official member of Team Akuta.
Today's mission was a little complicated. Most of Team Akuta at the moment were busy with other trash beasts or had their day off so it was only you, Fu, Zanka, and Gris on this mission - meaning you might not be able to call for back up if things started going south.
"Zanka! On your right!" Gris yelled out as another trash beast popped out of the ground and charged at Zanka again, keeping the giver cornered.
Meanwhile you were still fending off the other two trash beasts that had you back against one of the old fallen buildings that turned to debris.
Turns out that your team undermined the trash beasts that were actually present in the area.
The town people mentioned spotting one trash beast but after defeating it more seemed to pop out from the ground.
You told Fu to take cover while you and Zanka activated your Vital instruments to fight but the more trash beasts you fought, more seemed to show up to replace them.
Gris was also barely hanging on himself, sure he was strong but the trash beast's immense strength still seemed to give him trouble.
As you tried to pry off the trash beasts on top of you, you spotted Fu out of the corner or your eyes huddled against a pile of debris.
Your eyes locked for a moment as you felt your consciousness begin to slip, the trash beast only getting heavier over you and its jaw open and ready to bite.
It all happened very quickly.
First the trash beast almost closed its mouth over your head and suddenly you were being carried off onto one of the old buildings by someone.
once you looked up your eyes landed on...Fu? No, this was someone else.
He flashed a shark toothed grin at you and laughed at your expression.
"Hey! Are you still there?"
"Its Hii!" Wait. the cursed doll? Fu's cursed doll?
The boy tightened his grip on you as he fell down back onto the ground and placed you back on your feet.
Once you were safe and sound, his hair fell back over his eyes and the familiar worried expression over Fu's face came back.
"O-oh, please tell me I-I didn't hurt you!"
"uh...No? I mean, partially yes..."
You couldn't even hear the rest of what the poor boy said, your eyes closed as you finally laid down, exhausted from all the fighting you've been doing.
