Gifted Review: Gifted isn’t a movie with any major surprises in it’s plot, and it could certainly be accused of being a little to saccharine, but it’s not a bad film, and the cast especially should be given props for their work. The film as a whole is decently put together, with neither any major problems nor major positives in the score, cinematography, or editing. The script felt a bit lacking in several places, and as I mentioned, the plot is textbook in many ways. However, the cast was quite strong. Evans in particular gives a commendable performance, infusing what would otherwise be weak scenes with emotional gravitas. Spencer also does a solid job, although she is not on screen much. Slate felt a bit off, but perhaps that is due to her previous roles more than anything. Grace is very good for an actress her age, in particular severeal scenes with her and Evans manage to be emotionally gut-wrenching despite the sub-standard script. Overall, not a hugely standout movie, but a good job from the cast, with a few key scenes being very well done. Overall Grade: B
