Intrigued: The Lover's Guide Movie
After reading the plot, a couple of things caught my interest. Who is Mary Whitehouse? Turns out she was a conservative activist, so it tracks why she does what she does, turning the media against the two producers. The mention of AIDS: While The Lover’s Guide wasn’t an HIV-specific campaign, it indirectly helped the fight against AIDS by promoting safer sex, reducing stigma, and spreading accessible, non-judgmental sexual health education to the mainstream—exactly the kind of cultural shift needed during a public health crisis. The guides were quite popular, and sold millions of copies and translated into 13 languages for 22 other countries. This was a cultural shift and a memorable event in UK history.
When will we see a casting announcement ? Most likely when the project moves to "In-Production" and that could take awhile, maybe 2-4 months.
