Hi friends, I'm participating in the Last Minute Gifts campaign in supporting the Al Manasra family's evacuation and life saving medical aid for the mother. Organized by @ezrazone and @pollyguo!

We have one week to help this family evacuate and many artists have decided to pool their skills to offer you sweet holiday gifts to support the fundraiser! Within 48 hours of this campaign, we've boosted donations to reach the 15k needed for this week and will continue until we can meet the larger goal to cover their survival detailed in Ezra's post here! - This is what collective power can do! I'm offering 5 commission slots for min $50 (1 of my commission spots is already claimed!), or a digital comics bundle of some recent and most loved work for $25! This is the only way to read my newest comic outside of my city since CUPW is till on strike. THIS WEEK ONLY! Until December 14!

Shortbox Comics Fair ended a week ago and I’ve gotten my sales breakdown and payment by now, so shocking…I couldn’t have imagined this much interest and support for my comics debut, thanks so much to everyone who bought CLUMP! I’ll be able to donate a lot of money across several causes for Palestine, Sudan, and Congo! In the next week I’ll be sorting out where donations will go and share breakdown and proof of donations to wrap up this whole project.

I couldn’t have raised so much without SBCF giving me the platform and all the cool people who gave CLUMP a chance by picking it up ♥️ CLUMP is a story I wrote together with a friend of mine (she was fine with being left off for SBCF but will be credited in future releases!!…ooo mysterious…) and we have more in mind for CLUMP before we call it done. Anyway these are the people I would like to thank for making the comic and donations possible 🫶

Most of us are fortunate enough to live in places that, when we need to drink some water, wash the dishes, or shower, it isn't even something we need to think about. It's just the flick of a tap or the push of a button. That ease is a faint memory for so many in Gaza, especially the little kids who have to walk far & queue for hours, just to get a gallon or two of water for their families to last the day.

1 gallon = ~3L -> most people in the global north rely on anywhere from 80 to 350L a day. you should be drinking ~3L a day, forget everything else

(obvious point but) dehydration sucks -> that feeling of your throat and tongue sticking every time you swallow, your heart pounding so hard and fast you can feel each beat in your extremities, the blood rushing in your ears as you pant, feeling dizzy and the pressure building up into a headache, being relentlessly tired all the time & struggling to focus. and that's just if you're mildly dehydrated. severe dehydration can lead to death (kids under 2 & the elderly are particularly vulnerable to this). chronic dehydration can lead to long-term (& easily avoidable) illness (e.g., anything from kidney stones to kidney damage)

lack of clean water = lack of basic hygiene = spread of disease (e.g., hepatitis A -> 40,000 recorded cases of HepA in Gaza from Oct. 2023 to Oct. 2024. In the previous year, it was 85).

Water insecurity is a daily, terrifying reality for people in Gaza. But there's a way for us to help! Faten & her family are hoping to raise the funds to buy 2 large water tanks (~1000L each) to act as an immediate water point for themselves and around 30 other households. The aim is about $7,500 USD to get this set up (2 tanks + cost of filling them + cost of gas required to move them).

Before the news hit that UNRWA would be banned from operating in Gaza, the water situation in Gaza was nothing short of catastrophic. Miles of sewage lines, water mains, desalination plants, wells, water tanks, have been deliberately targeted, destroyed, prevented from operating, or contaminated. Even engineers sent in to fix water mains have been targeted and killed.

UNRWA has been critical to the delivery of both food and water aid to people trapped in Gaza, and now it's being pushed out of the Strip.

Please donate what you can spare, this is incredibly important.

Faten & her family survived hell on earth in Nuseirat just 2 short weeks ago. The entire time they were there was spent under relentless bombing, shelling, and gunfire. When it wasn't that, it was the rain that flooded their tent while they slept. Now, the terror is that they won't be able to pay their rent, and the several young kids in the family (Faten's little brother, sister, and her niece and nephews) will be forced to live in the tent again just as winter hits

There's just €38 to reach that initial €500 goal

From there: €350 to reach the new goal (this is for rent)

There's about 16hrs to help this family afford the absolute bare minimum for the next several days & to have a proper shelter.

As you know, Farah (@farahmoo2) has recently started her studies again in hopes of graduating high school in February. She, along with 13 other girls, meet in an old barber's shop nearly everyday to study. Farah gets ride to "school" from her beloved family donkey. Despite the slow internet and having to use her phone as a textbook, she's been finding the work easy and understands everything. Her favourite subject is chemistry :)

It's only when she hears warplanes overhead does her mind freeze, and she then can't concentrate on anything.

Shahd (@shah599) is also studying, and has been taking a lot of exams lately. The medical field is a competitive one, and the work is challenging. She's continuously working hard everyday towards her dream of becoming a pharmacist.

Nesma (@nesmamomenn / @nesmamomen) is currently in her last year of university. For her courses, she needs better internet than what her family uses, but unfortunately she has to pay $2 an hour for it. Consider also supporting Nesma here.

Cold weather is approaching, and the days are getting shorter. The winds are also picking up, making tent damage more likely.

Please support Farah, Shahd, and Nesma with their studies this winter. They are now needing more money for internet, light, school supplies, and protection from the cold.

I lost my job as a teacher because of the war. I owned two houses, which were partially destroyed and then burned. I lost a lot of my furniture. Because of the destruction, we were displaced to the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis. Now, I, my four children and my husband live in a tent and suffer from severe shelling, lack of food, water, health care and all the necessities of life. During this war, my children fell ill with hepatitis. We find treatment only with difficulty. Insects have multiplied in the tents, epidemics and diseases have spread, and we suffer from difficulty in obtaining the necessities of life, extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter. In addition, the tents have become worn out and water has entered the tents, damaging everything in them, and the water has reached our clothes, in addition to the shortage of cleaning materials and their high prices. This war has cost us a lot of what we own: housing, money, friends, and health. Now all I want from you is to help me and my children rebuild our future and start a new life.

I am going through a difficult day with the Israeli army's siege on Jabalia in northern Gaza. My family is trapped, and my uncle was shot by a sniper. We are trying to get him medical help. The siege has led to the death of more than 400 people, including my uncle, who has bled severely.
