Naturism on a Damp Cold Bank Holiday!
Late August Bank Holiday Monday here in the UK is traditionally rather cool and uninviting. The temperature was 14 C but the wind was chilly, making it feel more like 11 C! This is the last of the English Bank Holidays before Christmas and not long before children return to school. For the hard working Brits, these holidays make a long weekend are looked forward to for leisure activities and holidays. They are however, often disappointing in terms of weather.
My husband was insistent that we get out whatever, in spite of any reluctance from me! We braved the cool weather and set off on one of our favourite local walks; from Calder Head, up toward Thievely Pike. With Thievely Scout in the background we set off up the trail.
Naturism is not for the faint hearted when it is cool or cold. Around here we use the word 'nesh' for someone who feels delicate and susceptible to cold weather. It is a put down :-) While I might feel really 'nesh' at times, I adore being clothes free so this had to be done.
It is strange, but if you wear ANY clothing at all, the minute you take it off you start to shiver and feel cold. This is when most people reach for something warm to put on! However, an outdoor temperature of 14 C is perfectly okay to be out in nature naked, believe me! I started off (to walk initially along the road) with a simple cotton pique dress but nothing else (apart from boots and socks). The moment I began to remove it , I felt cold. Here is the moment! (I always smile when someone points a camera at me, why wouldn't I?) You don't want to see me frowning on this blog no matter how cold I feel!
10 minutes after this however, I began to get used to the cool temperature and stayed clothes free. My husband taught me that this is the way it works. Although I have been a naturist for many years it used to be only warm days and indoors!
On this walk you are climbing uphill the whole time. Exercise makes a girl warm. By the time we got up to a neglected little picnic are by Thievely Forest we were ready for a break. There are some lovely stone slabs to sit on to take a rest.
You might associate rock slabs with being cold, yet after the sunnier weather last week, the slabs still retain their warmth. It always feels nice to gaze at the view over this wonderful value, take in nature and feel a true part of it. You can only truly appreciate that while naked. This is the way we are born.
It is also how nature intended us to be. There is nothing shameful in a naked woman, no matter what others might say. Naturism is non-sexual nudity. We celebrate the beauty of our nakedness and it is so life affirming. Naturism helped me with body positivity too. It is okay to be naked if you have scars (I have one from near fatal peritonitis as a child) or whatever body shape or age you are. You need to be comfortable with your body as it is the only one you'll get. This is how you were created. We are all perfect in our imperfections and should celebrate that.
My husband doesn't rest and sit awhile on rocks and stone slabs though but he did pass his camera to me so that I could take his photograph.
It is fine for men to be naked outdoors in nature too. A man's simple naked body is not intrinsically sexual, offensive or shameful either. Neither is nudity a safeguarding issue. British Law protects the rights of naturists to be clothes free while doing normal activities outdoors. Naturism is held to be a deeply held philosophical belief and respected, thank goodness. I write and share this healthy lifestyle blog to promote that belief and demonstrate how much personal benefit it brings :-)
We hope you enjoyed reading our article. It is intended for an 18+ naturist audience or those who are naturally inclined/naturist curious. If that is you, please like, share and re-blog as widely as possible. We welcome messages of support and questions from like minded people. Please do not expect me to respond to questions of a sexual nature however. I won't. This is not a sexually themed blog.
If you simply want to look at naked pictures and skip the text, don't worry, we're not hear to judge. Even if you have a curiously empty blog with a sexually suggestive name, we won't block you; that isn't our bag. Like many people we enjoy really great sex, we just don't share it on this blog.
Enjoy your day!
Jane xx
