Reflection
I am very proud of how it turned out. The project was heavy on concept and consideration especially for the content. I had to remove many initial ideas for it to be do-able in the present day. Finally settling on 3 tasks for each phase, I think the book length is appropriate for a guide book.
The party checklist was interesting to research on. Every party/event can be broken down into categories of what one may need when organising. I had to filter information and included the essential concepts while keeping the introverts I'm targeting in mind.
The postcards were imaginary. As the project is of projecting 50 years in the future and imagining what we want to 'bring back,' I opted for a futuristic address. The postcards also represent the phases clearly and explains how the badges relate to the whole thing.
I enjoyed working and experimenting with resin. Imagine working on a very corrosive, sticky, poisonous, liquid-y clay and you'll have resin. It has many restrictions on the creation of its form which makes it facinating to work with.
The vectors on the resin badges are representative of the phases. The first "pulse" is a play on restarting the heart of someone whos cold and hardened. After that it represents 'self development', 'community' and 'experimental'. Experimental is representing by firework-looking vectors.
Everything in the package is in harmony with the black/white with red/green accents theme. Even the back of the resin badges are red.
The overall packaging turned out better than I expected. Even though the blacks faded at the edges, it was fixed with some acrylic paint to give it a blacker black. I like how sleek it turned out, having the futuristic context in mind.
Overall I'm proud of this project and learnt alot especially since it did demonstrate the phases of design (analytical, creative, execution) very clearly and how to be a social designer.

Resin badges : the making of
On a side note. Resin on sculpey works albeit a little frosty. Interesting result, the resin produced isnt as hard as when using moulds; it is still malleable after a week. Strange.
The making of : Resin badges.
Test on adding pins to the back of the badges was successful but need be careful about getting wet resin on on the pins because they're impossible to pull apart after that.
Vectors as accents in book
Phases to overcome social awkwardness
Phase 1 = SELF DEVELOPMENT 01. Today ask a stranger for directions
02. Today observe an extroverted friend
03. Today compliment someone in your life.
PHASE 2 = COMMUNITY
04. Today sign up for a new hobby
05. Attend an event solo
06. Today volunteer at a community centre
PHASE 3 = EXPERIMENTAL
07. Today ask out someone completely out of your league
08. Today visit someone at their home
09. Today organise a party
Making the box.
Test print on semi-glossy paper
Notes :
Paper doesnt seem to know if it wants to be glossy or matte. To pick between either
Colours appear green but its a pleasant surprise.
To complete content
Container box facade to hold 3D objects, book and other print things.
