FAQ:

Do you take “non western” bands?

Absolutely! But, if they’re not on western music streaming/pirating platforms, or their websites are not in English, I will be more limited in ways I can make them accessible. You would need to provide those links. I will tag with the town/city and country.

What counts as a local band?

To avoid the goddamn minefield this question is, if you’re considering submitting them, just go for it. If I don’t think it’s local enough, who cares. We’re here to share music, and if they have 5 listeners or 5,000 listeners, someone could enjoy their music. Though I will suggest, if you’d feel comfortable posting about them without feeling like you’re doxxing yourself, I’d suggest blogging about them on your main.

Can I submit solo artists?

Yep!

Is self promo okay?

As long as you disclose that you are part of the band, and you follow the general guidelines, go right ahead :)

Hey! Theres this new band from Philadelphia that just released their first single “20 Milligrams.” It’s a mix of punk, post hardcore and a little jazzy. They have an EP coming out in late November too with some heavier music. You can find them on Instagram and TikTok @riotdiner

there’s this cool band called Lake Drive that I saw at summerfest on the 4th that I was surprised to find out only have 3,000 Spotify listeners. I saw then in Milwaukee, and I think that’s where they’re from :-)

Left to right their names are Rayven (I know. emo ass), Trevor, Brandon, and Adam. My gf’s an emo and it brought me to a little show of their’s about a month back and they were SUCH good performers. We got to talk to them before and after their set and my gf has become friends with Rayven! (Its seen them a few times before and after the show I went to) They’re all so sweet and I have some Stories about them. Let’s just say they carry on the proud tradition of Pop Rock Stage Gay. Update saw lake drive again tonight, and when Rayven saw me. not even a hello he just said “did you post about me on tumblr.” 😭

We goofed ab stage gay for a few with Brandon (the other half of Brayven) and then he grabbed a sharpie off the table and had Brandon write. Well

He also talked ab how they had a good laugh at the “(I know. Emo ass)” and he pulled out his license to prove that it’s not a stage name hahaha

Anyways they fucking rocked and the show was so goddamn good. Jokes aside, they’re one of if not the kindest bands Ive had the pleasure of meeting, and go steam their new EP!

Rich Robbins! Chicago-based rapper whose debut album, Soft & Tender, explores Black fatherhood and is dedicated to his dad. Two of my favorite songs of his are “Coffee Mug” and “It’s Not Your Fault”. I saw him when he opened for Dessa at her show in Chicago, and really enjoyed it. He’s a relatively new artist with about 2k listeners on Spotify :)
