Sometimes when I listen to music I pay attention to the editing to see if they cut the singer's breath before he sang. And I love hearing Vessel's breaths. It's so good to hear him filling his lungs to nail every note.

Yes, I'm weird, and I became even weirder after speech therapy school.

Sleep Token Get out of Plato's cave...

I really like Plato's cave. It's something that I was actually not familiar with until I found Sleep Token. I saw it mentioned a couple of times and then I started to research it a bit.

That's still my fave video about it.

“the myth of the hero who brings wisdom, symbolized by light or fire in a world of ignorance symbolized by darkness....”

“Do you like the way it feels? Like fire from the heavens?”

Something that awakens you to a deeper truth

I always saw and still see Sleep Token lyrics a bit like Plato's cave. They can send you on a hero's journey. They can lead to a deeper understanding of life, human emotions, our dark sides,.....all sorts of things.

They kind of said that in one of their very rare interviews:

"There exists a considerable body of art that explores the deeper recesses of the human mind...." "The music is a representation of one Individual's deepest and most fundamental emotions and desires. They see themselves in this indivdual and the music becomes about them."

Vessel does not tell you what to do though. It's like a journey. And so is the hero's journey in Plato's cave.

Instead of being "preachy" about ceretain things, Vessel speaks in metaphors and invites you to look deeper into yourself. To face yourself.

At least that's how I responded to their lyrics.

Of course you can just sing along and that's it :)

I get that this post was meant as a joke btw but I'm bored XD...not much going on in the fandom. So yes Sleep Token...please leave your cave again XD ?!
