a dumb two part poem by me

I want to fly like icarus

i want to fly as high as he went and feel the burn of the wax run down my spine as i fall into the cold depths of the ocean with the breeze running through my hair

i want to fly higher than he could ever imagine

i want to laugh louder and brighter

to feel as free as he did

and to sink into the depths

deeper than will he ever know

as i sink the sunlight will shine into the darkness

it does not warm the water around me

but it alludes to the warmth that should have been there

it lays over my resting place like a blanket

to comfort me as i sink down to my final rest

i watch the sun sparkle and dance on the surface of the ocean

i hope i come back as the sunlight so i may dance as freely as i did before

the wax feels cool like i felt before
