WHAT?! YOU’RE BEING SERIOUS?!
I fuckin swear Changbin, if you scream one more goddam time, I’LL MAKE SURE YOU’LL NEVER SPEAK AGAIN!
Sorry Hyung. But seriously?! Wait… where is she now?!
Don’t we all like to know? If my guess is correct, they’ve already introduced her to Chan and me then the next would be…?
ME!
Or not.
Ayyy! Hyung! I really hope so! I’ve been waiting ages to see what our mate is like.
Haven’t we all?
Is she pretty?
Far too pretty for you, that’s for sure.
Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?
Heh nothing… but… stay alert, Bin. Make sure you keep her safe.
No worries, I’ll handle it.
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
“Are we almost there yet? Jeez, I’m getting tired of pushing this bitch around.” One of the guards asks as the wheels to the metal cart annoyingly squeaked out.
“Then why don’t we just make her walk? She doesn’t have two legs for nothing.”
“Huh? Good point. I don’t see why not. Not a bad idea either.”
This time, when the doors opened, you had to pathetically crawl out of your miserable glass cage. You hate it so damn much. Especially since due to the shocks of pain. Your muscles haven’t recovered from the previous torment. Your jaws remained clamped down to not give them the satisfaction of hearing you whine in pain like they were looking for.
With the doors closing behind you, you collapsed.
“Hey! Are you okay?!”
A figure quickly ran to your side.
The floor beneath was slightly shaken with his powerful stride.
“Mmm mmm.” You hummed lowly, unable to speak when you’re really preventing yourself from letting out a strained yelp.
“Here, let me help you.”
He got closer, trying to hold you but you flinched. You quickly backed away from him, making that poor attempt anyway. You're a little nervous about his actions. Not so much out of fear but precaution. You’re anxious that your body won’t be able to handle his strength.
“I won’t hurt you if that’s what you’re worried about Y/N. Not now, not ever, I promise." Changbin softened his voice.
Taking a moment to exhale, you gave him your permission by nodding. Weak but still a sign. He carefully dug his muscular arms underneath before lifting you up. Kind of a surprise to you. He’s a lot gentler than you anticipated. His movements are slow and methodical to ensure you weren’t in any sort of pain. While you were being carried by him, he made his way to what you deemed to be a nest created out of jagged metal and bulky pieces of cushion torn off the walls.
“Rest here, Baby.”
He sets you down right at the center.
“W-Wait! Where are you going?”
Your hands gripped onto his arm.
“Woah! Easy there. Don’t worry, I’ll be right here, by the nest, right next to you. Just rest for me.”
“Really?”
“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else besides being with you.”
For the first time in what felt like forever, you find yourself slowly drifting off into the realm of sleep. To have deep rest without the interruption of pain gnawing at you. Your body relaxed in Changbin’s presence. Your mind is sound. And then, there is Changbin, sitting out the nest, adoring how you are.
His chin rests on his palm, admiring how effortlessly adorable you look sleeping in his bed. It takes a tremendous amount of willpower to stop himself from hopping in to cuddle next to you. But he knows better, you need this time to not only rest but to adjust to everything new. The damage that was done to your poor body, this cursed place, and them.
But all you need is time.
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
“... You think she has some kind of special ability or something to make them act this way?” A scientist posed the question as he chewed on his pencil till there were small chips of wood covering his crusted lips.
“It’s possible. After all, we did commit the same experiment on the other eight and yet they all presented different unique abilities at separate healing stages. But for hers? What is it?”
“Whatever it is, that shit will come in handy. It’ll help us in the long run. Good thing she’s weak enough for us to control.”
“The perfect tool to control the others too.” One of the scientists giggled, wiggling his fingers mischievously.
“Aren’t we geniuses?”
“We sure as hell are!”
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
Hours must have gone by cause when you woke up, you felt rejuvenated. Energized like never before. With a moment of peace that you know you’ll need to savor.
“Glad to see you wake up, Baby.” Changbin greeted, staying in the same position from what you remembered he was in before you fell asleep.
“Hi?”
You smiled up at him, pushing yourself to sit up.
“Wait! Wait! Slowly! I don’t want you to hurt yourself!” He panicked, jumping into the nest to support you. “D-Do you feel any better?”
“Much better and…?”
“What's wrong? Do you feel any discomfort?”
He scanned your body, from the top to the bottom to check for any injuries he might have missed.
“No, I’m fine. I just– I didn’t get a chance to ask for your name?”
Both his hands quickly clutched the center of his chest.
“AHHHHH MY HEART!” Changbin thought, grinning ear to ear.
“It’s Changbin, but… you can call me whatever you like!”
“Then is Binnie, okay?”
His cheeks and ears turned bright red. He’s burning up!
But more concerningly, he grew quiet.
“Changbin?”
“YES! More than fine! In fact, call me Binnie more!”
You couldn’t help laughing, for the first time since you’ve been imprisoned here, at how silly although overly enthusiastic he is about a simple nickname. It had him looking at you in awe. Just surprised.
“Do that again! Pleeeeeeeeeease~!” He pleaded with both of his hands held together.
“Do what again?”
“That sound you made…”
“You want to hear me laugh again…?”
“Yeah that! That’s what it’s called…”
“Binnie, I can’t laugh on command. It comes out naturally when I find something funny.”
“Oh… okay.” He pitifully pouted.
A metaphorical grey cloud hovered over his head as he sulks.
“Pft… hahahahaha!”
“Hey! Don’t cover it up with your hand!”
“I can’t help it! Hahahahaha!”
“I wish I could hear you laugh like this forever!”
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
“Okay, I’m kinda getting tired of all this lovey dovey shit. She got to rest, now let’s proceed with our next test.”
“What do you have in mind?”
The scientist only lets out a hollow chuckle.
“Why don’t we bring in some of our other toys into the picture? See if the upgrades we did on them actually made a difference?”
“Ohohoho! I need to see this!” Another one of them spouted, rubbing his hands together like a fly.
“Sit back and watch boys.” The scientist arrogantly declared, leaning back on his chair, arms resting behind his head while putting his feet up on his desk.
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
“B-Binnie?!” You screeched, anxiety at its pique to hear the doors opening and see how two new figures entered the room.
Well… looks like you have company.
“Stay here and… look away.”
That was an order and you’re not one to object.
“O-Okay.”
“Long time no see, Changbin!” One of them chaotically roared out, hurting your ears.
“I’ve been waiting, you pompous fuckin bastard!” The other screamed in total fury to then use one of his lobster looking claws to point at his face. “See this? Remember this from last time? I lost my fuckin eye thanks to you!”
Changbin only scoffs, crossing his arms over his sculpted chest as he stands up to them.
Face to face.
Calm and eerily collected.
“You’re welcome. You’ve always been an ugly fuck anyways. I’ll take the other out for you too to make it even if you want.”
“Why you– you son of a bitch!” The second figure advanced, running full speed at him.
“Speak for yourself.” Changbin calmly said.
Changbin stayed in place. Stood his ground. Unconcerned and not even remotely serious as his opponents are. Every punch swung and flying kicks made were easily dodged with a single step to the side. It looked ridiculous on his opponent's part. His reflexes are unmatched. His opponent used every trick in their book without being able to leave a single scratch on his skin.
“Are we done here? I don’t feel like playing around today. So why don’t you and your friend over there scurry out of here?” Changbin boredly yawned.
While Changbin was momentarily distracted, he missed how his other opponent snaked his way behind him… right to you.
“Aren’t you a pretty thing?” He hissed.
Immediately, Changbin spun around.
“Shit! Y/N!”
Dropping your hands down from your face to your lap, you saw an unwelcome guest intruding the nest. You didn’t think about anything, just got up and moved. Running towards Changbin where you’ll be safe in his arms. Great for you but not so much for him. He has to multitask now. One, keep you safe and out of harm’s way, two, fend off these two bastards. Definitely not impossible, however not easy either.
It just became a dance, not elegant, but still strong. A dance of maneuvers and instinctive timing. You held onto Changbin for dear life, watching as he smoothly dodged and fought back simultaneously in his arms. Isn’t he amazing?
“Why won’t you drop dead already?!”
“You annoying motherfucker!”
His opponents huffed out, gasping for air on the ground before Changbin and you. Unlike them, Changbin stood tall, still carrying you with one arm without much trouble. Just when Changbin thought to end it here. His opponents, as stupid as they are, made the biggest and gravest mistake of their pathetic lives. They can’t undo what they did even if they wanted to. One of them, doesn’t matter who, shot a dart towards the two of you. It was meant to hit Changbin but it missed and ended up cutting you on the cheek instead.
“Oww!” You winced, quickly covering your cheek with your hand to stop the bleeding.
That’s all it took. Your pained yelp and a whiff of your sweet blood that’s running down your cheek. He didn’t need to see you hurt to feel it. The beast in him awakens. His rage ignited, choosing monstrosity over his rationality.
“Y/N, I’ll say this once and I mean it. Go back to the nest and don’t look back until I say so. Got it?”
The air in the room grew heavy.
He slowly sets you down.
“O-Okay.”
You jogged back, scared of him even though you knew very well he wouldn’t hurt you. You hopped into the nest. Your hands returned to covering your face to prevent yourself from seeing something you didn’t want to. But you heard it. Everything. You heard the destruction and weight of brutality Changbin unleashed.
“W-WAIT?! I’M SORRY! I DIDN’T– I DIDN’T MEAN TO AHHHHHHHH!”
“WHY ME?! I DIDN’T SHOOT THAT FUCKIN THING AT HER?! NO… NO… NO! WAIT?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHH!”
Their bloody screams vibrated within their bodies, stopped by the sound of this disgusting gurgling. Blood filled their throats as they tried to get their last words out. But Changbin has no time or care left to give. He gave them a chance and they didn’t take it. Too bad so fuckin sad. As a last act of leniency, he swiftly removed their heads off their shoulders. The chilling sound of bones snapping and skin being ripped apart was vile. The smell of their blood was metallic. Two loud thuds crashed onto the floor with a roll afterwards. For good measure, Changbin kicked their heads and limbless bodies towards the wall.
“Y/N, you can look now. It’s safe.” Changbin advised, standing outside of the nest but not far from it.
Is it really though?
“B-Binnie? Are… are you okay? You’re all covered in blood?”
Aren’t you adorable being all worried about him?
“I’m fine. As for the blood, don’t worry, it’s not mine.”
“Good.” You sighed out.
“I’m sorry you got cut, it must’ve hurt really bad.” He murmured, unable to peel his eyes away from the cut on your cheek.
You shook your head, “No, no! You must be in so much more pain.”
“This is nothing new, Baby. I’m used to it.”
“I wish you weren’t. Seriously, are you hurt anywhere?”
“No, but…”
“But?” You worryingly chirped.
“Can I hold you? Just for a few minutes, but if you don’t want to I–”
“You don’t need to ask, Binnie.”
You stayed in the nest. Your arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him in slowly to allow his forehead to rest on your shoulder. His arms, his entire body trembled. He nervously tangled his arms around your torso as he took a moment to breathe. To feel something. This is the quickest time on record for him to cool down. On average, it would have taken hours or even days. At its worst, a whole month.
Even with the sight, smell, and sound of blood dripping off of him, you aren’t disturbed. The sight seems mild now. The smell can be ignored with enough concentration. What mattered more was comforting your mate. Making sure he feels safe and protected with you as you did with him. Neither of you say anything, simply soaking in the moment while it lasts.
Then the doors open.
“Time’s up Lovebirds! Let’s get moving.” A scientist joyfully shouted.
“Why you?!”
“Binnie! Don’t!”
You held him down. He looks down at you, arms wrapped around his figure with pleading eyes staring up at him. His heart was crushed.
“It’s going to be okay, I’ll be fine.”
“But you’ll…”
“Binnie, believe me. They won’t do anything to me. Everything’s going to be alright. They’ll just be taking me to another room.”
“Y/N…” His voice lowers, almost contemplating on whether or not he should beg you to change your mind.
“Binnie, trust me.”
He takes a deep breath and nods, “Fine, stay safe out there.”
That was all he could muster up to say, giving your temple a kiss as he watched you, heartbroken, you voluntarily handed yourself over.
“Clever girl, guess you do become smarter after a punishment.”

SUBJECT: LEE MINHO [ 𓃑 ⛶ ◉ | CODE 07129 ] - CONTAINMENT # 2313 - LOCATED IN THE UNDERGROUND NORTH WING
Minho? Yah? Can you hear me?
What? What now? What do you want, Chan? I’m tired and–
Our Mate has finally been brought to us.
… You’re serious?
Why the fuck would I lie? Let alone make a joke about that? Yes, I’m fuckin serious.
Where is she now?
I don’t know, she was taken by the guards so stay alert and make sure the others are aware of that too.
You got it.
Oh and Minho?
What?
Take care of her.
Tsk, what the hell do you take me for? Of course I will. It’s our mate we’re talking about here.
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
You feel so numb. All over. Your body is in constant distress. Your mind runs on delirium. Your sanity is hanging on by a thread. After getting forcibly separated from Chan, you felt like you were lost. Incapable of existing without him there with you. It’s a biological call, a bond that can’t be explained in words.
It definitely made you unsettled.
You’re scared of it because of how willing you are to welcome it.
This feeling.
This need.
You said nothing during the entire transfer process.
Neither did these bastards.
You just go limp. Then within the next couple of minutes, you see that you’ve arrived. You recognize the familiar details of the door that previously shut behind you. Once you arrived, they repeated exactly what happened before. They pushed you into the room, not any gentler than the last time. The doors are locked behind you for you to be in another wave of agony.
Unlike the previous room that Chan was in, this one felt disgustingly humid. Just breathing, feeling the hot air leave your lungs was uncomfortable. The heat made you want to peel your skin off. This sort of humidity wraps itself around your bones, buries itself under your skill, and is unwilling to let go.
You lay there, still.
“It’s you.”
“Huh?”
You looked around from where you laid, puzzled since you saw no one in the room.
“You’re Our Mate?” A calm cool voice said from a shadow in a corner.
Weakly, you forced your arms to push yourself up, sitting up right, to turn to the figure that surfaced from the darkest part of the room.
Minho easily stepped out of the shadows. Slowly and meticulously stepping towards you with his eyes never leaving your figure. You could only stare back at him. At some point in this short time span, you see him giving you a sly smirk. He then crouches down to get to your eye level.
“Are you going to hurt me?” You hesitantly mumbled, turning your gaze towards your lap instead.
That smirk of his quickly dropped, shocked and heartbroken that you would even have an assumption like that about him. His hand carefully creeps up to your face, cupping your cheek to have you look back up at him. The moment your eyes meet, his gaze softens.
“No, never.”
A promise.
Not just a simple statement.
Minho then backed away, appearing in front of you one second, then in another, he’s gone. Then reappeared at the speed of light. Within his hands, he held a small arrangement of flowers. Ones you’ve never seen before, but they’re all pretty. He crouched back down, his eyes looked deeply into yours and he can’t help getting lost in them.
He’s just amazed by your gaze.
Your eyes, they’re just so… stunning, lively, and all too innocent.
“You’re perfect for us.” He thought.
He carefully brings the flowers up to your nose. You smell them. It’s strange though not unpleasant. The flowers don’t have a strong scent, but it’s very distinct. But this is probably for the best as your nose can’t handle anything that’s overpowering.
“You like them?”
You nod.
He chuckles, tossing the flowers to the side to bring his hand up. His thumb caresses your cheek longingly and cautiously while you lean into his touch.
“Tell me, what’s your name?”
“Y/N.”
His smile returns, only growing bigger.
“Y/N? Y/N? Huh, I like it, it suits you. A pretty name for Our Mate.”
“And what’s yours?”
“Minho.”
“I like your name too. Sounds cute.”
“Well I’m glad to hear that. But I’m far from being cute.”
You shook your head.
“Mmm mmm, you’re cute.”
“Are you teasing me, My Mate?”
“I am…”
“Good, keep going.”
“And Minho?”
“Hmm? Yes?”
“What does it mean exactly to be Your Mate?”
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
“Oh… so that’s what it means.”
Minho nods, with a proud smile.
“C-Can we take things slow?”
“I’m more than happy to do that. After all, your body is still weak from…”
He doesn’t need to finish what he is saying for you to know what he’s implying.
It took a while, maybe for an hour or two is what it felt like, to get around all the numbness. Under Minho’s supervision, you are adapting quite well. He’s so patient with you, even when you get unbearably frustrated with your own body not functioning how it should.
“Careful now. And slowly.” Minho advised in a mumble, holding your hands in his as he rises to his feet.
Your legs were shaking, uncontrollably so. Your grip on his hands turned sharp. Your teeth are grinding together as you try to get yourself to stand.
“Dammit.”
“Hey, it’s okay. Let’s just go slow.”
Bit by bit, your legs start to straighten. Then with that extra push, you find yourself standing for the first time, though not without support. Minho stood in front of you, beyond content to see you accomplish this small feat.
“I did it?”
“You did it.”
“I did it!” You shouted, causing yourself to wince in pain, ears ringing. “Shit…”
“You sure did.”
By then, Minho did everything he could to make sure you felt safe and comfortable. Anything that made you feel even remotely bad was immediately stopped. He’d rather be experimented on again than hurt you. To his relief, nothing has triggered you to feel worse or fearful.
“Hmm?” You hum, placing your hand over your throat to soothe it.
Minho catches on quickly.
“Here, drink some water. I can hear how dry your throat is. Come on, slow and steady.” Minho suggested with his palms forming a bowl, holding enough water for you to drink out of.
You slightly tilted your head down, sucking in the water. Your eyes widen. How refreshing? The water within his hands was perfectly chilled. The soreness went away and the moisture returned to your throat. After you finished, you sat back up to smile at Minho.
Having a water source is one of the perks in Minho’s containment. Though it does have a purpose it’s just a feature meant to simulate an artificial swamp. Aside from the water source looking like a small stream, there’s minimal vegetation, poor lighting and the humidity stays constant here.
Whether or not Minho is bothered by the heat, you can’t tell.
He has quite the stoic expression when deep in thought.
“Something wrong, Y/N?”
“No…”
“Is that enough? Do you want me to get more water for you?”
You shook your head slowly.
“C-Can you just hold me instead?”
He couldn’t help hiding that smile. His ears grew slightly redder.
“Of course, anything for you, Pretty Girl.”
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
“Fascinating… just fascinating. Are you guys seeing this? Wow. If we didn’t know any better we would have never guessed that he’s a killing machine. He’s never reacted this way before. Always kill first then observe.” A scientist spoke with surprise, taking down notes furiously in his chair as his eyes returned to the glowing monitor. “The possibilities are opening up!”
“I have a couple of procedures I want to perform on her. See if she improves or dies.” Another scientist announced
“No, we’ll save those for next time. She can’t die now. Not when this is a massive breakthrough.” The scientist hissed.
“But you have to wonder, what’s so special about her?” A third scientist said.
“Who knows? But who the fuck cares?”
“She’s just some woman at the wrong place, at the wrong time.”
“You think anyone’s out there looking for her?”
“Tsk, no. From what I saw in her logs, she doesn’t have any family support. Nor does she have any close friends. Plus, even if the authorities did get a missing person form about her, they’ll just ignore it. Who cares? She’s one of many missing people.”
“Too bad no one knows it’s because of us hehehe…”
“But it’s for the better.”
“Science demands enhancements!"
“Agreed.”
“Awww! Guys look!” A fourth scientist shouted out of nowhere. “Look! He’s leaned his forehead against hers! Now they’re nuzzling their noses together!”
“Cute, but this isn’t worth observing. Now, let’s bring in the guards to test out one of our theories.”
“It’s show time Baby!”
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
Minho pulls back for you to see his smile drop. You wanted to ask if something was wrong, which there had to be something cause you see his ears slightly twisting. He stays quiet, highly focused. He can sense it. He could feel and hear his heart racing and he’s sure you can hear it too. The wholesome moment you had was cut short when the doors to his room can be heard unlocking. At the entrance, a line of guards marched in.
Again, you instinctually clung onto Minho just like you did before with Chan.
“M-Minho?” You mumbled fearfully, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“Ready?!” A man announced as his men raised their guns on command. “Aim and… FIRE!”
Then… boom. Rounds of bullets rocketed towards the two of you.
You expected to be hit, to die on the spot… but you didn’t just drop dead.
Your eyes were closed when you felt Minho wrap his arms around you, whispering into your ear.
“Shhh, don’t be scared. I’m here. Nothing will harm you.” Minho’s voice was as soft as his protective hold on you.
The bullets knocked into the wall, unable to penetrate, though they did flatten a bit.
Finding the courage to open your eyes, you found yourself engulfed into the darkness. It took you a minute to realize where you were. Y-You were in a shadow?! Impressive although horrifying at the same time to be floating in nothingness. This space seemed like it could go on forever if you accidentally slipped out of Minho’s grasp. Either way, you’re just happy to be alive.
“Thank you, Minho.” You shakingly breathed out.
“Don’t thank me. There’s no need to. It’s what I should do for my mate.”
“Well done guys! Now bring her out here so we can test our other theories.” The voice from their radio blasted out.
The status, the screeching made your ears ring. You covered them with your hands with Minho trying to soothe you by rubbing your back.
“B-But sir, they’re…?”
“You heard what I said, get her out here. Can you guys not do one thing right? For fuck sakes. I don’t care what you do, just get her the fuck out here.”
“Yes sir, understood!”
“Shit! No! No! NO! Wait no! Please! AHHHHHHHH!”
The pain returns.
You shake, you scream, you plead for mercy in your head. Minho holds onto you, embracing you as he leaves the shadow. He hisses at the men warningly, knowing that it was their doing. They’re the one causing you the pain.
“Hand her over! Now! That’s an order!”
You continue to wince.
“M-Minho, I’ll… I… i-it’ll be fine.” You tried to piece your words together, speaking through your agony.
The pain in his eyes stung worse.
“But…”
“I promise, I’ll be fine.”
“I don’t know. What if they hurt you?” His voice drops.
As if they aren’t hurting you now.
“Trust me, please?”
At that request, he reluctantly laid you on the ground for the guards to take. He was so close to charging right back to retrieve you when you yelped in pain while they halted you into the same glass container. He stood there, watching as the men backed away, pushing your cage with them, and then the doors closed shut.
“FUCK!” Minho roared, he even punched the wall to let out some steam but it wasn’t enough.

SUBJECT: BANG CHAN [ 𓃑 ⛶ ◉ | CODE 13736 ] - CONTAINMENT # 1375 - LOCATED IN THE UNDERGROUND NORTHEAST WING
There was no warning. But then again, when was there anything? After everything that’s already happened. But still it would have been nice to have one. Within a few abrupt minutes, the ground started shaking at a nauseating speed. Then the entire room was deconstructed, part by part. The roof of your padded cell was lifted. The walls strayed away. The only thing that stayed was the floor you laid on.
From above, bright white lights whined in. They squeaked irritatingly slowly. They pointed it directly on you as if they feared that you might use this chance to run away. Like really bitch? If you could, you would.
Not to mention the sound of the heavy machinery drawing closer.
You are still far too weak to do anything. Heck, you can’t even lift a finger if you wanted to. You just lay there, on the ground helplessly, waiting for what’s to come. Still adjusting to this new and forced reality of yours.
“Careful now.” A man with a hard hat advised with a dozen more men like him standing right behind him.
In front of these men were more of them, though these men wore tactical gear instead and were clearly armed with guns.
“We’ll take it from here.” One of the men spoke to the leader of the hard hats.
“Understood Sir, men, let’s go.”
Within minutes, the men with the hard hats left, leaving you to be handled by these men now.
One of them crouched down, “Hmmm?”
“Hey back away!”
“Seriously? She can’t do shit.”
“She may look weak but who knows… she could just be faking it. Any strange activity, any threatening movements, don’t hesitate to shoot.”
That was an order to the men and a promise for you to keep in mind.
What followed soon after was them shifting you into this rectangular glass constructed container. Must have been some type of special glass if it's as thick as a brick wall.
When they finished loading you in, by carrying you in, the container was lifted out of the area by a crane. The way it swayed side to side made you extremely dizzy. On top of the chains rattling, horrible. Then the container was lowered to be placed onto the back of a vehicle.
As you lay on the cold floor of your glass cage, you take this change to look around.
This place is enormous. It’s sickening. High ceilings. Wide expanding halls. Endless numbers of rooms. The very foundation of this place is constructed out of pure evil. Doesn’t need to be said. Just felt. The vibes that flowed within the air made you shudder.
This place buzzes with all sorts of activities, if not from people then machinery. Insanity to see how far technology has advanced. Not a still moment in sight. Literally reminds you of an ant colony. A scene that would be fitting for a sick and twisted sci-fi film.
The place is like a maze. Limitless turns. Halls that never seem to have an ending. Various doors opening and shutting and more. You’ve already lost count how many rooms you traveled through. But at last, the vehicle stopped, violently so, such a shitty driver. The driver hopped out of his seat to say something to two other figures. Being disorientated, you can barely make out what they are saying.
“Here she is, the newest addition to the collection. If you asked me, they’re just wasting their time on this one.”
“Excellent! She’s finally here. I hope we get to see some interesting results hehehe…” One of the men, guarding the large locked door, chuckled out.
“Oh, we definitely will! She is the first female to take part in this project anyways. Surely that’ll mean something to our other test subjects.”
All you could make out was the last half of their conversation before feeling the glass container moving again. For fuck sakes, can they stop with the shaking?! No stability at all. The shaking worsened, increasing your changes to hurl. Well, if you are then you might as well aim it towards one of these bastards. Luckily, the shaking didn’t last for long as you see the two guards punch in a code to the large metal door. Half of the door slid left and the other half slid to the right.
A wave of white mist escapes from the room, flooding the floor with it. The hair on the back of your neck and your goosebumps immediately rose up. The change in temperature was dramatic. Behind you, you could hear them laughing. Whispering about things that might possibly happen. There was not a care or an ounce of humanity left within their being. Who does when you work in a place like this?
They carelessly shoved you into the room. You watched how the doors closed shut behind you with the guys waving at you. This leaves you utterly vulnerable. This sort of cold wasn’t ordinary. It’s unlike anything you felt before. This would literally be hell if it decided to change to the opposite side of the spectrum. It feels like they threw you straight into an arctic tundra. The metal floor was glazed over with a layer of ice.
The little to no moisture left in your skin has it fusing with the ice.
You’re freezing. You curled your legs close to your chest in hopes of keeping any warmth in.
Your skin pricked and burned at the same time. Blinking became impossible. Your teeth chattered uncontrollably. Breathing was extremely difficult, shaky and unstable. Your lungs might even be at risk of freezing before your entire body does with the cold air rushing into them. Each time you inhaled, your lungs stretched painfully. Exhaling was no better, the vapor of your breath had ice forming on your nose and around your mouth.
You’ll soon become a popsicle.
“I-I-Is this it? T-This is how I-I’m going to die?” You wondered, head panging in agony.
Unbeknownst to you, you weren’t alone in this space. Not for long. After you got thrown in here to suffer some more, another door opened on the opposite side of the room. That room had to be even colder than the one you're in, that’s the only way you can explain away the extremely big drafts of freezing air pushing in. The other figure wasn’t quick to make his presence known. He walked out slowly and boredly. Only this figure wasn’t anything you expected to see.
He is stable compared to you. Taller, stronger, and far more dangerous than what the average human brain is capable of understanding. He steps into the room, out from the darkened room, unbothered. Not a single reaction by the change in setting or temperature. Impressive, very impressive. Even if he is only wearing a pair of white looking sports shorts. Looking around mindlessly, he spots something.
Someone.
And that is you.
Still, he doesn’t react.
Are you another opponent?
Did they want him to fight you?
Test him more?
Test you?
Possibly kill you?
If so, then he’s not interested.
Nor does he feel like fulfilling their sick desires today.
He’s tired.
Tired as fuck of their bullshit.
However, he is curious. He raises a brow, a curious one.
It wasn’t uncommon for these fuckers to throw other experiments in his cell.
What was uncommon is that they’ve never held him in a room with someone as weak as you seem.
Taking his hands out of his pockets, he moves in closer. About a few feet away from where you laid helplessly, his sense of smell was on high alert. He stopped, literally froze. His pupil, the white one, was starting to glow gold. This hasn’t ever happened before. It shocked him to the point where he had one of his hands covering it. So now, you’ve definitely piqued his interest.
Just who are you?
He takes in your scent again.
He doesn’t necessarily do it to warn himself of any danger.
But he’s doing it now for confirmation.
This was far more concerning if he was even in a bit of danger.
His conscience, his instincts call to him.
Mate?
He’s feeling a lot of mixed emotions. Aside from being beyond overjoyed, he felt a tinge of aggression tugging at him. How fuckin dare they? The anger wasn’t for you but towards the people who did this to you. They’ll pay for this. But yet, he also has to thank them in a way. This is a literal dream come true.
He’s been waiting.
He’s been yearning for this to happen.
To find you.
Meet you.
He stops himself from celebrating too soon as he directs his focus back at the scene before him.
Fuck!
Snap out of it Idiot!
What’s the point of celebrating that he found his mate if he won’t have one because of his incompetence?
Go to her… now.
He moves.
Takes action.
His instincts take over. He gently scoops you up into his arm with ease, whispering apologies as he hears you whine in pain. The separation of your skin off the ice stung.
Slowly and carefully, he walked towards a wall, it didn't matter which one, where he sat down to place you onto his lap. He leans his back against the snow and ice covered wall, allowing you to lean your head against his bare chest. You’ve never been happier to be hugged by someone else till now. You were brought back to life. You jumped at the opportunity to cling onto him for warmth.
This is amazing.
His skin is hot to the touch like a furnace. It melts the cold off of your own skin.
But you don’t care about anything else besides pushing the cold out of your system.
“Just relax for me…” Chan softly mumbled.
To expedite the process of warming you up, Chan curled his wings around you to trap the heat radiating from his body. Seems like his plan worked as you stopped shivering.
“Are you feeling better, My Mate?”
What now?
“H-Huh?” You look up at him, a little dazed.
He was at a loss for words. He wanted to say something but stopped. Your scent.
Oh, you’re going to drive him crazy.
It’s distinct and now impossible to miss. So sweet yet alluring. It draws him in. Makes him feel high. He can’t help himself pulling you closer to him, chest to chest, not only to warm you up but to get a deeper inhale of your scent.
“Who are you?” You asked weakly, still clinging onto him.
His gaze softened as he looked down at you.
“Does it matter?” He lightly chuckled, he’d rather focus on your well being than to exchange introductions.
“Yes, it does. You saved me… thank you.”
That gaze.
That look on your face.
He’s going to lose focus if you continue looking at him like that.
“Your Mate, but you can call me Chan. Now let’s focus on getting you warmed up.”
You nod as Chan presents his sweetest smile, hiding his deep desires very well.
What he truly wanted to say was, “Your Mine.” But that wouldn’t be a good first impression now would it? He may have been locked up for a long time, but he still remembers to have some manners. Plus, he didn’t want to scare you away. How could he? He’ll wait till you’re ready, until you are stable for him to love, to claim. To be his, for him to cherish in this damned place.
“I got you, Baby.” He mumbled into your shoulder, giving it a light peck as your rest against him.
All you could do was hum in response.
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
In another room, full of scientists and an inexcusable amount of monitors, the room erupted in a bunch of disappointed complaints. Hands were being thrown up in the air. Clipboards were thrown onto their desk tops. Chairs kicked to the floor. Fingers pinched the bridge of their noses. Loud heavy sighs were exhaled.
Guess that’s what you get for being a bunch of sick freaks.
“Are you fuckin kidding me?! What was that?! I wanted to see her get ripped apart!” One of the scientists annoyedly whined out like a dumb bitch. “Instead, we gave our greatest specimen a fuck toy! UGHHHHHH!”
“Fuck this…” Another one of them groaned, tossing his bucket of popcorn to the side.
“What a kill joy?”
“Calm down, Idiots. This might actually be a good sign.” One of their colleagues explained. “She has proven herself useful if he’s showing signs of new behavior.”
“I guess?”
“Oh! You thinking what I’m thinking?”
What type of shit is going on?
“What are we? Fuckin mind readers?”
“No we don’t, so will the two of you dipshits spill it out already?”
The two of them grinned menacingly as they hatch their plan and boast about it to the other scientists. Everyone was on board. Their interest was at its peak. Despite how you weren’t considered to be a successful experiment in their eyes, you had one great use.
Control.
Now that they know that you are important to Chan and possibly to the others, the other scientists won’t hesitate to use you for their own benefits. Gives them more leverage to understand their experiments better, as if they’re not their own living beings with their own autonomous emotions and sensation.
They thrive for more control. More experimentation. More fun. More possibilities. And they crave for more opportunities to perform more scientific evolutions for the greater good.
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
“How are you feeling?” Chan whispered, knowing you’re still adjusting to your new senses.
“A lot better. I can breathe easily now. Thank you, Chan.” You mumbled, adjusting how your head was laying against his chest. “You’re so warm…”
You seriously have no idea what you’re doing to him.
“You’re welcome, Sweetheart.” He chimed out, smirking, enjoying how snug you are in his hold.
He’d stay like this forever if he could.
𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏𖦏
This is such a risky game. They’re playing with fire, both metaphorically and literally. But it’s a game the scientists would gladly play even if a couple of lives have to be sacrificed. All for the greater good is how they like to explain it away.
Removing you from Chan would be challenging but not impossible.
They have something up their sleeves.
When the doors opened, it showed a group of scientists and an outrageous number of body guards. Chan instinctively held you tightly. Fuck this. He’s not playing around. A deep guttural growl escapes out of him. Warning anyone and anything that is brave (more so stupid) enough to take you away from him.
Protect her.
“Don’t you even fuckin think about it.” Chan snarled.
You don’t really understand what’s happening but it felt right to stick with Chan. You inched as close to him as possible as you set your sights on the electric tasters, long batons, and guns the guards had.
“Hand her over.”
“No.”
“We’re not going to ask again, give her to us.”
“No.” Chan firmly stated.
“Fine, just know… we warned you.” One of the scientists sighed out, nodding to his colleague to do whatever they had planned.
His colleague pressed some sort of portable button in his pocket.
Chan expected them to target him.
Why wouldn’t he?
They’ve always targeted him.
But only this time… they didn’t.
Instantly, you felt yourself springing away to sit up. You writhed in agony. Every muscle, every nerve in your body is cramping, twisting, unfathomably tight. The sensation is the closest thing to what it would feel like being electrocuted.
Holy shit!
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
The pain was absolutely intolerable.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”
The pain continued on.
You were in so much pain that you froze sitting up, unable to do anything else than scream.
“I told you to hand her over or else she’ll continue on like this because of you. It’s your choice.” The scientist shrugged.
“Fuck.” Chan cursed under his breath.
Chan wanted to think about his options. But he can’t. His options were limited and so is his time.
He needs to make a decision now and fast. There’s no time to waste, not when he sees you in his arms clearly in pain, unbearably so. The worst part about your suffering is that he caused it.
With great frustration and hesitation, Chan handed you over to them. However, not without feeling how you didn’t want to leave him either. You exhaustingly held onto both his wrist as you got carried away by the guards.
I promise I’ll see you later, My Mate.
That’s not something you ever expected to experience.
T-That was Chan’s voice?
But you didn’t hear it physically.
No, it was more like you heard him say it in your head.
Seems like another new ability you gained from this whole ordeal.
Just wait for me.

Finally! Fuckin finally! This is the moment you’ve been waiting for! What a shitty day it’s been?! You excitedly and eagerly watched the clock’s hand, painfully and slowly strike eleven! Once it was officially eleven, that meant it was time. Time for you to clock the fuck out of work! After working a grueling ten hour shift, without a single break in between, there’s nothing you wanted more than to get the hell out of here.
All of today, it’s just been work. Do this. Do that. And then out of nowhere, follow some stupid order your supervisor gave you because of some weird power trip complex he has. He’s such a pathetic cunt…
But, before you were completely free to go, you had to finish sorting some things out. You rushed through it, while trying to keep things organized, but not really. Someone else can deal with this bullshit. With everything set and done, you hurried back to your work space. You hastily gathered your things, then practically bolted out of those doors. Though just before you left, you stopped, for a brief moment.
“Alright, I’ll see you all tomorrow!” You gleefully exclaimed to your co-workers by the front doors.
They all turned to face you, smiling, waving goodbye and wishing you a goodnight. You quickly thanked them, waved back, and hope they’ll get to leave soon too.
Seconds later, you walked out. Walking as far and as fast as you can before your supervisor suddenly asks you to come back to do something. It ain’t the first time something like that happened. Such a lazy bitch.
Little did anyone know, including yourself, that this would be the last time anyone will ever see or hear from you again.
It’s always these types of things that happen to you.
In case the universe hadn’t shown you enough already, but you have some shit luck.
Nothing has played in your favor, ever.
By the time anyone cares to even notice, the only traces of you left are the memories you made through various although useless connections and your physical possessions. Since your disappearance, all of your things have been left untouched. Unclaimed and ready to decay in your apartment as life goes on around it. They’re the only things that prove your once acknowledged existence in this inconceivably cruel world.
It was on this exact night where you were forced to face the biggest change of your life. One you didn’t ask for. But the world doesn’t care. It does what it wants, whenever it wants. A person like you has no power to say or do otherwise. You and many others are like an ant, small, powerless, and easily stepped on. With you gone, nothing changes. Literally nothing. Those big mouths in society say that everyone matters, but they’re all fuckin liars.
If so, why are there still so many missing people?
What even happened to them?
Why haven’t people like you been given a chance to better their lives instead of living the same, repeated, exhaustive cycle of work so the people higher up can sit on their ass and enjoy the fruits of your labor?
Total bullshit and people still fall for it.
You did too at a certain point in your life, but you stopped.
Not only stopped believing, stopped dreaming, stopped hoping.
This world is cruel… and it’ll certainly stay that way.
It’s just the way it is.
All this, the pain, the suffering, you’ll soon discover will be caused by a single encounter.
Where a moment of being righteous blinded you for a lack of better words.
You were at the right place, unfortunately at the wrong time.
On your way back home, a storm brewed above. Occasionally the rumbling of thunder could be felt vibrating in the air with lightning making its light known in a couple of quick flashes. It hadn’t soured your mood. You just continued to walk leisurely towards the bus stop. A little bit of rain isn’t going to bother you. Not if you let it. You were starting to relax, decompress as you tuned into your playlists.
Song after song, the lyrics invited you to imagine all sorts of wild scenarios. Some that made you feel a smidge of happiness, some that provoked sadness, and others that made you live in the moment. With your music playing in the half volume bar, you stopped moving forward. Not planned, but a hesitant halt. You took one of your airpods out to make sure you weren’t hearing things.
You stayed still. You pressed the pause button on your phone screen. Letting the rain pour over you, drenching your clothes while also filling the silence of the night.
Did you really hear that just now? Or did your overstimulated brain imagine it?
Surely it can’t be real.
… Like come on, your brain must have imagined it?
You tried to rationalize it with yourself.
Feeling crazy as you’re all by yourself with nowhere around. Literally not even a single car can be heard passing by on the streets.
Could it be from the song that you were currently listening to?
It’s weird that you would even consider it. But nope. You’ve listened to it far too many times, on an unhealthy, obsessive scale. You have memorized every word of each verse, know the exact timing of the beat, and how the melody flows smoothly in the background.
Well, if it’s not from the song… then maybe it’s from the rain?
Definitely not. Borderline absurd even. But the reality of what it could be was chilling.
Your greatest fear was confirmed by the next millisecond. You flinched. A sharp chill ran down your spine. All the hair on your body felt like it was sticking up in alarm.
You can clearly hear it now.
Proving it to yourself that you indeed heard it correctly the first time.
What the actual fuck?
There was a woman screaming on the top of her lungs for help and she sounded close by.
“NO! NO! N-NO! STOP! GET AWAY FROM ME! SOMEBODY HELP ME! PLEASE! HELP! ANYBODY!”
Even with the rain pouring down, hard, and angrily, it wasn’t nearly enough to drown out her cries. The terror she was letting out was raw and real. So unable to stand by and wait for things to unfolded, you acted. Fast. And without thinking. You had to do something. You just ran. You dropped your umbrella, abandoning it as you funneled your way through multiple alleys.
Fuck, where is she?!
Dammit.
With each pass you made, you knew you were getting closer. You could feel her screams bounce off the walls. At last, you stood at the head of an alleyway with a dead end on the other side. In the middle of it, there were five figures. On the opposite end, where the dead end was, is the woman, cowering as close as she could against the dirty, slimy brick wall. The five figures stood there, in a circular formation around her, ensuring she had no room to escape.
This is literally like one of those scenes shown in those old horror films.
It was unsettling.
From where you stood and due to the rain blurring your vision, the five figures features cannot be made out. They are covered head to toe. Their faces are obscured by a strange metallic visor, reflecting whatever was ahead. The rest of their bodies are wrapped in something that closely resembles a hazmat suit. Maybe this is not such a strange detail but it is weird how all five figures are about the same height.
Whoever they are, they don’t seem like good company.
“What the fuck do you people think you’re doing?! Leave her alone! Or else I’m calling the p-police!”
Strangely the five figures weren’t alarmed by your presence or by your threat. They just slowly turned around to face you.
They said nothing.
Just stopped and stared.
The lack of words or motion had fear wash over you. As if somebody dumped a bucket of frozen water over you. Something about these people has your gut twisting in a dozen different directions. Your hands shook as you attempted to dial for emergency services. This alone didn’t faze them. Not in the slightest. They only turned their attention back towards the woman who’s now pleading for you to intervene.
How?
What can you even do?
Like really?
You have nothing you can defend yourself with.
That heroic mindset was gone.
You couldn’t move.
You couldn’t speak.
You froze in fear.
You were just as scared as she was.
Then you would soon witness one of them pulling out a gun, a pistol, then… BANG!
Splat!
Blood spews out, it’s on the walls and now pooling on the ground around her.
Holy fuck!
Your eyes widened, legs quaked, breath held, and heart raced.
T-They shot her?
THEY KILLED HER!
The woman coughed out blood. Her body slowly slid down the wall, then crashed onto the ground… lifeless. The pool of blood around her body grew significantly as more flowed out of her from her still chest. Her eyes no longer held that spark of life. It was there for a second, but it’s gone now. Her eyes stayed open, wide, with a look of terror forever molded into them of her last moments alive. Eternally calling for help. A call you couldn’t respond to.
As if that wasn’t heinous enough, they shot her again.
BANG!
And again.
BANG!
And once more.
BANG!
The second shot was purposely aimed directly at her head, the area above where her eyes are.
There was no reaction from any of them.
Her nose and ears started having blood streams out of them.
The third shot was to her neck.
As for the last shot, straight to her stomach.
The perpetrators themselves were unmoved by their actions. How could they, if they shot her even while she is dead?! They left her there to rot as if she was a piece of trash. Worthless. Expendable. Not an ounce of remorse shown. When they were done dealing with her, they set their sights out on you.
You were still in shock. Your brain isn’t able to completely process what you saw.
You may not see their eyes, but you can feel it. Their gazes were all sharply focused on you.
Curse your shitty fight or flight response.
You froze.
Your ears are still ringing from the gunshots. Barely able to hear the first responder who has been calling out to you from your phone. But you couldn’t say anything. Fear tightened your throat. You stand there as you watch your impending doom approach closer and closer.
The killers trapped you with them. Five figures stood in front and another five advanced behind you out of nowhere.
When you finally broke out of your temporary paralysis, you turned around to see a wall of the same looking figures.
“W-Who are you people…?”
Suddenly a pair of hairs wrapped themselves around your neck, applying immense pressure. You squeaked out a gasp as your air ways were getting crushed. You tried to fight back. Digging your nails into the person’s wrists in hopes they’d let go. They don’t. In fact they squeezed your neck even harder. Then another set of hands quickly shoved a piece of dampened cloth up to your nose and mouth. It was doused in some kind of liquid with no distinct taste or smell. Whatever it is, it knocks you out within seconds. Your eyes rolled back and were closed.
You really have no idea, not even the slightest, what you got yourself into. This is by far one of the worst things that could happen to anyone. You’re as good as dead to the world by that point. The chances of this happening to you were in the trillion percentage, but you brought this upon yourself. Somehow, just a pinch of bad luck dragged you to face eternal suffering. At least that’s what it’s going to feel like.
After you passed out, you were thrown over someone’s shoulder like a sack of rotten potatoes. They took a step or two forward before an inconspicuous white van pulled up beside the group. The door to the van’s side opened, they tossed you in before they got on.
That was it, the true beginning of this unexpected rebirth.
The drive lasted for hours. Not like you would know since you’re out cold. It’s only when they arrived at their destination did they stop. Everything up to this point had been conducted in silence. Turning the ignition off, everyone exits the van, and carries you within this top secret facility base that no one has a single clue about.
Your details and other confidential information, essentially your entire existential history were easily obtained by their powerful search engines. It was all logged down and would go into your personal file with more data waiting to be documented.
Just one of many files put into their system.
What happened next was… violating, revoltingly, viciously inhumane.
They brought you into a lab. All your clothes were stripped off of you and discarded into the incinerator. Then they took pictures from every angle possible for the before and after comparison. Once the photos were added into your record, that’s when… the procedures began.
Not one. Not two. Not three. Not four. Not even five.
Laughable to even guess that little.
HUNDREDS OF FUCKIN PROCEDURES! Can you believe that? Can a human body even survive that? Every single one of those procedures are equally dangerous and committed in a matter of weeks. Weeks! These fuckers have no patience. Throughout it all, you were left completely unaware of the changes your body was forced to endure.
Your skin got poked and jabbed by thousands of needles, injecting you with all types of illegal drugs at critically high dosages. Your veins became inflamed, swollen, and enlarged by the fluids.
You got cut open, gutted would be a better word, with scalpels and knives alike so they can better assess what they are working with. No patch of skin other than your face and private parts were spared on their operating table.
They had a vision and they wanted to bring it to life.
A bunch of psychotic whackos!
Unsurprisingly, there were also too many instances to count where you could have died due to how much blood you lost. Flowing. Gushing. Spraying. Undoubtedly, your body will be scarred, physically and psychologically within your deepest conscience.
But physical changes weren’t the only things that they did to you. No… there was so much more.
Bones snapping and muscles twisting are the least of your worries.
These sadistic people had modified your very genetic code.
It would be hard to fully classify you as a human anymore. Not to mention, you only resembled one with additional features.
As a result of one of the many drugs they injected you with, growing out of your head, protruding outwards were two noticeably sharp horns. Both solid and formed out a mutated form of keratin that cannot be removed by any means. Once it's grown, it stays exactly where it grew from. Your horns are even capable of puncturing through flesh.
On your upper back, they’ve specifically attached a pair of wings onto you. Where did they get it from? No one will ever know just like the other things they’ve gone out of their way to get. They’re large, heavy, angular, bony, sensitive, almost like bat wings. As for your lower back, just a few inches above your butt, sways a long tail fluffed by soft feathers.
You are going to be the newest toy to their enormous collection. They’re so proud of your current aesthetic look. Although they can’t be happy too soon. After all, they need to make sure you live first to ensure their efforts weren’t done for nothing. They need you alive to start testing you.
Good luck… and stay alive, if you can.
What happened afterwards… you don’t know. And you don’t want to know. But, your body does. It remembers everything. The trauma your poor body went through was felt. You could immediately and precisely pinpoint every poke, every cut, every stitch, every infusion, everything.
Just imagine what the hell that feels like…
You can’t recall anything but there was one thing you know clearly.
You disappeared to the world.
But you didn’t.
No… you were taken.
Captured.
Imprisoned.
By who?
By what?
To this day, you still don’t know. What’s the point? Knowing who did this to you won’t help you in any way. It’s the where and why that matters more here. However, you won’t be able to find out any time soon.
Even if you do, your brain won’t retain the details. Your mind is spent. You can’t think. Not like you used to. A thick fog clouds your head space as an inexpressible pain courses through your body.
You want to run.
But you have no strength in you.
You want to hide.
But there’s nowhere to hide.
You want to forget about this.
You can’t.
That any of this ever happened.
This had to be a nightmare.
All you have to do is wake up, right? Please?
Otherwise, existing will be a fate far worse than death.
Wish, hope, pray all you want, nothing can get you out of this place.
No one’s going to find you. No one’s going to save you. You’re locked in, forever.
Now it’s truly about the survival of the fittest. You weren’t the strongest by any means nor are you considered to be the weakest if you were able to survive through all that. But you’ll need to find a way to stay alive. One way or another. And you will, soon enough when you meet them.
All eight of them.
It wasn’t the greatest plan, but it’s the only one you have and it works. With them by your side, you can at least live day by day with your sanity somewhat intact.

Regaining consciousness was excoriating. Worse than losing it. It felt like someone was constantly smashing your head against a brick wall. You don’t remember much. Actually, you didn’t really remember anything for quite some time. That’s all thanks to them tampering with your brain waves. You know, because they just wanted to fuck around and see what happens.
You couldn’t even recall your name, age, or anything about yourself. You were simply just aware. Alive. Existing became the only thing you knew for a while. Everything else became a useless fact.
Deplorably, that wasn’t the only change you soon came to face.
No, there was substantially more.
Most permanent, others temporary.
When you woke up, you weren’t just weak, you were living on the brink of dying any moment. You lost what… hours? Days? Weeks? Months of your life? Laying on the padded ground within your entirely padded cell, thrashing yet desperately trying to keep still.
You move. There’s pain.
You don’t move. There’s even more pain.
And there’s nothing you can do to stop it once it starts.
Your jaw was constantly clenching, fists tightening, and you mentally wished for the universe to take you out already. The pain came in massive intervals. It’s all bad but it gets worse. But you're persistent, too stubborn that you’d let yourself die in a place like this. And due to the pain, you passed out a lot too because it was just too much for you to handle. Then the cycle repeats over and over again.
Then finally, it starts to die down. Arduously slow. Waking up again, you give yourself time to breathe. It’s still quite a struggle, like someone squeezing the air out of your lungs. Your mind continues to be fuzzy, but functional enough to take account of your current predicament.
You laid there. Looked down. You realized how you weren’t in your previous set of clothes. Instead, what replaced them was this simple pearly white patient gown. It’s the only thing you have on. Every other article of clothing was gone. Just this gown. Oddly, or not, it matches the color of the entire room from the floor, walls, and ceiling.
The gown wrapped around your figure loosely. It barely covers anything as the back of it is open for anyone to see. The only thing holding it together is a measly little string near the nape of your neck. You felt so exposed. However, keeping your dignity was the last thing you should and can focus on.
Hurt…
Everything fuckin hurts!
Every micro movement made– blinking, breathing, twitching– felt like nails being hammered into your skin with a hot iron then pressed on top. You screamed loudly, but it just prolonged and intensified your misery by a thousand percent.
Your throat burns from screaming, dry and constricted from the lack of moisture. Whereas your ears ring from the very sound of your own piercing scream. Talk about sensory overload. A scream that sounded inhuman almost. It’s not your voice you heard. It sounded more so of a being that had been tormented for countless lifetimes.
Unable to bear with the deafening ringing, as you have done so previously, you forced your jaws to clamp shut. So tightly that you feared that your teeth might crack. Thankfully, that’s one source of the pain that subsided eventually. Though the others progressed onward.
Even when you desperately wanted to cry, you can’t.
Fearing it’ll trigger your eardrums.
Heck, even your tears might prick your skin from the sensation.
Every single one of your senses are heightened up.
Your sight was the clearest it’s been in years and… strangely animalistic. You swear you can see heat signatures behind every wall. Then when the lights rarely get turned off, you have no problem seeing either, gaining the ability of having night vision. Still, figures can be seen walking around.
Your sense of smell sharpened. You can pick up the slightest change in scents circulating the air.
Your hearing capabilities have increased tenfolds. You could hear any sort of movement within your cushioned confines. It goes to the extent where you can hear yourself blink if you really concentrate, how your blood races to your heart then waves travels to your veins, and the clear indication of footsteps of others around you. Even if someone tried to tip toing around outside, you’d still pick it up.
You can now taste things within the air even if it can’t be seen or touched. Sounds weird and it is. Basically, you can find particles of the scent in the air and convert it to a taste on your taste buds.
Last but not least is touch. Any form of contact against your skin feels intimate. Even laying a hand on your own face feels like it’s too much. Makes your skin crawl. It feels like you can never cover up.
The pain was ongoing and with your senses heightened, there was not much you could do. Well it’s been like that from the start. No matter how hopeless it felt, in the end, you had a single goal in mind… survive. Such an instinctual reaction that the body does. Your sense of self preservation amazed even your deepest conscience that you have the will to live still, even in this state.
An endless cycle of misery for your body, your soul to endure.
Your plan now… survive first, find a way to live later.

“Mmhmm!” Someone loudly cleared their throats.
It startled you awake, as you cracked your eyes open.
“Well, I’m surprised you made it this far.” A man in a clean white lab coat joyfully chimed with both of his hands in his pockets. “From what I hypothesized, you should have died right after you woke up. Surely you didn’t stand a chance. I guess you proved me wrong? Isn’t that great?”
“You owe me that money you promised, you old fart.”
“Yeah, yeah shut up, you bastard.”
The other scientist, a guy who looks a little older than you crouched down next to you. He had a disgusting smile plastered onto his face. His sick urges had him yanking your hair back, gripping it from your root to make you look up at him. Oh how he loves your expression. It got a pleasant chuckle out of him. If only you had enough strength, you’d gladly dig your fingers into his eyes to scoop them out, toss them onto the ground to be stomped under your feet. Sick of you to think that way, but why not? For the fun of it.
“Still, you really think we can put her to some good use? I mean look at her? The stupid bitch can’t even sit let alone speak. I say she’s a lost cause.” A woman hissed with her arms crossed over her chest. “A waste of our time and resources if you ask me.”
Aww doesn’t she sound like a jealous old bitch.
Fuck off you old hag.
“We can’t consider her a failure since she hasn’t died yet, but… we shouldn’t consider her a success either. So sad. What wasted potential?” A younger guy added further back.
“Doesn’t matter. Let’s see how our other toys react to her? Who knows, maybe we’d finally get some entertainment around here? It’s been a while. I’m sure she’ll be a great plaything for them hahaha!” Another person said.
Their voices alone were agonizing as it screwed with your sensation. They probably know that already. Then it comes back, the pain on top of the agony you are trying to endure. You passed out while being able to hear the thriller of evil they had in mind.
