Quite frankly, Gilderoy had no idea who or what had forced him in that broom closet. However, as he turned around to find Mary in there with him, he couldn’t help but to entertain the idea this was all her plan. A light smirk played on his lips as he non chalantly leaned against one of the shelves. “Couldn’t stay away from me, MacDonald?” He let out, the smirk not once fading from his face. “But I’m sure there would’ve been other hiding places where your boyfriend wouldn’t have found us.”

A broom closet was… quite an unusual location to meet someone. If that could be called meeting - they really didn’t say they’d meet there, but someone surely decided they would be doing so. In any case, when he realized - and recognized - who he’d been forced in a closet with, a smile grew on Gilderoy’s lips. “This must be the closet of fate if I’ve found such a beautiful person in here.” Perhaps, this would be more entertaining than he thought.

Perhaps his priorities were a little messed up, but the moment he was shoved in that broom closet, Gilderoy’s first thought wasn’t about getting out. No, definitely, with the force used to push both inside, his hair was meant to look terrible now. And he just so happened to have forgotten his mirror in his dorm. There was absolutely no way he would allow himself to walk out of that broom closet with his hair in a mess. “Tell me, does my hair still look flawless?” He said, turning to the other, vaguely familiar, person that was in there with him.

She’d been aimlessly wandering the corridor, if only to get a little peace and quiet. The common room was just too… crowded these days. All of a sudden she heard a loud bang. Ever the curious one, she had to see what had happened. That’s when she spied a ridiculous looking Gilderoy. “Erm… what’re you doing Lockhart?”

Lockhart looked up at Hestia, surprise in his face for a moment, although he tried to cover it up with a smile a few seconds later. “I am working on a top secret project.” Well, technically, it was. He hadn’t told anyone about it, and he’d rather keep it that way until it was perfected. “You see, takes a few mistakes before you reach perfection.”

Phin had been trying to throw himself into extra credit work in an attempt to distract himself. It also meant he was alone. He was about to enter the classroom when he heard a loud explosion, his eyebrows furrowing in concern as he darted through the door. A scoff escaped his lips at the sight, and Phin pulled out his wand. “Need a hand clearing this up?” He asked drily.

He was a little startled when the other walked in, and a little ashamed someone would see him looking like that. But he had worse things to worry about for now. “If you’re proposing so kindly, I don’t think I could say no.” He replied with a smile, trying to pass it off as nothing. But in reality, it wasn’t, and it was taking him everything to hold up that façade he built.

Mary’s eyes narrowed as Gilderoy sat at her table, ready to retort with an snarky comeback to his inevitable pick up line. But it never came. Her features softened slightly and she rubbed the back of her neck. She needed to think of a lie, she certainly couldn’t tell him that she was in St Mungos from Christmas day until the New Year. Could she? “Oh, just stayed at home, helping with my brother,” She lied, shrugging her shoulders. 

Lockhart gave a small nod at her answer, smile not leaving his lips. “That is so nice of you, Mary. Oh, me, you ask?” He added, pretending like she’d asked back. Not that she did - or probably would - he just wanted to sound interesting for you. “I traveled, actually. It was... enlightening.” He said naturally, and the best part was how he wasn’t even lying about it. But he knew he would not be going into more details.

“Yeah, I guess I am.” she replied with a laugh when he kissed her cheek. Sybill didn’t thrive on compliments but it was still nice to get them every once in a while, especially from Lockhart who seemed to prefer receiving them instead of getting them. It was an unlikely friendship but it worked for the two of them. “Then it’s a plan.” she replied, growing silent until the skating was over. “Okay, I have a deck in my bag. Would you rather wait to go back to school or do this here?”

Almost as soon as the show was over, Gilderoy turned to face her. If it was just for him, he’d do it right here right now, but he thought it might be better to find a more comfortable place. However, Hogwarts was a little far for his liking. “Maybe not here here, but we could find a table someone, grab a drink and something to drink.” He proposed. "I’ll pay for everything.”

Fabian was never one to leave things alone, which is why when they heard someone-clearly upset- they decided to figure out what was going on. Just because they weren’t good at the emotional side of things doesn’t mean that they didn’t care. “Is everything, ya know, good?” Fabian asked Gilderoy, gesturing to them and the shredded parchment in front of him.

Lockhart did his best to keep his smile up as he looked at the other. “Everything’s just fine.” He lied. Maybe his fake stories were obvious lies, but when faking happiness, he liked to think he wasn’t so bad at it. “Oh that? Just some assignments. I can’t find the correct wording to be up to my standards.” He said with a smile, a brief motion to the parchment.

“an outfit doesn’t change your face or how amazing you look.” he said simply. “clothes mean nothing. they’re just a status symbol. you’d still look amazing.” 

“Is that why you’re dressed like this?” Lockhart asked with a raised eyebrow. “I’m sorry to inform you but... status is everything here. Welcome to reality.”

“I what, no?” Corban’s brows knit together as he shook his head. “I don’t want your bloody autograph, what the fuck?”

Gilderoy let out a small chuckle at the other’s response. “You say that now, but you’ll come back for one in a few years. And I won’t be giving it for free.”

“If you have to ask me, then you’re already losing my interest, Lockhart.” Alex sighed dramatically, looking around, as if to find someone else to bug and bother. It was all just for the sake of it, however; he was interesting enough to hang around with. Eventually, however, she focused back on him. “Surely, you can prove yourself better.”

Of course, he knew why she was there, and he wouldn’t complain about it. He wouldn’t mind hearing a story or two that he could use in the future, but he also needed a distraction. “Your loss, then.” He replied, acting as if he was going back to his schoolwork, when in reality he just started packing everything. “So, want to get out of here?”

When he received the letter with the Koldovstoretz emblem on it, some hope was raised in Gilderoy. However, after reading it and learning there was nothing the headmaster could do for his sisters, he felt something breaking inside of him. So he ripped the letter apart and threw it in the flames of the fireplace in his common room, and walked out. He needed a distraction, needed to stop thinking about the failure he was becoming, and there was one thing that crossed his mind. He had thought about inventing something, a shampoo to be exact, to help his hair look better, and now seemed like the right time. So he let his feet lead him to the potions room, and he started grabbing some ingredients. He didn’t know where to start, but he did a few researchers before so he tried going off them, and started mixing in ingredients. Up until the mixture exploded, resulting in him being covered in it. Gilderoy let out a loud sigh, mentally crossing out this mix, not even realizing someone else was there.

ted had just been released from the hospital wing and even though he was still in a lot of pain, he was glad to be out. “think it’s too soon to go back to practicing my dueling?” he asked. sure he’d been told to take it easy and rest, but that seemed rather pointless given everything going on. 

Quite frankly, Gilderoy didn’t know the other much, and he didn’t care much either as a result. Part of him knew it might be better to rest, but then you’d risk missing on many good stories. “I think it depends on how you feel. No one knows you better than yourself.” He said with a small shrug.

“Yeah, I know we aren’t allowed to have alcohol on school grounds.” she said as she took another sip from her bottle of firewhiskey. “But joining me is more fun than reporting me, you know.” 

An eyebrow raised at the other’s proposition. “You don’t have to tell me that twice.” And it wasn’t long until a smile appeared, extending a hand for the bottle. “I’d ask why you’re drinking but I’ve been told that can be impolite.”
