He paused for a moment, before: “I like geography.” Which wasn’t exactly incorrect, in a way, but was phrased rather uncertain. “Oh – well, I guess it’s different for everyone then, maybe? But I’ve never been good with it.” He gave her an almost apologetic smile.

Logan raised a brow as she gave him a skeptical look, not quite believing his words. Then again, it wasn’t like she trusted anyone to begin with, especially if the person doesn’t even sound sure of their own words. “What’s wrong with silence?”

“Well – we do… we’re on a plate. But that’s why we don’t get many earthquakes. The plate moving doesn’t affect us too much.” The excitement in his voice grew as she showed greater interest. “People tell me I do.” He laughed. “But silence is boring, isn’t it?” 

“How do you even know this stuff?” Logan’s brows furrowed as she listened to him, still feeling confused. “I don’t mind the silence, I find it comforting at times.” She gave a shrug of her shoulders, it wasn’t something that she had the chance to relish in often.

“Oh, they’re what makes up the Earth’s lithosphere, and why we get earthquakes.” Jean explained with a small smile. “Well, not here… but in other places.” The blond shook his head at her comment. “No, it’s boring I guess. It’s okay.” He offered a smile. “What would you like to talk about?” 

Logan just felt even more confused at his explanation, though that could have had more to do with the fact that she hadn’t even been paying attention. “So we don’t have whatever they’re called here?” She attempted to make an effort with the conversation. “You really like talking don’t you?”

“Oh, well… I’m sorry.” Jean said, his hand lifting to adjust his cap awkwardly. “I thought we were having a nice conversation… were you not interested in tectonic plates?” He looked at her curiously. “We can change the conversation if you’d like?”

“I have no idea what they even are.” Logan let out a frustrated sigh as she rubbed her forehead, though she couldn’t help but feel slightly guilty at seeing how her words had effected him. “Sorry, that was-- rude of me.” She forced out, unable to look him in the eye.

Levi had text Logan over twenty minutes ago and he still hadn’t got a reply from her. He knew she was awake, she’d been online a few minutes ago yet he was still waiting for a reply. To others, it may have seemed like he was worried about her which maybe he was to a certain extent but it was more of a control thing if he had texted her he expected a reply straight away. “You didn’t reply to my text.” He stated simply, his eyes sweeping past her to look into the apartment. 

“And that meant you needed to break into my apartment in the middle of the night?” Logan raised a brow as she crossed her arms over her chest stubbornly. She could feel her annoyance building even more but as usual, did her best to reign it in considering everything Levi had done for her. “Look, I just wanted some time to myself Levi. I was tired and didn’t want to talk to anyone.”

❝ if there’s an opportunity to shut you up , i’ll gladly take it . ❞ Logan grumbled under her breath as she silently prayed for the other to finally leave her alone in peace so she could enjoy her drink.

Nadia tsked, shaking her head. “Touch my things again and I’ll put my pen through your neck.” The blonde plucked the postcard out of the person’s hand before placing it back down on the table in front of her. The back of the postcard was blank, it had never been sent yet it had sentimental value. It was a pretty picture of the Palace of Westminster, a place she had never visited. “And no, it’s not from someone. I happen to like London. I have always wanted to visit. Especially the palaces. Have you ever been?”

“You can try, it would sure be interesting to see it happen but I think that guy might have something to say about it.” Logan shrugged as she pointed over her shoulder, to where Levi was sat watching. “He’s a tad protective you see.” Obviously if he wasn’t there, she wouldn’t have been quite as confident but the girl couldn’t help wondering whether the stranger would actually go through with her threat. “Once. With my brother.” At the admission, Logan couldn’t help but go silent as she was reminded once again of Jamie.

Logan came to a halt at the bottom of the stairs, frowning at the unexpected presence of the other. Unaware the front door had been opened by anyone. "What are you doing here? It’s 2 AM! Is something wrong?”  It was beside the point that she hadn’t long gotten in herself.

“It’s a real shame I missed all the fun.” Zach had heard about the incidents when he had got back to town. Very poorly timed, really – he only wished he had been around. “What are the chances of putting on another show?” 

“What fun?” Logan had no idea what had been happening in town instead having been busy focusing on sorting her brother’s belongings at his place.
