One of the things I love the most about Malec is what a great friendship they also have, like… from the moment they meet we see Alec smile more and we see Magnus finally opening himself up to someone, “you seem sympathetic” and they spend all night drinking cocktails and just talking, and Alec being concerned about Magnus exerting himself and helping him clean his place and everything.

Alec never talks to anyone about his personal life, but then there’s Magnus who with just smile makes Alec trust him and tell him about his worries and fears and anger, about his parents lying to him and seeking advice in Magnus, something Magnus gladly gives him, we get to see someone who doesn’t refer to Magnus as “just a warlock” and we get to see Magnus letting Alec know he considers him the head of the NY institute. 

And Alec doesn’t stop to explain why he’s marrying Lydia to anyone, except when it comes to Magnus. He tells him and explains him why “it makes sense” because beyond his feelings for Magnus, with him it’s easy to open up about his personal life, and they can joke around each other (innuendos even) without things being uncomfortable, and Magnus helps him and Izzy for free and advices Alec to choose his happiness over duty, no matter if Magnus is who he wants or not. 

And they support each other so much, even after their kiss Magnus is there to make him smile and distract him from feeling bad and Alec is there worried about Magnus suffering and watching the people he cares about die and I just… I love their love, and I know most things I listed are things people romantically interested do as well, but Magnus and Alec besides their romance are also friends who talk about things and laugh about things and care about the other’s happiness even if it’s not with each other and it’s so beautiful.

Okay but imagine, Malec switched at birth AU. The Institute gets a call that a Nephilim baby has been left abandoned at a Downworlder hospital, and Alec Lightwood decides he’ll be the one to take the child in. On the same day, Magnus Bane gets a call that a warlock baby has been left at the same hospital, and rushes to help. Both take home a child, and think nothing of it.

Until a few days later when Alec’s son, Max’s, skin begins to change blue. And Magnus can’t feel any magic coming off his son, Rafael. And that’s when both realize something has gone very wrong.

After years of searching through documents from the hospital, Alec thinks he’s finally found the name of the man whose baby his was swapped with. Agreeing to meet, Alec travels to an apartment in Brooklyn, and the two get to meet the children who were supposed to be theirs. Deciding to work together, Alec and Magnus share custody of the kids, learning both them - and each other.

After dating for some time and watching their children grow, Alec finally pops the question to Magnus - and now the four of them get to finally be an official family. Together.

No, but think about this.

The crows she feeds obviously have their own little lives. They go about their business, and they spot *pretty thing* or /unique thing/ in question. What gets me is that the *first* thing on their minds as recipient of this thing is the little girl that feeds them.

They spot a thing, and immediately must think, “that nice girl with delicious foodstuffs must have this to show my gratitude.”

It’s actually more than that, though, if you read the articles or watch the videos. This has taken place over YEARS- it started with these birds following this little girl around because she was a messy eater and it has turned into a ritual for the family. They have a water station and food stations where they daily set out things for these birds and sometimes (but not always), these birds leave ‘payment’ behind for the food.

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE

These birds are not just taking food and leaving shinies. These birds are watching over this family now. Their lives have become involved. These crows are keeping track of this girl and her mother even when they are out of the yard. How do we know?

One of them is a photographer, and one day while she was photographing some stuff on a bridge, she dropped her camera’s lenscap over the edge. There was no way she could get it back, so she left it. When she got home, the lenscap was sitting on the edge of one of the feeding stations, waiting for her.

Not only were the birds following and watching over her, they were smart enough to realize she dropped an Important Thing and cared enough to bring it back to her.
