Me trying to explain the relationships in Gossip Girl Season 1 to my friends (spoiler) :
So, there's a girl who moved back to town after she went to boarding school for one year and nobody knows why. This girl had a best friend, who had a boyfriend, who had a best friend too. But then the best friend of the girl who went to boarding school found out that her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend and she starts dating the best friend of her ex, who becomes the stepbrother of her ex best friend, because their parents marry (like obviously). The girl who went to boarding school starts dating a boy, who is like the biggest loser in town, and his sister starts a war between her and the girl who has been dating her brother's ex best friend, who is friends with her again. The parents of the loser and the girl who went to a boarding school had something together in the past and they still have feelings for each other, even when their both married to someone. The wife of the loser's father moved away and cheated on him, then she moves back to her family and then she moves away again.
Holy shit.

I finished Gossip Girl season 1...
...And I don't know what to think of it. This whole drama with Georgina was in my opinion too overrated, and this war between Blair and Jenny was just stupid. Jenny is a dumb bitch, I know that now, but Blair has finally got my respect.
Now we need to appreciate Eric van der Woodsen. He is a loving brother, he is damn cute, he was in a clinic, and HE IS GAY. I ADORE HIM. He is just so ggwjkaolmslmsbshdjbscsgccckxkd :3
I love how the friendship of Serena and Blair developed at the end, but I totally don't get WHY THE HELL Serena and Dan split up. They were both stupid and overreacting, they ruined their relationship, not Georgina. Speaking of pairs, the best scene in the whole season was Chuck falling for Blair and then after seeing Amelia (??) immediately dropping her off and changing into his old "habits", the same as Blair. Well, some things never change hahaha
I have nothing against Nate and Vanessa, but the two don't look right together, if ykwim. I was a bit disappointed that Rufus and Lily didn't end up together, yet, but I'll see what the next season brings XD
My first Gossip Girl thoughts
So I started watching Gossip Girl today and I've finished the first 9 episodes of season 1. I LOVE IT, but I don't like Dan. In the first episode he was a total loser and then he changed "overnight" to a perfect and experienced boyfriend? Duh.
My favourite characters are definitely Jenny and Eric, but I can't believe that Jenny is only 14. She acts like a 16 year old, at least :/
I ship the two of them, Blair and Chuck and Rufus and Lily. Allison is stupid and don't try to change my mind. I have nothing against Serena and Dan, but they aren't my favourite ship.
I'm looking forward to watch the next episodes yeey
(Major Loki spoilers ahead, proceed at your own risk) (also cursing. and general extreme anger)
What the hell. What the absolute hell. I want to cry and I want to scream and instead I'm just sitting here numb, when what I really want to do is force Waldron to rewrite the series. I didn't realize I could dislike what any person did to the MCU as much as I disliked the Russos' additions. I've been proven wrong.
I honestly don't even know how to describe my feelings about this episode. I think the biggest thing for me though (and don't get me wrong, there's a very large amount of things), is that I feel duped, and mislead. We saw several scenes in the trailers of Loki in Asgard, Loki swinging some person around, a whole introspective quote about himself. They showed none of that. Okay, sure, "will return in season 2" bs, but you don't fucking put clips, important looking clips, of the show in trailers that you're actually not including. What the absolute hell??
Not to mention that ridiculous cliffhanger. Nothing was resolved. All they did was leave us with more questions! The least, the very least they could have done was resolve an emotional arc or two. They didn't even deign to do that!
This wasn't a season. It was a prologue. A first act, at best. Seasons are supposed to be complete. Remember those plot diagrams we did in middle school? Rising action, climax, falling action, etc? I think Waldron might have missed that day in class. /s
There was no narrative resolution. They leave us with no clear end in sight, ever. Season 2 could just as easily have an unresolved ending now with the excuse it'll be resolved in Dr. Strange. Then Dr. Strange doesn't actually resolve it either. And on, and on, and on. Dear lord.
I understand that all these Disney+ shows have been in weird, semi-experimental formatting. But if you're trying out some kind of splicing format for the show, leaving large gaps between sections of the story in a cinematic-esque style, fucking say that. Explain to people what we're getting. And most importantly, don't fucking mislead us with trailers like that. It's incredibly manipulative.
Fans, especially fans of a larger franchise like the MCU, rely and trust their writers/directors for content. Media can make a huge impact on people, and when you sign up to create media you're signing an implicit contract between yourself and the viewers. We trust you, often with incredibly emotionally intense things.
Trailers like this are in utter violation of that trust. I'm not even talking about the writing of the characters. Yeah, I'm very unhappy about some of the directions Loki's character took, but I can understand that this character is not in my control. That's acceptable to me. What's absolutely unacceptable is the out-right lying. Not even for the sake of withholding spoilers! Just complete, blatant, deceit.
This isn't even getting into my issues with the Sylki arc, and a POC being the big villain, and the continued degrading of Loki in his own show. That's another post entirely.
Loki Finale Review
I just watched Loki finale and BEWARE SPOILERS because I'm gonna tell y'all about it, so here is my opinion. Sorry.
And OMG, what the actual fork did I just watched, don't get me wrong I liked it, I think. (I'm just a bit bitter because of the ending) which let's be real, broke my brain. And since I'm talking about the ending, what the fuck dude! That's not an ending, that's a cliffhanger at best. The sensation reminded me of a dagger in the back, which I guess is appropriate for a Loki Show, but still, it hurts. I can't get over the fact that Loki lost again, not just against his narratives, but also he lost his new friend Mobius!! Loki's Mobius was what, erased?! I'm not crying, you are.
Sorry i'm gonna need a minute.
Ok I'm back
So our Mobius is no more, I'm sad, Loki is probably devastated, and that's it. End title, no post credit scene, see ya next year? maybe, I don't know. ok, I guess.
Anyway, let's talk about all the good things, shall we?
I'm just gonna list them all, you ready ?
-So I loved, LOVED Miss Minutes, I still don't know what she is, but damn, you go gurl.
-The Music, the costumes, the scenery, the special effects, all of it was as always, perfect! That scene where all the branches cracks up was magnificent
-The 'He who remains' guy, terrible name, (I think he is called Kang right?), but nevermind because this guy is terrific, loved his vibe, his charisma, loved his big scray mansion on the Hill, he got style, he got sass. I want more of this dude, and that's exactly what we will have, and I'm so thrilled about it!
-Ravonna, I liked her in this epsisode, I wasn't quite sure until then if I liked her or not, now I know. I really liked her interaction with Mobius, and I'm kinda glad they did not fight in the end, cause Ravonna is clearly more combat skilled than Mobius. And deep down I think that Ravonna cares for Mobius.
And at the very end she escaped right before the big Multiverse Blast, there is still so much we don't know about her, like what was contained in the files that Miss Minutes gave her ? Where did she go? Will we see her again? Maybe in another Marvel show/movie. I hope so.
-Happy to see B-15 out of their cell.
-And finally, let's talk about Loki and Sylvie. Loki and Sylvie are both amazing characters. Both Lokis but still completely different. Sylvie is like the evil twin and Loki is, well, he is so much more now than he was at the begining of his journey. His growth in this show is astonishing. Loki's growth plus Sylvie's betrayle was so well orchastred. I did not see this coming until the very last second. Loki is the true hero in this story and Sylvie is the true villain. Loki now knows how beltrayal feels, how terribly wrong he did in the past, he is a better person now, maybe the best version of himself he will ever be.
Sure, there are some people who will disagree with me, but I don't mind at all, if you wanna talk I'm here!
And the thing I'm certainly going to enjoy, is the sheer chaos this Series finale will create on the socials. I mean, if you're a fan of the trickster god you gotta love and embrace the chaos. And oh boy, we are about to get A LOT of that !!!
So yeah, can't wait to see all of your reviews/memes/fanfics/fanarts and other marvelous stuff you'll create. See y'all in a minute ;)
Warning: Loki Spoilers and Ranting
I know Loki is a complex character, he is this loner with a painful backstory, that's just how he is and yada yada yada, but Marvel, you can't do this.
I liked this episode, I overall liked it, it was not perfect, I have my critics, but it's not bad. However, there is something that went completely out of the line and that's how Marvel is treating Loki.
In the first episode, Loki is stripped of everything: regal robes (regal status), powers, magic, his future, his free will, hope.
It's pretty bad, right? But then the serie goes on promising you, promising Loki he will gain new things on his journey.
And then Marvel stripped him of everything again, of the only two things he had gained: a friend, Mobius, and a love interest, Sylvie.
Now, I don't like Loki x Sylvie, at all, so I am kind of happy at least second season is not them two being a couple and fighting evil (I felt discomfort during their kiss, I couldn't handle an entire second season like this).
So yeah, I saw Loki destroyed emotionally, but it was kind of a relief I didn't have to watch them interact as a "couple" (putting quotes because Loki loved her, Sylvie couldn't give half a fuck about Loki, let's be honest).
But taking away Mobius was too much, because now Loki doesn't have anything.
Like before, no hope, no magic, no future, but now he also lost the two things he received "in exchange" of what he previously had.
As much as I hate Loki x Sylvie, I would have almost felt better if the stuck together, because at least Loki would have had someone, but you can't simply take everything from Loki and expect him to go on. Why? Because when they took everything from Thor he became depressed AND HE HAD EVERY RIGHT TO BE, EVEN IF MARVEL ONLY MADE FUN OF HIM FOR HIS WEIGHT. (You lost your family and your people and half of the universe in gone because you made a mistake? That's no excuse not to work out, fatso, right? Thanks, Marvel, I hope whoever wrote that gained some weight during quarantine and they are coming to terms being fat doesn't make them any more bad writers than they were before).
SO LOKI DESERVES TIME AND COMPREHENSION TOO AFTER ALL HE LIVED THROUGH, BUT I HAVE A FEELING MARVEL WON'T GIVE HIM ANY OF THE TWO, RIGHT?
Because you can't simply put a character, a person, through that amount of suffering and expect them to keep going, keep going.
I want a Loki that is actually destroyed, I want to see him explode, have a breakdown, because I am sick of just "letting him suffer, because we'll milk the cow of his hurt expressions until he dies again".
Stop it, please. You can't break him again and again and expect me to believe he stands up just like that and the progresses he made are untouched. The progresses he made in trusting people should be shattered by now, in an almost irreparable way.
And if you think I am being dramatic over just a character, I am protesting for representation of growth and what betrayal does to it. Of human psyche. Humans sometimes break, they are frail objects, you can't expect them to simply erase what bad things happened to them, you can't write a character like this. And I am sick, so sick of seeing Loki suffering because that's how you engage the viewers, hurting their feelings.
I hope we can all get a Loki who ended up with something good in his life, something happy, because he deserves it, otherwise they are just enforcing the idea a complex character in a bad place can never get better, that they are doomed because hurting them again and again is easier than trying to heal them. Hope and happiness are only for the heroes, right? The rest can suffer, it's not like pain will have a consequences anyway.
I've just finished watching Loki. WHAT THE HELL?!
