A Day In The Life of Lomi Via Daily Water Consumption!
*disclaimer: this post doesn’t contain photos because I have bad signal and I can’t upload them so I’ll just make another post for the photoset
HELLO! Welcome to a day in the life of Lomi Mutuc with the use of an evaluation of her daily water consumption! VOILA!
So I’m going to start by discussing which activities average humans, like myself, do that consumes water. If you think about it, we use water to do one thing, that is, to clean. And our daily life water consumption is basically divided into three things, we clean our insides (drinking), we clean our outsides (bathing), and we clean the things around us (washing, laundry, bathroom stuff). TYG for water for making us some little less dirty humans!!! To incorporate this in my day-to-day business, here is a list of today’s activities I did that used water:
1) Bathing (includes washing my face aka skin care)
2) Toilet flushing
3) Bidet
4) Hand washing
5) Drinking
6) Brushing my teeth
7) Cooking
To make sure that I actually measure my water consumption in a relatively precise manner, I used a used Mott’s Apple Juice bottle (1.9L), a pail, and a glass. The apple juice bottle can contain 9 glasses of water so a glass is around 0.3 liter(s). A pail can contain x6 of that of the apple juice bottle so that’s roughly 11.4 liters. Now that I’ve set the standards, let’s start
1) FIRST thing on the list is bathing. I personally hate showers because a) we don’t have a heater b) I use the kettle to heat water 3) so pails are my best friends. This exercise is relatively easier (compared to people who uses the shower wew hirap i-measure nun) because the water I use for bathing is easier to calculate. When I take a bath I use 4 pails of water. I wouldn’t go into detail anymore hahaha.
PAIL COUNT: 6
WATER CONSUMPTION IN LITERS: 68.4
2) NEXT is toilet flushing. Well, this is kind of tricky because we use automatic flush at home so I just researched it. The toilets at home are relatively new so I based it on the amount of ‘ultra-low-flow’ or ULF toilets on the internet[1,2] and it shows that every flush uses 6 liters of water.
FLUSH COUNT: 8
WATER CONSUMPTION IN LITERS: 48
3) THIRD is bidet. I measured this and I use 2 glasses of water when I bidet. How? I measured the rate (time and amount of water using the glass) of my bidet use.
BIDET COUNT: 7 (the bidet count is less than the flush count because we went to the mall and mall comfort rooms do not have bidets)
WATER CONSUMPTION IN LITERS: 4.2
4) FOURTH is hand washing. I used one apple juice bottle per hand wash.
APPLE JUICE BOTTLE COUNT: 12 (also includes the estimated 1 apple juice bottle per hand wash when I was in the mall)
WATER CONSUMPTION IN LITERS: 22.8
5) NEXT is drinking. I consumed 14 glasses of water today.
GLASS COUNT: 14
WATER CONSUMPTION IN LITERS: 4.2
6) OF COURSE brushing my teeth is included in my list. I used 7 glasses of water when I brushed my teeth.
GLASS COUNT: 14
WATER CONSUMPTION IN LITERS: 4.2
7) LAST on the list is cooking. I used 1 apple juice bottle. I also had soup today I don’t know if that counts but I’m gonna include it anyway. That’s once again roughly 10 glasses of water.
GLASS COUNT: 10
APPLE JUICE BOTTLE COUNT: 1
WATER CONSUMPTION IN LITERS: 4.9
As you may have noticed, not included in the list are the miscellaneous house hold activities like watering the plants, cleaning the house in general, bathing the dog, laundry, car washing, dish washing because I don’t actually do those activities. Huhuhuhu. I know I indirectly benefit from them but there’s no way to actually measure it and from what I understood is that this activity only includes our personal day-to-day water consumption evaluation.
TOTAL WATER CONSUMPTION: 108.7 liters or 28.7 gallons
That is all! I hope youre contented with this content. That has been a day in the life of Lomi with her daily water consumption. GOOD NIGHT!
