Freddie Dredd's Inferno Tour w/ Doomshop Records ⚒️ (Feb. 28, 2023)
The Questionable Death of A$AP Yams
A$AP YAMS aka Yamborghini aka Brad Litt aka #GymFlow Rodriguez (and plenty more) the co-founder/manager/ of A$AP World Wide and sprite guide to A$AP ROCKY & the mob leaves the internet in a shroud of mystery, after passing away leaving many mourning over his death.
It’s still very unclear as to the cause of death but many close to the young mogul such as Retchy P, Asap Ant and Joey Fatts have mentioned it was not a lean/xanax overdose as twitter users would have you presume. ASVP NVST tweeted this shortly after his passing making the entire tragedy even more questionable and Illuminati-esque.
Yams tumblr presence pioneered the path of the modern day hip hop dynamic. A big chunk of the A$AP aesthetic comes from an amalgamation of the different hip-hop subcultures within the genre, and Yams was the catalyst for that reaction.
Indeed, the culture has suffered a huge loss with his passing. Yams leaves behind a prolific internet presence riddled with humor and wisdom. His realniggatumblr displays the orchestration and come-up of his team and their aesthetic over a span of 7-8 years. He crafted the art of brand promotion through cyber space, bridging the streets, high fashion and flyweirdo. Yams was (next to Lil’ B perhaps) essentially the blue-print for resourceful ingenuity in today’s industry. Leaving behind family, friends and a plethora of whys and hows, Young Yamborghini will be remembered as a taste maker for this generation. With an ear for talent and a real nigga aura, Yams created creative space for a collective of artists from the east to the west coast.
The plethora of knowledge his dome held was a testament to his genuine love for the culture. Below we share a few poignant pieces from his archives.
“I am a God, and as a God nothing should have control over them whether it’s lust drugs money or any vice.”
In another excerpt, Yams discusses the key to gettin it.
blackpharaohly asked: Key to Success Bruh?, I Know you know it ha
sacrifice young blood in whatever ur passion is. i wore the same outfit 2 years straight cuz all my money was embedded into this rap shit in making pretty flacko pop. even now my social life weak cuz ppl be infuriated that i dont hang out wit dem idgaf i need all this money not when diddy out here pouring ace of spades all over his designer shoes at after parties n still up by 8am the next business day. not even to sound like some rapper but my main b*tch always gon be my side b*tch cuz im married to this hustle just gimmie 6 foot yellow b*tch to pop a seed in and let me sit on her shoulders at concerts and im str8
Yams and his views on social injustice.
damnblackkids asked: Whats your thoughts on situations like what happen to eric garner NYC and michael brown in STL?
I feel for the family of michael brown and eric garner. I just dont like to discuss current events on social media because everyone turns righteous or an activist for a few hours then 4 tweets later b*tches posting half naked pictures. I rather not talk about it and just do my part towards a good cause in real life not the internet. We wildin the f*** out as people in 2014 though. It’s also depressing that instead of going at the enemy they’re destroying the properties and businesses of their own communities. That’s like you in a fight get smacked and you just standing there shadow boxing with tears rolling down your face like Cuba Gooding in Boyz N Da Hood b. Nothing revolutionary about that. Everybody a hitter, rather help with the self destruction and genocide of their own people than go at the very same group of people that’s trying to destroy them.
F*** America though, I’m moving to Dominican Republic and building a farm when I get wealthy. My babies deserve more than to be raised in this savage ass country. Once you go to other parts of the world you realize America aint shit. Other countries have a better standard of living and are 1000x more cultured. People in America dont speak more than one language and have a hard time speaking mothaf***in english.
Signing out your boy Young Yams aka Huey P. Rican hahhn
The elements that make a successful artist.
chaddwoo asked: Whats the criteria for you to sign an artist?
natural talent and charisma. if you dont have any personality or a likable person outside the booth chances are you wouldn’t prosper too long in the rap game. i be watching certain rappers n be like damn dawgs u just trying too hard right now steiner recline dem limbs my guy. others just romanticize the idea of being a rapper those are the worse. the ones with barely any followers on twitter leaking snippets and their recording progress on their project like if they any fan base that really give a f*** about that. their level is self importance is off the hinges…
nothin a real tear jerker than seeing somebody talented with a wack ass team behind them f***in whatever potential career they have up. they’re so out of tune with helping the development of the artist shit is sad im the rap game phil jackson right now though only 24 taking over label buildings treatin it like its rikers island buildings ju heard. I’m tryna breed young black millionaires for the next 15 years.
On consumer mentality in Hip Hop
slightlyintroverted asked: What’s your opinion of 40 Year old rappers? can you see any of your mob doing that sort of thing?
There is going to have to come a time where the hip hop community (no russell simmons) wakes up and gets over the out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new mentality that was fed to us. Our genre is the only one that faces these kind of problems. Axl Rose treats his fans like piece of garbage and can come back 10 years later and do a world tour. There’s no reason why Rakim shouldnt be doing Vegas right now. They try to make our genre as disposable as possible. I’m all with supporting the youth but at the same time we cant forget our roots and where we come from it will only inspire to make better music.
The only person that really will stand the test of time in the 40 year old rapper category is 40 Fonzarelli and Too Short because the bay’s support system is crazy. Only if every other region supported their underground/indie acts just as much as they do the mainstream ones.
