I am back to work after recovering from my surgery! Still very tired and struggling a bit but I finally got what looks to be good sized macrame yarn for an attempted redo of that shell purse!
Hello! Im back again with another glorious design by TheresasCrochetShop, I'll tell you this person is an artist! I've purchased a few other designs recently from them I do plan on doing however I will be having surgery tomorrow so I will be unable to crochet comfortably for at least a few days, likely longer.
This sloth has been highly requested by my coworker and after 2 tries on my own and another try with a different pattern, I finally found this in Theresa's shop and immediately bought the pattern.
Fantastic work up, very easy to put together, the holding pose is very cute :)
Hello! I took a small break from my mosaic patterns (why oh why do they become the most dreaded things to make even thought I WANT to make them XD)
I've been wanting to do this for quite some thing but it was always pretty intimidating and I'll tell you what, it certainly can be in practice! It overall didn't take me super long, roughly 3 hours but that also included restarting entirely several times as well as redoing many rows haha but! Overall I am very pleased with the results!
For this project I used Peaches and Creme Emerald Energy Ombre in weight 4 however this was not the best yarn to use for this type of project. It's far too small and too limp (even for cotton yarn) and it created essentially a tiny version of the purse. I fear even two strands wouldn't make it a very good size. I plan on doing more research on different types of yarn that might be good for this and I will definitely be making it again.
I followed this lovely tutorial and while at times it was difficult to follow, I was able to fill in gaps where needed due to relevant experience with crocheting.

I just finished making the Hantu icon! Working on Oni now :) Any ghosts you're particularly excited to see? Let me know! Don't forget I opened a brand new shop so please check it out!

I have finished making all the charts to all the icons (excluding the three new ghosts as they don't seem to have icons as of yet) but the physical pieces are taking a bit longer so here are all the ones I've done so far!

Good morning folks! So I have finally decided to start posting my mosaic crochet designs to an etsy shop. At the moment, I'm posting the ghost icons from the game Phasmophobia but I do hope to add a larger variety of designs later on!
Anything you can do to show support is appreciated, whether it be liking, reblogging or even checking out the shop, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I loved doing this blanket honestly! And it builds up so fast. I actually started this at least a year ago but got distracted by other things in my life, I found it again when I had that yarn fiasco going on and was *thankful* it didn't get ruined. It's shockingly lightweight, used weight 4 yarn. Unfortunately I don't recall *what* yarn anymore other than that it was Bernat baby yarn that came in a cake, lovely colors.

Hello! Took a break from pattern making to make a shawl for my boss's birthday! Unfortunately the pattern is no longer available but it was called Lily and the seller is here!
I've made this a few times and I've learned I get frustrated with most shawl patterns because it's very easy to somehow get the wrong stitch count but they always come out so nicely in the end!
So I was finally able to get more totes to organize and secure my yarn better and after going through all of it, I lost 5 totes out of 21 worth of yarn. All in all, not bad, but still upwards of $1000. Some people don't really understand why I was (still sorta am) upset about losing that yarn when I still have so much. I'm going to be moving into my own place this year and with my budget, I won't be able to buy yarn for the most part and I wanted a large enough stash so I didn't have to stop crocheting. Crocheting is a very ground hobby for me, I like the challenge of certain patterns and the monotony of ones I'm very familiar with. Being unable to crochet in these times would be terrible for my mental health as it's a reprieve from everything.
Going through all my yarn has also allowed me to pick out some skeins to donate so I'm not overly fond of them or I have no idea what to do with them.
Well, something very devastating happened to my yarn stash.
A little backstory! I had to move back in with my parents when my renting situation fell through. I'm currently working on buying a house, it's of course a long process but for the time being I'm in a cramped area and most of my belongings are in storage areas in my parent's attic and garage.
My grandparents also live with us and my grandmother had rearranged a lot of things in both storage areas including my yarn. She condensed it all down to relieve some totes to use for other things, unfortunately though she overstuffed the totes and they didn't seal properly so mice managed to get in.
I'm not upset at her, she wasn't doing anything maliciously, however of the two totes I looked through about $500 worth of yarn so far has been destroyed, not including several finished projects such as shawls, blankets and toys. There are still 4-5 totes to go through but I'm sure the cost is going to be upwards of several thousand dollars.
Because of the housing situation, I had been stocking up when I could because I knew with the cost of owning a home I wouldn't be able to purchase yarn like I would want to so that was going to be stash until I had a little more wiggle room with my money. I am crushed my yarn was destroyed but I still have quite a few boxes of it in my room that have not been harmed so I still have hope!
This is mostly just a lesson to all: Be careful how you store your yarn!
I work at a hotel and the renovators working on it are from waaaay warmer climates so my coworker and I have been scarves for them! These are all the ones I've made so far :)
Not one but two crimes in the same skein 😔
Hello all again! I took some time away from that huge mosaic project I've been designing (does anyone have pointers on how to made a pdf look nice?) and decided to work on something else!
This mosasaurus plushie was definitely interesting, the body was relatively self explanatory however it was meant to be a no-sew pattern. When it came to crocheting the fins into the body, the author anticipated some misalignment depending on yarn and tension however I attempted to align then two times (crocheting then frogging my work when I realized it was still off) so I decided it was easier for me to simply sew them in. Also, they weren't overly clear about where the eyes would go and when I realized it was actually quite important, I ended up waiting to put them in until I had done the first set of back bumps so I knew they were lined up correctly.
Other than that, I think this pattern is quite nice and fairly easy!
