SUPERLIST: What to bring to college
The moment you’ve all been waiting for. The moment I’ve been procrastinating forever. Here you go. The list of what to bring to college. Just a little something before I begin:
One of the most important things to remember is that you don’t need to bring your life to college. You have a limited amount of space that you’re probably sharing with another person. Keep it light, keep it neat. Your life now consists of dorms, classes, dining hall, and parties. You’re going to be seeing the same people every day and doing the same thing every day. Don’t let this list influence you to buy stuff that you’re not going to use, because the main thing here is saving money and downsizing. On the other hand, you’re going to be on your own for the first time and there are probably a lot of things you usually don’t have to think about (laundry supplies, dishes, extension cords, etc).
Anyways, enjoy the list, reblog the shit out of it, and HAVE AN AWESOME TIME SHOPPING.

What to do if you suddenly find yourself homeless
FOOD
Find your nearest food bank or mission, for food
grocery stores with free samples, bakeries + stores with day-old bread
different fast food outlets have cheaper food and will generally let you hang out for a while.
some dollar stores carry food like cans of beans or fruit
SHELTER
Sleeping at beaches during the day is a good way to avoid suspicion and harassment
sleep with your bag strapped to you, so someone can’t steal it
Some churches offer short term residence
Find your nearest homeless shelter
Look for places that are open to the public
A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry
HYGIENE
A membership to the YMCA is usually only 10$, which has a shower, and sometimes laundry machines and lockers.
Public libraries have bathrooms you can use
Dollar stores carry low-end soaps and deodorant etc.
Wet wipes are all purpose and a life saver
Local beaches, go for a quick swim
Some truck stops have showers you can pay for
Staying clean is the best way to prevent disease, and potentially get a job to get back on your feet
Pack 7 pairs of socks/undies, 2 outfits, and one hooded rain jacket
OTHER
first aid kit
sunscreen
a travel alarm clock or watch
mylar emergency blanket
a backpack is a must
downgrade your cellphone to a pay as you go with top-up cards
sleeping bag
travel kit of toothbrush, hair brush/comb, mirror
swiss army knife
can opener

August 3rd is Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask’s Birthday!
So how can you celebrate?
🌹 Rewatch or reread your favourite Tux-centric chapter, episode, or musical! As a key character from the very first episode, he features prominently throughout the series. Some highlights include episode 034, where he accepts a challenge from Zoisite and reveals both his past and his true identity to Sailor Moon; episode 053, where he and Usagi babysit a toddler together; episode 116, where he takes Chibi-Usa and Usagi on a family outing that ends in disaster; episode 132, where a friendship with one of his female peers sparks jealousy in a mutual friend; episode 136, where his apartment is closed for deep-cleaning and he is forced to stay at the Hikawa Shrine; or episode 165, where he is taken to the capital of his ancient kingdom, Elysion, to meet with the priest Helios. He is the impetus of the plot in Sailor Moon R: The Movie, and features in the quasi-parody Episode Zero short from the 2003 live action, The Secret of Tuxedo Mask’s Birth.
🌹 Tuxedo Mask has several official image songs across different canons you can play for his big day:
90s anime: Dakishimete Itai [“I Want To Embrace You”]; Toki wo Koete… [“Crossing Time…”]; YOU ARE JUST MY LOVE (duet with Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon); Crystal: Kimi no Hitomi no MOONRISE [”The Moonrise in Your Eyes”]; Eien Dake ga Futari wo Kakeru [”Only Eternity Can Link Us”]; Musicals: TUXEDO MISSION. Additionally, his 90s voice actor, Tohru Furuya, recorded the song EVERLASTING MY LOVE, which he has stated to be about the time-spanning love between Usagi and Tuxedo Mask, and is dedicated to all his supportive female fans.
Here’s a playlist of all these songs and other Tuxedo Mask BGM cues!
🌹 Mamoru’s favourite food is simply “chocolate,” so today is the perfect excuse to indulge. Try some rose-flavoured truffles, or mature dark chocolate to match his refined tastes. He is also consistently associated with coffee in the various official pop-up and permanent Sailor Moon cafes, possibly because of his sophisticated image, or possibly because he’s a grad student running on caffeine and spite. Why not combine the two with a brooding mocha?
🌹 As an egg-head, Mamoru’s hobbies are generally intellectual, enjoying reading, analysing poetry, and studying foreign languages, so consider patronising your local library.
As Earth’s guardian he also likes flowers and nature, particularly, to no one’s surprise, roses, so a stroll through your local botanical park or community garden would be perfect.
On his other extreme, he also has a taste for luxury cars and riding motor cycles. If renting a bike or dirt bike for a spin isn’t your thing, maybe you could visit the arcade for a virtual race instead.
And it should come as no shock that a man who elects to fight crime in a three-piece suit and tophat has a taste for the dramatic, so since Mamoru has volunteered for community theatre in the past, why not see a local performance? Maybe… Snow White?
🌹 Dress like Mamoru for the day, if you can stomach it! As a young man in the 90s with no one to help dress him, he had a hard time navigating through the pitfalls of late-20th century men’s fashion. Still, he favoured business-casual blazers over turtlenecks or T-shirts, and when dressing more comfortably opted for bold, layered colour-blocking or graphic prints. As the series went on, and in the manga or Crystal, he dressed more classically, opting for simple button-up shirts and slacks in warm or earth-tones, occasionally favouring a Chandler Bing vest. When brainwashed, all bets were off, so if you have anything cow-print today is absolutely the time to bust it out.
His most iconic outfits were definitely his eponymous tuxedo and his green blazer/black undershirt/grurple (grey-purple) slacks/saddle shoes - or you could dress head-to-toe in lavender, like his fit as future King of the World. He’s also frequently seen with an enormous pair of sunglasses.
🌹 Get brainwashed!!
🌹 Make a puppet version of yourself!
🌹 Reflect on some of the wisdom Tuxedo Mask has dropped in all of his flowery (pun intended) speeches over at @tuxedowisdom.
🌹 Go thrifting for some absolutely absurd and fairly hideous decor. He collects souvenirs, posters, and other decorations related to space and the solar system, as well as minerals and gemstones.
🌹 Fav and read some Tuxedo Mask fanart and fanfic on sites like Pixiv, Twitter, and AO3 - or contribute your own new content! Don’t forget to tag!
Feel free to reply and reblog with your own ideas of how you’re going to celebrate the walking meme that is Mamoru Chiba!
Happy Birthday, Mamo!

“Batman has more than one son,“ I say into the mic.
The crowd boos. I begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.
“She’s right,” I hear. I look around for the owner of the voice. There in the fifth row, he stands: Bruce Wayne himself.
“What does he know about Batman” the crowd replies and resumes booing. Bruce Wayne discreetly leaves the room. In an unrelated turn of events, a voice speaks from above. “She’s right,” I hear. There crashing through the skylight: Batman.
#i can’t believe bruce wayne missed his chance to meet batman
