i’m feeling like posting Lulani rn so:

[Some Order™️ associate knocks Lulani’s flat, intending to summon io for some random ass meeting ]

[Luka opens the door, and immediately wish he hadn’t open it]

Luka: ..Yes?

o.a: is Mr. Tori here? he is needed in the administration hall immediately.

Luka: By Jane ?

o.a: no, by the associates of the Order’s school affairs department .

Luka: he is sleeping.

o.a: well wake him up , he has duties that are needed to be attended to.How many times does he need to be reminded of his position as the moon phoenix to act responsib-

[the associate is shook from the audacity ]

[Io emerges from their bedroom, awakened by the commotion, rubbing his eyes and rocking the most adorable bedhead]

[Luka is visibly pissed off while io opened the door ]

[ The associate glares daggers at Luka then began explaining to io what brought them to him in the first place]

io: i’ll be there in a minute, just let me get ready.

[Evaughn finds Iolani in a secluded cold cave near a inner waterfall ]

Io: …you shouldn’t have found me

Eve: well, excuse us for wanting to know where you up and gone to.

io:..you should go back to the island,

[ Eve is disheartened to see Io like this. The determined ,hopeful and perspicacious friend he knew reduce to hopelessness and utter despair. Just like him once upon a time before he knew this light ; this light that illuminated his little dark corner that is his being and brought him needed company. And where Io succeeded in helping him escape , here he is standing utterly powerless against his friend's plight ]

THW PYRMID ORDER LITRALY BENEFITS NO ONE ??

-predators suffer with loneliness and lack of genuine connections. ( resulting from having to be competitive, territorial and 'strong"<emotionless>) Self hate too sometimes ( resulting from discrimination within the group)

-preys suffer from oppression and being dehumanized.(resulting from being used as slaves, pretty objects to gawk at, forbidding the access to a lot of things that predators are allowed to use )

-pests literally are regarded as nothing- just some disgusting creatures

it's literally benefits a small minority of predators who likes power, authority and being feared- and most of the predators are normal people who are forced to abide the societal system or they will be scrutinized, belittled and hell even beaten by their peers ( not my baby boy Luka tho he built diffrent)

gosh family reunions must be awkWARD-

on a serious note tho there's a lot of speculations that Vater might be Iolani's father( his name is LITRALLY father in german-). So I'd imagine there would be some angst with finding out that your flesh and blood is a murderer 😬 Oh! and also your one and truly's family murderer and the cause for his suffering!

But also i would imagine Luka being astronomically overprotective of io lmao, like holding Iolani and glaring daggers at Vater afsdfgdafd

ALSO also imagine Vater's reaction when finding out that your own son is a whole ass winged ( a HIGH ranked one too) that his whole career is built around killing them-

tbh i won't be surprised if he doesn't hesitate to hunt his own son

Okay so, the hunters? they're supposed to be the big bad for the third book cuz yk , they fuckn KILLED predators and their families (i.e. luka's family)

buuuut what if (if i learned anything from the second book and from cuppie's love for nuance in writing) just like how the predators have their justification for oppressing the prey ( the societal pyramid™ keeping things in "order") the hunters have their own agenda against winged folks;

like maybe predators in the past attacked non-winged and caused some kind of war or oppression ,

Or maybe the classic fear of the unknown caused humans to target predators so it's a case of 'get them before they get you',

Orr it's a case of envy of winged with their abilities to fly, having a spiritual animal and being picked specially by those spiritual animals instead of them(the non winged) [why them and not us?!]

Or (and this one is kinda morbid) the hunters are using predators as stock to provide for their families (Io's mom mentioning in the letter his dad coming back from a hunt and bringing back "meat" )

the third one is more apparent in the books tho ; like the hunters got Sylvain to use him as a source for immortality and they have a whole ass market for predators' hearts

maybe it's a mix of all four and the situation has deeper roots that goes back since the island was born (perhaps it was the reason it was born,

My prediction for book three ending would be :

As hunters surround the Hearts from all angles shrouding the land with their shadows, hunting every one of them violently

[Jerry shields Luci and Dmitri with his wings from hunter assaults while Luci protecting an injured Dmitri ]

[Abby & Aaqil fighting together against the hunters]

[An injured Shri trying to find any one of her classmates ]

[Meryl barely fighting off assaulters with her cassowary ]

[Odile and Odette screaming for each other to make sure the other’s alive]

[Evaughn panicking because he lost Luka and can’t find him and trying to get himself together so he can find a way out for his friends ]

[Luka heavily injured in the midst of the smoke ,on the ground as the dark™️is slowly taking him out , dreaming about watching the moon in a treehouse..]

And then in comes Io crashing the smog as Luna,shrieking as a warning , sending some of the hunters away with his landing. Splitting from Luna’s form, Iolani started looking for his friends while Luna shields him from the dark fog.

Using his link he reached out for them and told them to try to follow the light, they all said they couldn’t.

Io found Luka laying down on the ground in the deep abyss and wasted no time running to his side.

“Luka! Luka it’s me

i’m here.. i’m here now” he held his upper body under his left arm and cradled him on his thighs

weakly, Luka opened his eyes to seek out that voice he well adored and cherished “….Io..?”

“yes, yes i’m..” he couldn’t finish his reassurance, chocked up by the relief that his friend was alive.

He started to heal his wounds, all while saying soothing promises. Reaching up, Luka’s shaky hand found the moon phoenix’s face. He caressed it feeling the soft yet coarse  skin on his fingers, conforming that this is real , that this isn’t a hallucination that resulted from his blood loss

Taking a shaky breath, he began to smile widely at his companion, his vision started to go blurry but he didn’t care ; Io’s safe and sound and he’s with him now.

“you’re safe now

we’re gonna get out of here”

Iolani turned to Luna, who was warding off the smoke away from them, and told her to brighten herself for the others to find their way

“we’re all going to get out of here”

speaking about Pipa, i’ve been thinking about her lately and about her healing journey:

-Even tho her character in the story is not in line with it, i can imagine her joking about her immobility any given moment and making people (specifically predators) uncomfortable or go “ PIPA NOO”.

-What if Vaughn saved up his allowance to buy for her bionic prosthetics as a apology so she can walk again, imagining her running up to Io and host him up in a hug ( bc let’s be real, mostly using her arms while in a wheelchair built up some muscles + io’s a skinny legend) her threatening anyone who annoys her of tackling them to the ground, OR even using the bionic legs as a weapon to bonk on someones head!!!

- In the beginning of the story she was always timid and people pleasing-esk ( same girly) that now i like to imagine after her waking up from the Thief’s induced coma she takes no shit from ANY one (ESPECIALLY predators), she would talk back , be bluntly honest and not be afraid to show that she’s angry bc honestly fuck everyone.
