I made this comic book concept for my portfolio, to present my fan comics in a more professional manner (and for fun, bc I enjoy creating littol books 👉👈)

Since Hive fan comics are kinda like periodicals, I thought theming it as volume 1 would be appropriate

I analysed a bunch of manga/comic books and enjoyed the idea of dedicating a volume to a specific character

So this one has a heavy inclusion of my sona >:D

One summer mystery, four different accounts. Which one will you believe?

Moodboards for my WIP: BLAME MADDY

Concept: A romantasy that explores the realistic consequences of your love interest being 500 years old

So our protagonist comes from this lesser noble house, whose only claim to fame is being descended from this guy Prince Whatsisname like four centuries ago who was supposedly a demigod. Gives them magic powers or something. Then she runs into Immortal Shadow Daddy, big tall love interest man, and they have a bunch of sexual tension in the standard romantasy vein. Normal girl and her hot grumpy boyfriend, you know the deal

And then she starts asking after his personal history. He opens up about having loved once, many years ago, but he never imagined to meet another woman he could trust… until now…

He shows her the big collection of old stuff he used to own in his library, and then she comes across a shield or something with the crest of Prince Whatsisname and is like “Oh hey, it’s Prince Whatsisname’s crest, did you know him?”

And he’s like, “Haha, that old thing. I haven’t gone by that name in ages”

She does the math, and she throws up in her mouth a bit, and she’s like “…Hey maybe we shouldn’t date anymore”

And so the romance plot awkwardly ends and it turns into a regular fantasy book. Normal girl and her hot grumpy great-great-great-great-great-grandpa

Haunting the narrative - literally

A story is told from the perspective of a dead woman. She dies young, and the first scene is her funeral where she watches 3 people that are either antagonistic with each other or strangers realise they were all in love with her (she's oblivious. She did, and stil doesn't, know that she had a bunch of people fawning over her). She looks at them and thinks they are all too lonely and should become friends. She starts using her ghostly powers to push them togethee. The three fall in love with each other, and they never learn that she watched all the shenanigans they pulled while getting together. She really did not mean for them to become a polycule but in the end they're all happy so it's fine (she's aroace)

Charlotte and Alexander have known each other since the summer before 6th grade. Now in their 30s they couldn’t be further apart. He’s a famous rockstar of a cellist, following his dreams of working in music. She’s a struggling filmmaker taking any job she can find while trying to follow her dreams of creativity. Together they used to play in orchestra classes with their group of friends and enjoy days at their old stomping grounds of a fine arts school. Until one day when a key member of their respective groups passed.

With the passing of Andrew so went the spark of music for Charlie. Slowly she began to withdraw from the program before switching her focus to photography and film. Quitting orchestra, she withdrew from their old group and has been trying to find her way while dealing with the devastating loss ever since.

Alex dealt with the passing of his best friend as best he could. Andrew had been the leader of the groups when the girls and guys had combined; the heartthrob, the gifted musician, the boy who never had to practice and could play any instrument his fingers touched. Alex on the other hand had to work hard to keep his place. For hours he practiced to be the best and came out on top of his section. If anything, the loss of his friend renewed his passion to get things right.

Fallout had happened between the guys and the girls a few times with Charlie as the main leader of the girls. The loss of her male counterpart hit hard, especially in her heart where she held a years long crush on the boy. Andrew was not perfect as he seemed to teachers. He could be mean and cruel to Charlie and his loss added trauma with a last fight hanging over them. It had been small and stupid but words were left unsaid. Feelings never returned.

Still in touch with their friends from adolescence a new blow is dealt when they find out a friend from the group has cancer. It has progressed so far and so aggressively that no treatments will work. Alex takes some time off to return to his roots and see his friend before the end which causes him to run into Charlie who has also stayed in touch enough to know what is going on.

They develop a careful friendship trying to balance unsaid things from the past with their new reality. Can the two get over another loss when still reeling from the first? Can they finally find a way to fully move on?

Eternity- Amirs conundrum

Amir lay in a bed, completely exposed. His master had left him there when the guards needed his attention. He was waiting for him to come back. Amir knew as soon as he did that he would be hurt again, but it would be better than this limbo.

So many times over the past two weeks he had been left in a room or a cell to wait for Sneherr to come back, and he hated it. He just wanted to get the pain over with, to feel the sharp bite of punishment that his master had in store for him. He preferred this to the dull ache he was left with in those lonely hours. But of course that wasn’t his choice. His master could do as he pleased, and he would be where he left him. Sneherr had made sure of that.

Amir would have gladly gotten up and walked away if his feet had let him. His master had labeled him as a runaway, and treated him as such, leaving him unable to walk. Now he could barely move without his muscles screaming out in pain, so he stayed where he was. It wasn’t like he had anywhere to go. The room he was in centered in Sneherr’s fortress, and surrounded by guards. Usually he could hear their chatter and the jostling of their uniforms as they walked around.

He blinked, realizing that he hadn’t heard them since they had come to get his master. Usually if it was an emergency his master would get the royal guard, and the rest would be left to defend the castle. But now he couldn’t hear any of them, which meant this was not just an emergency. Whatever the guards were dealing with was way bigger than any threats Amir had seen before, and he was stuck on a bed. Unable to move, or leave, or run. He just had to sit and wait for whatever the danger was to come to him, like a duckling trapped in the reeds.

He started to listen closer to try and assess the situation, and he realized he could hear cries from the guards. They were far off and faint, but it sounded like a battle. Were they getting raided again? Did his master forget to pay off their debts? If Sneherr forgot to pay off his debts then why wasn’t the raid heading to the treasury? It was clearly getting closer now, the shouts from Sneherrs guards being drowned out by the cadence of a language Amir didn’t know. They would be nearing the room he was in soon. He hoped whatever they did to him, it was quick.

This is my first proper story, so please let me know if I need to add any warnings or tags. Also, I'm hoping to turn this into a book one day so any criticism is welcome!

I'm writing a new book, Called Idolize You, and I have a book cover concept I'm proud of it but also iffy about it maybe it's too basic? Maybe it's perfectly fine! I don't know if I should add onto it or redo it completely?? Or leave it as is.
