FAQ
Lonnie Machin Week is a fandom event celebrating the DC character Lonnie Machin. Fans are invited to create and share works inspired by daily prompts throughout the week.
When does the event run?
Lonnie Machin Week will take place from November 2nd to November 8th, 2026.
Where can I find the prompts?
The prompts will be posted on this blog. Each year, participants submit prompt ideas a few months before the event. Once submissions close, we hold a public poll, and the highest-voted prompts become the official prompts for the week.
How do I participate?
All you have to do is create a fanwork inspired by one of the prompts and post it on your platform of choice. Be sure to tag this blog (@lonnie-machin-week) and use #lonnie machin week or #lonnie machin week 2026 tags so we can find your work and reblog it here!
What kinds of fanworks are allowed?
Anything! Fanfiction, fanart, playlists, edits, moodboards, meta, poetry, graphics, cosplay, zines, and more centered around Lonnie Machin. Ships, ensembles, and crossovers are welcome, as long as Lonnie remains the central focus of the work.
Are there restrictions on ships or topics?
No. All ships and topics are allowed, including darker subject matter, as long as Lonnie is the focus. Please tag sensitive content appropriately and use a Read More cut (or link to an external site) when necessary so everyone can enjoy the event comfortably. Using "Choose Not to Warn" is perfectly acceptable as long as potentially sensitive content is hidden behind a cut or link.
How closely do I need to follow the prompts?
As closely or as loosely as you'd like. The prompts are there to inspire, not to limit you. If your work is inspired by a prompt, even if the connection only makes sense to you, it counts.
I donât like a certain dayâs prompt. Can I still participate?
Absolutely. Feel free to swap prompts between days, reuse a favorite prompt more than once, or choose something from the bonus prompts list.
Do I have to post something every day?
Not at all. This is a low-pressure event. Join in for one day, several days, or the entire week, whatever works best for you.
What if I miss the event dates?
No worries! Late submissions are always welcome. Just tag @lonnie-machin-week, and weâll happily reblog your work after the event has ended. The AO3 collection will also remain open indefinitely.
Anything else I should keep in mind?
Please treat fellow participants with respect. And most importantly, have fun!

Hello! Yes, itâll be the same week as last year, Monday to Sunday, 2nd-8th November this year. The exact details will be announced in early August. Happy to see people are interested!

Lonnie Machin Week Bonus Round: Ideas that didnât make the cut
Prompt: Role-Swap
Reason For Rejection: No Plot :(
Reverse Robins Lonnie. Just like, Damianâs the oldest and he and Bruce had a really regular long term partnership before he gracefully graduated to Nightwing(put it off for ages, whined about it the whole time) and then Bruce gets Blitzed by the Tim Steph Tim Lonnie Tim situation.
Tim being there three times between everyone else is on purpose. Thatâs how that worked. Heâs already canonically the Robin before and after Steph. Letâs make it worse! He was introduced before Lonnie but Lonnie put a costume on first. FIGHT!
Weâre not doing War Games, because fuck war games. So like, Timâs Robin, Lonnieâs Anarky, Stephâs Batgirl. Then Stephâs Robin and Lonnieâs Moneyspider. Timâs Robin again because Steph is Spoiler now, and then Lonnieâs Robin for a couple weeks, mayhaps not Bruce approved, and then heâs back to Anarky and Timâs Robin and not only is the Gotham populace confused as hell. Steph and Lonnie, two people who literally never agree on anything, have decided to bully Tim for still being Robin after they Graduated. neener neener. Running joke that Timâs going to be Robin again if you donât keep an eye on him.(itâs funny bc heâs Robin again right now)
Tim is also still bisexual during the Reverse Robin II audition battle royale so like, his situation. Theyâre bullying him and heâs blushing and feeling sorta squirmy and he Hates This. God.
Lonnie Machin Week Bonus Round: Ideas that didnât make the cut
Prompt: Political Assassination
Reason for Rejection: Havenât read Knightfall
âHe was supposed to be the third Robinâ is like, a neat story but I straight up donât think heâd Function in that role. Especially considering what Tim Robinâs actual Robin Tenure was like. Knightfall puts Jean-Paul Valley Batman and Lonnie Robin on a team together and they go Nuclear, somehow kickstart NML 6 years early. Remember JPV!Bats grabbing Lonnie by the face and telling him that he was going to crush his head like an egg? Heâs canonically at Most 14 at the time.
If Robin!Lonnie made it to Knightfall(unlikely) he would cut the arc off at the knees and straight up murder JPV before Bruce even made it back from getting his spine faith healed. Lonnie tases JPV Batman so bad that he accidentally nips the majority of the Knightquest bullshit in the bud. That wing of Wayne Manor never burns down.
Lonnieâs Knightfall appearance was Already about Lonnie coming to the conclusion that Batman as a symbol was only increasing and encouraging crime in Gotham. Letâs see him take direct action. If JPV was being scary and bricking up batcave entrances I think Lonnie would just switch mantles and try to kill him on patrol.
Also, shift the timeline a little so JPV Bats has done a murder and imagine Anarky Lonnie from Shadow of the Bat 18 successfully Tazing JPV Bats into a coma bc he decided that Batman was detrimental to Gotham and when he wakes up from the Fear Gas antidote Tim Robin is there like, hey, thanks for that btw, our replacement Batman was going off the rails and we didnât really know how to deal with it. And Lonnie, who Did Not Know this Batman was secretly blond and Catholic is like:
Lonnie Machin Week Bonus Round: Ideas that didnât make the cut
Prompt: Identity-Trapped Together
Reason for Rejection: Too Many Thoughts About TimSteph
Trapped together Timlonnie I had no plans for you but much more positive feelings. Many such cases.
Tim POV Identity Porn, making out with Anarky and telling himself heâs got to stop dating people as Robin. First Steph and now Lonnie? They both faked their deaths? God but they hate each other.
Tim thinking about how maybe it'll work out ok. He and Steph actually have a profound bond now, but he's pretty sure that can be better attributed to the weeks he spent putting on dark sunglasses and going to Lamaze class with her than any of the half dozen awkward teenage kisses they shared.
This is worse because Bruce being a shithead and how own insecurities was the reason he didn't tell Steph. Not his Boyfriend telling him to his face that he'll be on the chopping block when the revolution comes.
Lonnie Machin Week Day 7: [I didn't follow a prompt]
I've discussed with a trusted adviser whether or not Big Stompy Boots would fix Lonnie, and the conclusion we came to was no, probably not, but he does deserve them.

You know when a friend comes out, but not to you, and it turns into a Who's on First sketch?
âDamn,â Cissie says, and gives into the exhaustion dragging her head and shoulders down toward the tabletop. âThis is going to cause problems for Arson.â She mumbles into her arms. âWho?â Robin asks from his place at the computer, his ridiculous typing speed slowing just enough that she knows heâs paying attention.

A series of fics that I wrote for Lonnie Machin Week 2025 on Tumblr.
My entry for @lonnie-machin-week day 7.
Chosen prompt: Yap the Dog.
The prisoner transport thundered down the rain soaked streets of Gotham. Its advance was as steady and confident as a lion stalking the serengeti. The metallic beast seemingly daring anyone to challenge it. A right turn was taken decidedly more sharply than necessary, sending its unwilling occupants hurling violently across the holding area, crashing into the floor, walls and in some instances each other.
âWhew, you sentâem flying that time partner.â said one of the armed guards in the front compartment with a wide grin.
âOh that?â the driver asked, dripping with faux innocence âThat was just the road being slippery, thatâs all.â
The two broke out in laughter until the passenger looked at the road ahead and shouted âClint look out!â his voice now full of panic.
On instinct, the driver slammed down on the brake, once again sending the prisoners crashing into each other as the van came to a screeching halt.
âWhat? What is it?â the driver asked frantically looking around.
âYou almost hit that dog dude.â his partner replied pointing out into the street. Sure enough, there was a medium sized dog with dirty white fur and a large black patch over one eye. The dog stared at the van for a bit before barking and lunging at it, as if he thought he could scare it away.
âWhere the hellâd he come from?â the driver asked.
âNot sureâ the passenger replied âiâll get out andâŠâ he was cut off by a loud metallic thud that reverberated throughout the van.Â
âDa fuck was that?â The driver, Clint, was getting agitated now.
â Also not sure.â His partner admitted before turning to open the door âIâll check it out while IâŠâ he was cut off again, this time by a pair of arms reaching down and dragging him up onto the roof.
âBill!â the driver cried out. Above his head the sound of rustling could be heard culminating in another thud, far louder than the first causing a vibration that he could fell though the steering wheel. Cursing under his breath the driver exited the van and looked up at the roof where Bill was lying unconscious. He barely had anytime to register what he was seeing when he heard a sound coming from the back of the van.
He began heading back there to investigate when that damn mutt started barking all over again. âShut up!â he hissed at the flea bitten thing before making his way around the back. Peeking around the corner, he saw a figure dressed in red wearing a gold mask appearing to be trying to pick the lock on the vanâs barn doors.
Emerging from his vantage point, he aimed his gun at the perp and yelled âFreezeâ in as loud and commanding a voice as he could manage. âHand in the air.â
The figure turned his head just enough to look at him. âCanât very well raise my hands if iâm frozen now can i?â he asked flatly.
âHands up smartass!â
With a dramatic sigh, the figure did as he was told.
âNow step back from the van.âÂ
The first two steps were normal but then the fucker actually started moonwalking. Clint stared in disbelief for a moment before shaking it off âAlright, knock it off.â
âHey i backed away from the van, just like you wanted.â red said âI swear, thereâs no pleasing you people.â
âNo talking unless i ask you a question.â Clint barked âNow torn towards me.â
The perp turned slowly revealing a giant golden A inside a golden circle. After staring at it for a few seconds, realization downed over Clint. âHey I know you, youâre that Anarky freak.â
âYouâve heard of me?â Anarky sounded pleasantly surprised :Then you know how much you mustâve fucked up for me to be here.â
âAll iâve done is my job.â Clint replied through clenched teeth.
âOh sure, just following orders.â Anarky said dismissively âDonât waste your breath. If it wouldnât have worked at Nuremberg it wonât work here.â
âOh here we go with the nazi shit.â Clint rolled his eyes exasperatedly âThis people donât belong here!â
âSays you.â Anarky was starting to get mad, he could tell âFrom where i stand theyâve earned the right to be here more than a troglodyte like you ever could.â
âWell from where i stand you might want to be careful of what you say to the guy with the gun.â
âOh rightâ Anarky said as if he were just now noticing âabout that.â
Phweeeee!!!
Barking again filled the air, louder and with an anger that wasnât present before. Before Clint could react, something furry crashed into him with such force as to knock him on his ass. Jaws lunged at him and he was just able to get his arm up to prevent a chunk of his face from being bitten off. Everything was happening so quickly it took him a few seconds to register that it was that mutt from earlier.
As he was trying to hold back the snarling beast, Clint noticed that Anarky had gotten back to work on opening the vanâs barn doors. He struggled with it for what could have been seconds or hours from CLintâs perspective but eventually he got the doors open and began helping the rounded up migrants out of the cargo area and directing them down some alley.
Once they were all gone, he turned to Clint who was still struggling against this damned dog.âYap, leave it.â he called out.
As soon as the attack began it was over and the dog who seemed nearly feral just seconds prior ran over to his apparent owner who greeted him with quiet but loving head scratches. Anarky then grabbed a walking stick of some sort and approached Clint who was trying to get his bearings.
âDo me a favor would you?â Anarky asked, now standing over Clint âWhen your superiors ask what happened, give them a message for meâ he raised the staff over his head âICE has no place in Gotham City!â

Lonnie Machin Week Day 6: Disabled Lonnie
1.2k. T Rating, Ableism, Torture, Neglect, Ulysses H. Armstrong&Lonnie Machin
You know, The General kept Lonnie in that coma for a while, and he probably didn't treat him that well.
The worst part, in a long line of worst parts, was that all this wasnât about him. Ulysses manipulated him, shot him, poisoned him, imprisoned him in his own body, made him completely dependent on him, and it was all a mere byproduct of his vendetta against Robin. The thing was, that Lonnie knows Robin. He met Robin when he was 13 years old. Robin saved his life, and was nicer to him afterwards than Lonnie expected, even as he arrested him.
