There’s no point in reading the terrorist that is Dylan Roof’s manifesto. We don’t need to get into his fucking head. He prayed for an hour in what was supposed to be the most significant and safest space for a lot of black people, a church, and then he murdered them. Black people aren’t even safe in their own spaces. You don’t need to read his manifesto to know that he’s a racist ass terrorist. A monster.

I find that people are fascinated with racists and how they could do such a thing, but never care about the victims. The History Channel is literally dedicated to Hitler and the Nazis, documentary after documentary, but never about the victims. Stop humanizing these people. They do not deserve their humanity.

How am I ever gonna date someone who’s a part of such a problematic group. The police force has crowned itself king of racial stereotyping, and I can speak from experience and say that the West Point boys are racist and sexist.

John might be a policeman and he might not stereotype me, but his colleagues might. His boss might. His entire institution does.

Why does it matter? John is around those people a lot. It’s like dating someone with a family entirely in the KKK, but they’re not. It’s worse, though. John can’t choose his family. But he can choose his job.

Men in uniform basically call to my uterus, but…there are problems that come along that I don’t want in my life.

Oh Iggy. There is indeed a difference between following the path of who you truly are and following the path of a self-fulfilling prophecy. What you seem to not understand, is that you are, in very minute ways, embodying the Black woman's stereotype. HOWEVER, the ONLY difference between a black woman fulfilling the socially embedded stereotype and you fulfilling the Black woman's stereotype is that you, my dear Iggy, do not face the harsh consequences that the Black woman has to face if she acts upon any of the stereotypes placed before her. You, my dear, are seen as an "innovator". I am not bashing you for showing the world how you have been influenced by BLACK CULTURE, I am only here to help you realize that your so called "rap accent" is not appropriate. Is your "rap accent" the only significant ode to Black Culture that you can come up with? Strip the jewelry, the clothing, the "accent", and the instruments and what's left? Show your influence through your music and use YOUR culture as a stepping stone for your music, not the other way around. Black Culture has been stepped on and used by many like you. Show your influence by using your own culture as your blueprint and filling in the details with the aspects of Black Culture that has influenced you.
