Ok! Now that Iâve finished mass-following all the active people that were on this blogâs follow list...Well, Iâll see you around on the new @looking-through-time
I said Iâd hopefully be back and lied. Oops.
But Iâm also wondering if this would be the right opportunity toâŚre-do my blog. Yet again. I mean changing the theme to something different isnât too much of a problem, but while Iâve been on my other blog I realized that my About page is incredibly mobile-UNfriendly.Â
My solution to that was to have the About the way it is, but to also have an About specifically for mobile users in which all the headcanons are linked to individual posts.
With Gumshoe I can still fix that pretty easily, because there arenât so many headcanons written up yet and I can just slowly re-post the ones that came from disorganized memes, but in Lookerâs case Iâd probably just end up either flooding the dash or spending months trying to re-do this.
I mean, I just went and counted my tabs. There are 27 Relationship profiles, 34 PokĂŠmon profiles, and 84 Info/History/Headcanon tabs. Thatâs 145 tabs. And out of those 145 tabs, only 20 have posts I can link back to.
So imagine me spamming the dashâ over several months or over a single nightâ with 125 posts with headcanons or profiles or what have you.
âŚYeah.
So Iâll probably end up archiving this blog and remaking Belâs blog for theâŚthird time, making it the fourth instance. I wasnât very consistent with tags either so instead of fixing 2k+ postsâ worth of tags thisâll probably work out better.
Until then, I can still be found on @runniingonfaith for those of you who wanna throw your muses at me.
(rebloggin for later crowd. already slowly working on the new blog)

iâve been well thank!! how bout you? owo
Past week has been mostly mood swings and lack of energy but otherwise Iâm fine XD
Iâd like to apologize to you and to everyone else reading this about the spontaneous and unannounced hiatus. Itâs not so much that I lost my muse for Looker as that I just kinda got swallowed up by the Ace Attorney fandom faster than Sonic can run, so Iâve been mostly hanging out over there as Detective Gumshoe instead. Oops?
I wanna say Iâll come back, but I know that Gumshoe is still the stronger muse of the two right now and Iâm shit at juggling multiple blogs. Iâll TRY and be around on Looker again starting monday probably, but otherwise anyone whoâs interested can also find me and the adult cinnamon roll on @runniingonfaith :âD
Itâs nice to see some familar faces again tho
*hugs all*

@ask-the-eyes-of-the-beholder | -- |Â @theagentlooker
â...And thatâs where it leaves us,â the agent sighed. He quickly glanced at Brienne and David before giving William and the little girl settled on his lap a sad and shameful look. âI...Kalea means about as much to you as she does me. Iâll probably get her to visit and stuff, but I couldnât-- it felt wrong to just up and return her to her parents without telling you about it first.â He stared down at his own lap. â...Iâm sorry, Lia,â he whispered hoarsely.
âHawkie? Hawk whatâs wrong?â Sheâd looked up just in time to see Lookerâs face go dead white and tears spring into the corners of his eyes.Â
David woke up in her arms, and reached out to Looker. There was a whine from the back room that probably meant Kalea had woken up and was very upset.Â
Brienne stood up and rushed to get Looker steady. âHawkie, breathe. Breathe for me, okay? Thatâs all I want you to do right now. In, and out.â She had to be the steady rock here until Looker calmed down, otherwise the whole place would be nothing but a bunch of panicked kids and adults.
âI-- I-- I--â
He frantically ran his hands through his hair, tugging as he tried to breathe. His chest hurt, his throat felt clogged, he couldnât breathe, he needed Rory, he--
âKal--â he choked out. No good, he couldnât explain--
âDaddy!!â
He could hear child steps darting across the room and heading straight for him until something thudded against his leg. âDaddy!â Kalea called urgently, tugging on his pants. âUppy! Pick me up!â He managed to lean down and oblige, but the second he had her up and secure in his arms the strained breathing morphed into plain sobbing.
âIâm s-s-sorry,â he blurted, âI-I-Iâm--â
âNo, no, no-- no sad, Daddy,â Kalea argued, trying to reach his hair before giving up and adamantly patting his face. âNo sad. No sorry. Itâs okay.â
âK-Kalea--â
âShh, shh, itâs okay,â she continued stubbornly. âYour face is wet. Iâll kissy the wet away.â And she tried. After having pat his face and smearing tears everywhere she made an earnest effort to kiss every single inch of his face that she could reach, pecking his cheeks and his jawline and his nose and the corner of his eyes until the agentâs sobbing got mixed with hiccoughs and giggles.
âAllllll better!â Kalea declared proudly, deciding as a finishing touch to thrust herself at her fatherâs neck and giving him the biggest hug she could muster.
The agent snorted ungracefully and giggled some more, burying his eyes as best as he could in Kaleaâs shoulder. â...Thank you...â
She smiled softly and shook her head. âThank you, butâŚI wandered in here on my own, I suppose I will wander back eventually.â She knew she occasionally crossed back over to her timeline, more often than not, because there was never a playpen in the Bureau when she went, nor was Looker there nearly as much. It made for a lonelier timeline, she supposed, but it was hers, and she made do.
David, with Lookerâs hand on his head, had pushed into the touch like a pleased, lazy cat, a smile on his small face. Seems somebody had inherited his fatherâs love of head pats. She put her hand on top of Lookers and rubbed little circles into the back of it. If David was to eventually be hers, she counted herself blessed.Â
She hadnât wanted children, not normally. But, if it happened, it happened, and she must have been in a good place for it. David was beautiful, and heâd already stolen a place in her heart.Â
âHow goes it?â
He frowned. âWell, I havenât seen anything yet. I mightâve wandered too far...â
He pressed his lips and mentally scrolled back to where he started, using Brienneâs real timeline at a beginning point. Davidâs timeline couldnât be too-- Oh! Oh, okay, he hadnât noticed it before because it was mixed in with Brienneâs. Huh. So David was from her future? There was something--
--he was about to think âfunnyâ, but then he noted something strange. He was sensing another aura out of this time, somewhere in the building, one that didnât share the same signature as his PokĂŠmon or himself. It...matched Davidâs.Â
Kalea.
He pulled his hand off Davidâs head, pulling his mind out of Time and staring at the child. Siblings. David and Kalea were siblings of the same time. His children. His eyes welled up. This whole time, Kalea was his blood, his actual daughter.
...Daughter that had been with him for the past two years. Sheâd vanished from her own timeline two years ago, and her parents-- Brienneâs future self and his alternate self-- had been without Kalea for two whole years. And now David was gone too, they had to be worried sick, and if he knew himself well enough, if his alternate was the same as him, he was probably broken at the thought of his children being gone--
He had-- He had to hurry and give the kids back. He had to give Kalea back. He had to give Kalea back.
He staggered back.
Fine then. I'm going to tell Cynthia that you're picking on me. I have connections, man. A man of the law is being mean to me.
âWell I have connections too, and you were picking on me first!â
-huffs- I don't think Cynthia would approve of you calling people names. I'm not a meanie. Teasing someone lightly isn't being mean. >:T
âMEANIE MEANIE MEANIE MEANIE MEANIE MEANIE MEANIEMEANIEMEANIEMEANIEMEANIE--â
......Bud, I meant she is attractive. You have the, perhaps, misfortune of having a codename that also doubles as a word for handsome, beauty, etc. Ah, but it seems to me you agree with that red face of yours~ How cute<3
âH-Hey! Cynthia is not only atta-- attractive! She is also kind, and powerful, and inspiring, and-- and--â
â--and not a meanie like you.â
David had snuggled in against her chest, and was mumbling grumpily about not needing a nap. She smiled and hummed and kept rubbing his back and and head without disturbing him. A sleeping child would make the next conversation easier.
David had called Looker âDaddy.âÂ
Something was up.
âHawkâŚwe need to find where and when heâs from,â Brienne said softly. âHeâsâŚâ she stumbled on the next work. âOurs, but notâŚthis timeline? Or at least, not mine, not yet. And he called you dad. Oh, wow,â she whispered, at the very end, pressing a kiss to the top of Davidâs head.Â
ââŚIf nothing else, our genes make a cute kid,â she grinned. âLookit him. Heâll be a heart breaker the second he hits puberty.â
âBrienne, if our child breaks anybodyâs heart I will make it my personal mission to whack him across the head until heâs more responsible about other peopleâs feelings,â he scowled.
He ran a hand through his hair with a sigh before carefully placing it on Davidâs head. âAlright, Iâm gonna try and read which timeline heâs from, so that maybe we can hand him back. Iâll, um...be blind for a little bit, so make sure you keep touching me or talking to me or something. I need to know I didnât accidentally time-jump.â
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath for a moment before opening them again.
He couldnât see Brienne or David anymore. Not clearly, anyway. They looked more like tiny specks of aura, more in his mind than in his eyes, floating over the threads of time that spread out like vines, twisting, looping, tangling, splitting apart and joining again later, all across an infinite space.
He chuckled when he noticed one of the vines shining just a tiny bit brighter than the others, pulsing in harmony with one of the auras. âLooks like I accidentally found your timeline, Brienne.â He stared at the thread a little longer, trying to keep the imprint of it in his mind for later reference before continuing his search for Davidâs. âIf you ever want out of the Crossroads, let me know and Iâll send you back.â
âThank you,â Brienne sighed in relief. A child was a whole new thing.Â
âI wanna go home,â David whined softly. âWanna play with Daddy anâ Rory.â
âYou sure, love? Kinda sounds like you need a nap,â she replied, rubbing Davidâs back with one hand. She recognized that tone of voice from herself. Maybe he really was hers. Somehow.
âWanna play!â David whined again. His body was betraying him, however, as the more Brienne rubbed his back, the more he leaned on her. âDaaadddyyyyyâŚâ He tried making an appeal to Looker. âPlay.â
...Something wasnât right.
He fact that the kid had mentioned Rory could have been a coincidence. Could have. Right up until David had specifically tried reaching out to him when talking about his âdaddyâ. Daddy was him.
He put a hand up to his chin to think, slowly gnawing on the joint of his index and pacing.
This was their child, in one way or another. But he definitely didnât recall doing anything with any Brienne, and this Brienne didnât seem to recognize the child as her own either. Maybe another set of themselves were wandering around the Crossroads? Did the child get lost somehow and the stranger had given David to Brienne thinking it was the same one? No, how would the stranger have known who to look for, anyway? Maybe he could try the--
Hello, sir. Would you like another child?
â...I already have three daughter. I doubt I need another child.â

How's about that Cynthia, ey? Even more of a looker than you. ;)
âWHAT? NO, NO, SHE CANNOT DO THAT, âLOOKERâ IS MY CODENAME! SHE CANNOT SIMPLY GO AND STEAL THE CODENAMES OF OTHERS, I MUST SPEAK WITH HER ABOUT THIS!!â
....
â...e-eventually, that is...â
