He’s walking proudly through the halls in a well fitting tee - maybe with his military branch emblem - a pair of joggers, tennies, and a backwards hat. He’s using his other arm to carry both your overnight bags. You get outside and he goes to pull the car around, beaming that he got the carrier in on the first try.

“I’ve got it from here, thank you guys for everything,” Jack says to the nurse. He helps you into the car, going as far as leaning over to buckle you in. Before he closes the door he gives you a soft kiss on the crown of your head. “You okay baby? Comfortable?” You smile and nod your head. He pats your thigh gently and closes the passenger door. The whole ride home he can’t stop smiling, holding your hand in your lap and squeezing it with excitement. “So proud of you, honey. So in awe of you,” he whispers sweetly. Damn that six week rule.
