“Y/N! Nate’s finally here!” You looked out the window of the bus and saw your brother standing there with Noah and you were almost giddy. Your two favorite people in the world, finally together with you for the 2 month long tour.
You flung the door open and hopped into Nate’s outstretched arms. “There she is.” He said as he swung you around. He set you down as Noah walked closer, his arm surrounding your waist. You leaned into him as you smiled at your brother.
“I’m so happy that you’re finally here. It’s been so long since I got to see you.”
“I mean, you could have seen me sooner if you weren’t with this guy all the time!” He told you pointing to Noah as he laughed.
“We’re inseparable, Nate. We can’t stand to be away from each other.” Noah told your brother, while looking at you. You smiled at each other before returning your gaze to Nate.
“Believe me I know. I couldn’t get her come out to Vegas for one show if you weren’t with her!” He joked.
“That’s not true. We had Vanessa’s wedding that weekend.” Noah pulled you closer and kissed the side of your head.
“I know, sis. I was just messing.” We walked to the venue and I couldn’t help the smile that was plastered on my face. This was going to an amazing two months.
“Why didn’t you ever tell me about, Eric, Y/N!!??” Noah yelled as we walked on the bus.
“There was never anything to tell!” Eric is the drummer in Nate’s band and somehow it got back to Noah that Eric may or may not have a thing for you, and you may have dated for a minute. It was Brad, the guitarist, that told Noah about Eric. You could have killed him. There was never anything between you, just one date when you found you have never been remotely interested, especially after you met Noah.
“That’s not what Brad insinuated to me! I would have never asked them to be on this tour had I known your ex was their drummer!” You rolled your eyes as you slammed the bus door.
“Oh my gosh, he’s not my ex, Noah. We went on one date, we were never together. I never had any feelings for him. I want you!” Neither of you had uttered the word “L” word yet, but you did love him, so fucking much. You were just scared to tell him.

“Of course I am. I just got a little distracted is all.” You tried joking with him with a sweet smile, but by the look on his face, he was not amused. “Noah. I can’t help other people’s feelings.” He tried walking past you, but you stepped in his way, stopping him. “There is nothing there. It’s only you.” He eyed you closely before his hand crept up and rested on your cheek.
“I have to go. We’re on soon. We’ll talk later, yeah? I need to think about things.” You nodded and eagerly accepted the kiss he gently placed on your lips. You watched as he walked out of the bus and hoped Brad hadn’t ruined the best thing to ever happen to you.
You decided not to go watch the show tonight. Noah hadn’t asked you to be there like he normally does and you didn’t want to distract him from his job. You waited until you knew he was on stage before you made your way into the greenroom to eat the food Jolly told you was waiting. You could hear his voice through the speakers and you sighed, wishing you hadn’t had that fight with him. You loved watching him on stage. It was one of your favorite things to see.
You sat down and started eating, when Eric walked in the room. You didn’t say anything as he grabbed some food and sat across from you. He didn’t have a choice, there was nowhere else to sit. You mentally told yourself that you needed to be away from him before Noah walked off stage. You heard the start to “Dethrone” and knew your time was limited.
“You didn’t watch him tonight. You always do. Anything happen?” You eyed him closely and nodded your head.
“Brad told Noah that you have some kind of thing for me and made it seem like we had a thing. Know anything about that?” He sat back, finishing his bite before answering you.
“Nate and Brad have known for a long time how I feel about you. Not my fault that Brad decided to tell Noah. Maybe Brad thinks that you feel something for me.”
You stood up and threw your trash away. You could hear the song almost done and knew this conversation wouldn’t be.
“I have no feelings for you, Eric. I never have. You know that. I’m with Noah and I would appreciate if you guys would stop trying to ruin it.” You turned to leave as the song ended but Eric stopped you.
“You expect me to believe that there’s nothing there at all? I’ve known you half your life, we have history. You’ve only known him for what? A year?” You could hear Noah say the goodnight and knew he’d be here soon.
“Yeah, but I feel like I’ve known him my whole life.”
“You can’t be serious, Y/N! The guys a joke. He’ll never know you like I do.” He stepped closer as you tried to get away from him. “I love you.” He admitted and you pushed him away. You didn’t notice the figure standing in the door way as you pushed him again.

You need to understand that.” You heard a throat clear and looked to the door and there stood Noah, looking between the two of you. You couldn’t help but wonder if he heard your admission. You didn’t want him to overhear it. You wanted to tell him privately. In your on way, in your own time.
“Is there an issue here?” He asked, more to you than Eric.
“Nah, man. We were just talking. Catching up, you know. It’s been a while.” Eric looked at you again before turning and walking out. Now you get to deal with the fall out.
“How was the show?” You asked him and he shook his head, completely dismissing your question.
“I’m going to take a shower. I’ll meet you at the hotel. We need to talk.” With that, he turned and walked out.
You sat on the foot of the bed for a long time waiting for Noah to show up. You were nervous. You didn’t know what was going through his head and you were worried that he wanted to end it. The look in his eyes when you saw him after the show was cold and he’s never looked at you that way. You cried the whole way back here and now the wait was killing you. You took a hot shower, putting on one of Noah’s shirts, needing his smell around you. You even packed your bags in case he told you to leave. You left a change of clothes out just in case.
Your heart rate picked up as you heard the door open and close, his steps getting closer to you. You looked up him as his steps slowed. He grabbed the desk chair and wheeled it in front of you before sitting in it.
It was so hard to look at him. You felt the tears gather in your eyes and you tried your hardest to push them away.
“You didn’t come to the show.” He started.
“I didn’t think you’d want me there after everything.” You told him looking at your hands.
You heard him move closer and saw his hands reach for yours. You still couldn’t look at him, because if you did, the tears would definitely start to fall.
“Y/N. Can you look at me, please?” You took a deep breath and looked at him. You saw the look of concern of his face when he saw your eyes. “I wanted you there. I always want you there. I love looking over and seeing you watching.” He smiled thinking about it as he pulled you up and into his lap.
You went willingly. You slipped an arm around his neck as you sat sideways on him. He leaned forward and rested his head on the side of yours. You could feel his breath and you closed your eyes tightly, shivering slightly.
“Y/N. I knew he wanted you. I saw it the first day. I saw the look on his face when he saw you, the look of hatred on his face when he met me. He’s one of Nate’s closest friends, why aren’t you with him?”
You took a deep breath as you looked at him. “It was never that way for me. We went on one date and I knew then that I didn’t want him. Then I met you,” you smiled at him as you swiped your hand through his hair. “And I don’t see anyone else.”
“I heard your conversation with Eric earlier. I heard him tell you that he loves you. What did you tell him? I couldn’t quite hear.”
You leaned back and suddenly it wasn’t so hard to say. “I told him that I didn’t love him. I told him that I’m in love with you.” His eyes brightened and his hold on you tightened. “I love you, Noah, so much.”

“How’s it going? I’m Dr. Davis.” His voice fell from his lips in a firm but gentle tone and your eyes widened in surprise as you remembered the faint lisp at the end of his ‘s’, and the twang in his accent.
“Hi,” you whispered as you absorbed his image, eyes skimming over his white coat that draped down his long body. The light-blue button-up sat tightly against his neck. You swallowed gently at the ink that crawled just above the collar, sinched between a black tie traced with binary code as the pattern.
“Y/N Y/L/N?” He asked with a curious tone, gaze immediately leaving the page as his orbs met your own, and your heart raced as his ochre eyes bore into yours.
His professionalism dropped slightly as his eyes skimmed over your face in recognition, and your lips parted slightly. He stood still, frozen in remembrance before he coughed, setting the clipboard on the counter and taking a seat next to his computer.

“Let me check your lungs… can you take your jacket off?” He asked, watching you carefully as you peeled off the layer, placing it to the side.
Dr. Davis then sat next to you on the examination table and your heart began to pick up pace at the proximity of his body, his cologne melting into your senses.
His shoulder brushed against yours as he leaned behind you to place the end of the stethoscope on top of your back.
