anyways im obsessed so here my headcanons for Death in the hollow

-The Four Horsemen were the final bosses of the very first game of The Hollow.

-Their boss fight was tough as nails. Like, Dark Souls/Hollow Knight style; difficult but fair. Super cool for a regular video game, but in something like The Hollow where dying means game over forever, it's not super balanced.

-The only reason the first team won the game is they had OP powers, and also discovered a cheese strat.

-It's considered a rite of passage in the in--universe Hollow fandom to defeat the Horsemen with your team.

-Beating the fight solo without cheese is incredibly difficult, and having video proof of doing it is considered a badge of honor in the fandom.

...Switching gears slightly...

-Weirdy absolutely loves fighting The Four Horsemen. He's beat them solo without cheese more times than he can count. Death is his favorite boss in any video game ever.

-The Horsemen reoccur in every game of The Hollow. The fandom assumes this is fan service, but its actually because Weirdy has threatened to quit on multiple occasions if they're not inculded.

-Most NPCs in The Hollow don't have any special relationship with Weirdy. They either ignore him, or react to him the same way as they would any other character. Death, and the other Horsemen, are specially programmed to be friends with him.

-Death/Weirdy is a popular ship within the in-universe fandom. Some people argue the ethics of shipping a real person, but Weirdy actively encourages it by liking and reblogging the posts. Higher ups at Hollow Games are begging him to stop. He does not.
