Updated. I fixed his face proportions because it was bothering me.
I figured his hair should be definitely shorter than when we first meet him in CotBP. The shirt is probably cleaner too. I dont do the white man dreads but added just a little braid and a few trinkets on his hair (including the piece of eight), since he is basically just starting.
No long goatee braids yet, he will get there. And of course the little earring from his original concept art.

Let's not beat around the bush: Children's author JK Rowling sexually harassed someone. In some jurisdictions, this would count as sexual abuse. JK Rowling has committed a sex crime against a woman and fell back on the old rape apologist standby of "she was asking for it".
Flower: English bluebell, which symbolizes love, devotion, and constancy, but also quiet strength, because they look small and weak, but easily survive spring frost. Katherine has one pressed in her notebook that she brought from England. There are also some lovely associations in fairy lore about bluebells trapping unsuspecting wanderers
Animal: swan, a bit on the nose, but while they look beautiful and calm, they can actually be vicious and protective if provoked
Beverage: chamomile tea, which is peace, calm in the face of adversity
Object: leather satchel, which looks classy (and expensive?), but is also very useful, holds a lot, and stands the test of time
Food: traditional English scone, which is comforting and decadent, while not being dainty. Blueberry symbolizing resilience
Weather: sunrise, breaking through clouds
Colour: a calming, loyal blue, which also speaks to her innocence at the beginning of her story
Place: somewhere cozy and quaint that instantly makes you feel at home

Auntie Hazel
Flower: Mangrove. Mangroves grow in challenging environments, where they not only help to shelter the land from erosion and storms, but also help add to the growth of new land by way trapping silt, dirt, etc. in their roots. They are also home to various animals.
Auntie herself is a shelter and nurturer for the younger generations of her blood-family and will happily take those who are without families under her wing, thus building new a new family~
Weather: Calm seas for a calm woman~
Color: A rich, reddish purple. Hard to choose, admittedly, because all jewel tones scream 'Auntie' to me.
Food: Nice and comforting chicken stew. It's a hug for your tummy 💚
Beverage: Drinking chocolate--not hot chocolate. This is thicker, ricer, and usually spiced.
Object: A statement necklace because Auntie loves her bling~
Place: A comfy, cozy nook that's a blend of Moroccan, Turkish, and Indian influences due to all the travel she did in her younger years
Animal: Elephant. Not only are they maternal, but they are extremely protective of their families/pack and have been known to adopt orphaned calves. Need I say more?
Emil
Flower: Wild Leek. The leek is the national emblem of Wales and, though Emil may no longer call Wales home, they're intrinsically linked to the country due to their father. But also, leeks grow close to the sea shore, symbolizing that Emil may be of the sea, but they're also of the land.
Weather: Calm before a storm. Emil seemingly has a very long fuse, but there is a lot going on beneath the surface that they hide.
Color: A deep blue-grey that leans just a touch towards green--all the colors of the sea on one.
Food: Banana bread. 'Nuff said.
Beverage: Grog. Straight rum is good, yes, but it goes farther and helps keep scurvy at bay when you dilute it with some sugar, fruit juice, water, and spices.
Object: A journal. Given the fic is told through their eyes...it made sense.
Place: Kelp forest. full of life, signs of a relatively healthy ecosystem, and just overall chill vibes.
Animal: Grey seal. Another tie-in to Wales, as it's one of two seal species that live there. Picked this one over the harbor seal purely because it's described as having a larger nose and Emil's got a big nose :3 But also ☝️ another symbol of how Emil is both of the sea and land~
Mary
Flower: Yellow tulip. Tulips symbolize charity, love, and rebirth, but yellow tulips specifically symbolize joy, hope, optimism, and gentle encouragement. And if that's not Mary, then I don't know what is.
Weather: A calm, tropical rain. Perfect for cozy snuggles.
Color: A nice, deep jewel-toned yellow that leans almost orange~ Happiness in a color.
Food: Jamaican curried goat. Rich, spicy, warm, and filling--and one of modern Mary's favorite foods.
Beverage: Hibiscus tea. Tart and tangy, with just a bit of sweetness. The perfect thing to have on a hot afternoon~
Object: A pretty knife. Looks like it's just decorative, but can still shank a bitch if need be :3
Place: A nice, cozy bedroom where she can curl up with her loves~ Couldn't find a good aesthetic picture of a larger bed, tho...
Animal: Sea otter~! They look cute and sweet, but they have sharp teeth and claws when threatened. Are also very maternal and protective over their little families, just like Mary.
Zhu
Flower: Fireweed. It symbolized resilience, renewal, and new beginnings, given it's one of the first flowers to bloom after wildfires. In all her different forms, it took Zhu meeting fiery 'ends' for her to come back and flourish.
Weather: Summer storm on the Mongolian steppes.
Color: Vermilion--not for all the blood she's shed over the years, but for the luck and good fortune she hopes to find in her new life. And also because she's sexy in it.
Food: Hawaiian pizza. Before ya'll yell at me, hear me out: Hawaiian pizza is a strange mix of 'cultures': A 'Hawaiian' themed pizza (Italian), invented by a Greek guy in Canada. Zhu, herself, is a strange mix of cultures, having grown up all over Eurasia/Western Asia and having a mixed heritage.

Beverage: Masala Chai. Warm and spicy and comforting~
Object: Bow + arrows. Zhu's a deadly archer. Need I say more?
Place: Curled up in bed in Giulia's arms (Zhu would be the 'little' spoon :3)
Animal: Mongolian horse. Zhu's a horse gal, and with fancyverse!Zhu having spent a lot of time in Mongolia....it made sense.
