Yes, it was an illusion, and a very high quality one at that. The Twilight camp was large, it didn’t exactly seem that way at first, but it was renewed with the return of the Destroyer.
Unlike most of the old camps, it seemed to be under heavy security, and to top it off it was under watch by two faceless at the gates. Oh, not even Alex expected this, but the Destroyer was back.
Not that it mattered actually, Alex had his task, and so did Sil. If they were going to make it out alive they needed to accept the situation they were in. That being said? Alex decided it was best if he made his way into the camp first.
He knew at least one person in the camp, but he didn’t know if they would be too accepting. However, he had to try as he gestured for Sil to follow.
The night elf female smirked as she spotted Alex, running up to him, and giving him a tight hug, “Alex! I haven’t seen you since Wymrest!” He then glanced over to Sil, “Did you get a new girlfriend?”
Alex tensed up for a moment, “No… not a girlfriend. I am afraid my condition makes it impossible for…” He did hope Sil would take over the situation…
Silindra followed just behind Alex as they entered the came, fighting back the tension that was building in her shoulders. They would expect a new recruit to be nervous… but she couldn’t show too much.
Taking her queue in the unexpected greeting, Silindra stepped up to Alex’s side now, her face still mostly concealed in shadow. “I am Silindra,” she greeted, keeping the greeting brief as per Alex’s instructions. She had expected them to be questioned upon entering… but this was certainly not the kind of question she expected.
It was a friendly one, the words of an old friend. Somehow, she had not linked friendship to the workings of the cult. But, now she realized that such a presumption was silly. Despite their goals, these people were still people, after all.
With a flash of a smile, she looked over the other elf. “And… who might you be?”
Alex whimpered lightly as the Elf finally pulled away as she spoke, “Interesting, I am Cain.” It wasn’t her real name, but it was the name she used at the moment.
Yet, Alex didn’t really like being touched as he glanced down to the contraption on his arm, “My condition doesn’t allow me to have…acts of intimacy towards anyone.”
Cain then grunted, “I assume this is the one you spoke so… highly of?”
Silindra glanced briefly towards Alex at his words, eyes sympathetic under the concealment of her cloak. Briefly, she wondered what being back here was doing for him, the place of the people that had mutilated his very body.
With an inaudible grunt, she cast the thoughts aside, instead awaiting Alex’s answer to Cain’s question.
Alex had sent word ahead, of course, of who he would bring into the encampment, but the fact that this woman knew it meant that she must be of some kind of authority and Silindra waited patiently to find out what kind.
Alex gave a quick nod, “Yes, she is. “ He then gave a gesture towards her, “I expect she will be... satisfactory for what you need?”
Cain gave a light nod, “Yes, she is.” She then lofted an eyebrow, “How well do you know dragons? We have one here that is a traitor.. I requested Alex get someone who can break him. Are you up to the task?”
