2017 music update
i haven’t used humblr in a while on account to having real life friends, jobs, cool cars and debilitating cocaine addictions. but now i’m back and i want to tell you about how much i love jesus and music
jesus came to me in a dream and wraped his big strong arms around me and said “my son, my child, you must create music or else you’ll never get this good dick again,” and i want that good jesus dick again so i made it. please take a look at it.

Black Flag-Family Man
Instead of listening to this album you could give me your address and I could just come to your house and fuck your dog. It’s no big deal really.
Black Flag-My War
Now this is a slimy jam!! I love me some Black Flag, especially when Mr. Rollins is doing the hooting and hollering. It doesn’t get me hard though bro, haha, don’t be weird.
So on side 1 we got some fast, hardcore punk jams, ooh! Great tracks all around, and I’m not even that huge of a punk fan! I honestly prefer to listen to domestic violence between my parents (R.I.P Dad) but if I had a second favorite genre of music it’d definitely be Black Flag!
Alright, let’s get down and dirty here, what really makes this record stand-out compared to other punk is the darkness and seriousness exhibited in the songs. Punk as a genre has always had TOO MUCH fun for my tastes, so Black Flag plays to the 14 year old disabled boy that I am.
So you should imagine how hot and bothered side 2 makes me! Slow, pounding, sludge tracks. Wowee!! Nothing Left Inside, Three Nights and Scream!! These are some of my favorite songs on any album. Those low, dark, destructive tracks with Henry Rollins screaming in the background. YEAH HENRY, MAKE EM FEEL THE WAY I FEEL. WHY DON’T SHE WANT ME?!?!?!
“My War” is with the courts I tell you what! (Please let me see my kids I miss them so bad.)
PIG-A Poke In The Eye
Raymond Watts really wants to be Foetus. Like, he REALLY wants to be Foetus. My man Raymond has a shrine in his household, adorned with pictures of Jim Thirlwell at his most sensual. Every night before bed, Raymond gets down on his knees and begs to one day be a screaming Australian man. Sadly Raymond Watts is just an ENGLISHMAN. What are men from England good for? Post-Punk?! That isn’t Punk at all! And this album isn’t very good!
Especially when the songs are so intensely misogynistic while borrowing every lyric from KMFDM songs you worked on. Whoops!
Information Society-Creatures Of Influence
Who the fuck is Murat Konar? Where’s Kurt Harland?!?!? I love that guy! He has a hell of a voice and attitude! Murat Konar’s voice puts me to sleep! I feel really bad for this band though, that Murat wrote their breakthrough hit, “Running.” I actually like that song a lot but still, fuck Murat Konar, Kurt’s my man.
Despite having a man I’ve never heard of taking the reigns from Kurt Harland to inject some mediocrity into this band’s style, I still think this is a pretty kickass EP. It’s got a great blend of the funky synth work of the first EP and with their social critique, which is actually much more sophisticated than the last one! Except “Running,” which is about a relationship and “hot steamy night alone” or something. I don’t want to hear about your lonely nights jerking off Murat! I own a mirror!!!
The title-track is musically excellent! But I really can’t get over Murat’s voice. He sounds so bored! Kurt always sounds excited to be singing, I love that guy. Does he like me back? Please ask him I’m really shy.
So we got a bunch of funky bunky synth tunes that are really good, a new version of Fall In Line for no reason other than to WASTE MY TIME. If you can handle Borat stealing Kurt’s thunder, I totally reccomend this album! It’s really good! After this Information Society got a major label release, oh man, I hope they bring their social critique to the masses, maybe they can succeed where Devo failed!
Information Society-INSOC EP
This was one of those self-released EPs back in the early 80s! Back when Information Society was an all-synth group in Minneapolis who were trying to make commentary on society. I’m not sure how their dig at the man went, but the tunes are real good! Fall In Line is quirky and fun dance music! Growing Up With Shiva sounds like some strange synthy shoegaze thing and it’s hypnotically catchy! Get Up Away From That Thing is a great James Brown parody which ends with them insinuating nukes are going to hit cities with “It’s coming! It’s coming!” Can You Live As Fast as Me has a wonderful female sung chorus and a beautiful outro! This is a great EP from some college kids in Minnesota. As a fan of synth music like Kraftwerk or John Foxx I highly recommend this release. It’s not gonna knock your socks off but when you realize the “Pure Energy” guys wrote music this interesting when they were teenagers will surely entertain you!

ACHE by You've Got FOETUS On Your Breath
this was originally one of my least favorite Foetus albums, along with Deaf (Nail being my absolute favorite.)
While Nail is still my favorite Foetus album, and favorite album of all time, Ache has grown to be a favorite of mine too. Get Out of My House is a manically catchy tune and J.Q Murder is one of the funkiest and most bizarre tunes Mr. Thirlwell has produced.
The thing setting Ache on higher regards from its predecessor is that almost every song is packed to the brim with actual MUSIC! Deaf was filled with bizarre noise experiments, and the few actual songs had such hilarious sounding keyboards that it was impossible to fully take in J.G Thirlwell's still incredible lyrical talents. This issue has been all but fixed here, as while you'll still hear some goofy casio keyboard noises, the production is so full and complete that it never truly takes away from the song.
One thing of note is that Ache was produced in 1982, which listening to it, is absolutely STUNNING. Here is "J.Q Murder" off of Ache

For the record, "Mad World" by Tears for Fears was released the same year.
Ache is definitely a step up from Deaf and certainly shows how he evolved to the brilliance of Hole and Nail in such a short time period. Definitely a great starting point for early Foetus.
