It isnt always our partner that we are turning away from but the person we have ourselves become. And it isnt so much that we are looking for another person as much as we are looking for another self ... some affairs are an attempt to beat back deadness and an antidote to death.

Hot Pics - A trick of the ego?
Today I have been thinking alot about girls who post “hot selfies” on the internet which gives them huge followings and also a boost to their self esteem as a result. Is this boost in the ego justified when applied to a digital space? e.g. Is there really any difference between this person and a man who aggregates all of the hot photos and puts them on his own page to gain followers? What is the viewers concern in this transaction? The poster or the image??
From my perspective be it a vanity post or a collection of images the “viewer” doesnt REALLY care about the anonymous person behind the photo... only that they have access to the image. Thoughts?
